Yes, Peter could and probably should have asked questions, but Steven is /the/ authority of magic (to Pete) while Peter just knows it exists. The moment Peter objected to one part, Steven should have stopped the whole thing to find out who Peter wanted to remember. Or, as HISHE brought up, just made the world forget the Mysterio broadcast. 'Realistically' (while being very generous with the term) that would have been best at least, but that would have made for a boring movie though so... here we are. :p "I wish they picked the William DeFoe one though." *raises brow* Someone missed all the promotional bits on this I see. :) The apartment at the end is Toby's one. Same landlord though you didn't see him, it was his voice.

I became bitter, I became rageful.” For reference, Spider-Man (at least in the comics) has the raw strength to go toe to toe with low power Hulks, can throw cars like it’s nothing, has literally punched a villain’s jaw off, and going all out nearly beat Kingpin to death in one issue (while other members of his rogue’s gallery watched). A Spider-man that doesn’t pull his punches can end up killing people. Getting to see Andrew’s Spider-Man reference getting to that point and then caution Tom’s Spider-Man was devastating and beautiful, especially with how good of actors they are.

2025-05-29 23:38:20 +0000 UTCThis movie is easily the best of the live action Spider-Man movies, but it's only thanks to the ones that came before it. The payoff here is absolutely fantastic. Andrew Garfield getting to save MJ, that face he makes should've gotten him an award or something because that shit broke me when I first saw it. That one look redeemed the ending of the second movie for me. You also HAD to have Tobi as the Spider-Man stopping Tom Hollands, the look he gives says everything. And I love how Strange isn't just a cameo, he goes through a legitimate arc in this. Him first saying "Nice knowing you, Spider-Man" when he's going to erase Spider-Man from peoples memories. But at the end, he doesn't want to erase Peter, he genuinely likes and respects him and he's sad that he might forget him. Also, that delivery was the second moment that broke me. It's delivered so damn well and is such a gut punch every time I hear it. (Also, the 3 of them did the Spider-Man meme behind the scenes.)

When the comic it is, not adapting but what its end goal is, is identical to the most HATED spider-man comic ever in Spider-man: One more day. Basically the goal of splitting up MJ and Peter, as well as bringing Peter back to square one in a soft reboot. This movie by the end did the EXACT same thing, however they have set up MJ remembering eventually with her still wearing the necklace Peter gave her at the end.

The moment Aunt May said the whole "With great power comes great responsibility" line... my heart SANK. I do think that this is a good opportunity for Tom Holland's Peter Parker, though. He... really missed out on the whole "Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" side of things. At least as far as we really got to see... outside of the videos that Tony pulled up in Civil War. Anyway, I am SO excited for you to get to watch Loki! I've been waiting so hard for you to get to that one! And, don't get me wrong. I understand powering through the movies more, you've just powered past so many of the shows that I love ^_^;; You're not quite at a point to power through season 1 and 2 in one go, but still. Once you hit Quantumania, you can do season 2.

So a good majority was actually him doing it. He told them it wouldn’t no fun for me or anyone else if I’m just a cameo or simply headshots and close ups. To be the character you have to do it all 2:15:04 yeah that one shot is what clues alot of us in that Tobey and Andrew were in the film. That shot was shown in the trailer but tobey and Andrew were removed. What they didn’t remove was the lizard getting kicked in the face. So in the trailer you could see something had hit the lizard knocking him back so who or whatever hit him was removed. The big theories at the time were obviously the other spidermen or maybe venom but where Sony is still picky about that shit who knows if we’ll see hardy and tom on screen. But yeah lots of things with this ending and Peter being erased. Not only people but also all records are gone. So he has to get his ged all over again. He can no longer use the suit Tony made for him or Edith because both were only to be used by Peter but now that he has been wiped they don’t recognize him. That why he made a new suit while his advanced suit sits in a corner.

Infinity War and Endgame were both amazing, and a lot of the other films before this one were high contenders, but this one did something that seemed impossible. They made the past none MCU Spiderman films relevant again. Also unfortunately the people in control of the Spiderman stories throughout different forms of fiction up to this point seem to be allergic to the very idea of making a happy Spiderman ending. It doesn't make for good storytelling I guess.

As she's dying in the hospital, Peter wonders to himself why these things always happen to him and the people he loves. Then a man touches his shoulder, which shook him because he didn't even notice him come even with the spider-sense. Eventually he asks who the hell he is, and the man reveals to be the entity known as The One Above All. The source of all existence in everything that comes from Marvel, which embodies the creators of Marvel, such as Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, all the writers... He brings Peter to a beach he used to walk with Uncle Ben. Peter asks why people have to suffer. The One Above All replies that it happens, for no good reason. And enduring it doesn't always make them better, often make them worse. Then Peter sees a multitude of people as far as his eyes can see. He asks who are they. The One Above All says they are just a tiny fraction of the thousands upon thousands of lives he saved as Spider-man. That though he spends mere seconds with each of them before swinging away, they all got an entire rest of their lives because he gave them that chance. Then he says everyone has a role to play, and for better or worse that is his. Spider-man has been one of my greatest inspirations for the way I am today. Seeing him get up no matter how much he's pushed down helped shaped how I react to life. So the way I see it, the role The One Above All speaks of, the role the writers speak of, is being the model of perseverence for us. TL;DR I guess Spider-man is Marvel Jesus XD

Venom got picked up by someone (Eddie from Tobey Spiderman 3) who felt the same. Venom was never the villain, just a poor abused alien carrying everyone's trauma. I also am an avid reader of the comics and those give more of that notion than the movies and cartoons really managed.

He could be "MJ is ours, she belongs to us, she just doesn't know it yet." Wich could drive Peter to do some really bad stuff with the black suit till he stops and takes it off to wich venom could be like "What? you abandon me? After all I've done?! (he's petty as a bitch XD) Well, I'll find this timeline Eddie and we'll kill you. We hate you!! WE HATE SPIDERMAN!!!"

They don't specify how both work in the MCU but they treat alternate timelines as something different then alternate dimensions even though they are all equally random and different from one another. All in all a great movie, a wonderful tribute to anyone who loved the other Spidermans. If MJ and Ned got into MIT and Peter didn’t and then he asked Doctor Strange to fix it for him then him letting his friends go at the end would make sense. But the movie begins with Peter trying to let his friends go, and ends with letting his friends go so there is no arc.

The first one is story-related, and less silly, so I'll do that one first. I get the desire to get back to spider-man status quo. Peter as a street-level hero, trying to make ends meet, with a kinda shitty apartment, doing it all on his own. But we've seen that. There have been so many adaptations of spiderman, both movie and tv, and at some point we always end up there. I LIKE that the MCU did something different. It's a world that already had superheroes, so why NOT let him have role models? Let us have Peter with a support network. Let us have Peter with older more experienced superheroes he can go to for help and advice. Let us have Peter Let him keep working to live up to the expectation of being Tony Stark's successor. They had a different, interesting take on spider-man, that still stayed faithful to who Peter Parker is, and they just kinda tossed it in order to do something more like every other adaptation of spider-man. The other problem is, logistically, that spell has SO many plot holes. Strange already said, he can't turn back time, he can't undo what's done, and the spell is just supposed to make people forget Peter Parker... But there's still evidence he existed. He has a passport. MJ and Ned *should* have his name in their contacts on their cell phones. Social security number, he might have a state ID, Flash Thompson wrote a BEST SELLING BOOK about him, and there's a SHRINE TO HIM AT SCHOOL! That stuff should all still be there, along with the video from Mysterio. People shouldn't be wondering who Spider-Man is, there's tons of evidence left behind that Spider-Man is Peter Parker, they should be wondering who Peter Parker is! ... oh, and also he totally could've shown up to Ned and MJ as Spider-Man to explain, cuz they've spent time with Spider-Man and helped him on multiple occasions, they should still remember that. Rant complete.

SOny worked their asses off to dispel the rumors, having Andrew on talk shows for other movies claiming he wasn't in it, and so much promotion. Aside for a leak, it was pretty obvious they were going to be in it. Hawkeye was airing at the same time this movie came out, so there was some crossover. Hawkeye (series) and No Way Home canonically happen at the exact same time. Many complained about how Spider-Man was too immature in this series, but it all makes sense in the end. All three of these movies are his origin story, his wounds to bare that turn him into the man he knows he must be. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is currently in production.

In the Comics, if he reveals who he is, they remember everything, but he rarely ever tells anybody because it puts them in Danger. Its always Heartwarming when they remember, so I hope we get a few of those scenes in the MCU. Also in the comics, Hulk remembers who he is, Banner doesn't but Hulk does. Ever since, they announced that we will be getting Spider-man 4 next year, I’ve been thinking what that film might be like. There’s been a lot of online discourse among fans about needing to introduce a new love interest such as Gwen Stacy. Watching this movie back, I think that would be massively narratively unsatisfying, they can’t leave that thread of Peter saying he loves MJ unresolved, it was actually such a beautiful set up for the next film. And I don’t know I quite like this MJ and Peter, they feel cute and I buy that they love each other.

2025-05-26 17:14:17 +0000 UTCI cannot agree with the statement that Dr Strange isn't to blame for the spell going wrong just because he struggles to see Peter as a kid anymore. Dr Strange is a former surgeon and, as you know, a major part of that job is to discuss with patients what the possible risks and complications of a surgery could be prior to it being carried out. He is very experienced with dealing with people that are his equals and still explaining to them what he is going to be doing and how it can go wrong. By not sitting down with Peter, explaining the spell, what it is going to do, and the potential risks of it, he is doing the magical equivalent of not getting informed consent before performing surgery. Also always hated Strange's line about "you didn't think to ask them to reconsider before asking me to brainwash the entire world". He didn't ask Strange to do that. He, as an emotional and stressed teenager, came to Strange for help as a mentor and STRANGE suggested brainwashing instead of first going over his non-magical options

Maybe they do, but go by a different name like in the Ultimate (Earth-1610) comics, where they're known as the Ultimates. Or maybe they just haven't formed as a team yet, but individual members exist. The Spider-Man (2002) novelization even has Peter reading a Captain America comic implying that he exists within the universe. Doctor Strange is mentioned in Spider-Man (2004), so other heroes do exist. Maybe Andrew's Spider-Man exists in the same world as the Fantastic Four (2015), which I could actually see working really well, just give that F4 cast a good movie that actually feels like a Fantastic Four film. Also, both Andrew's Spider-Man and that version of the Fantastic Four pull heavily from the Ultimate universe as well.
