The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (Extended Edition) Part One

Comments

The actor that plays Kili also played John Mitchel in one of my favorite shows of all time. He was one of the main reasons I ended up watching this movie back in the day.

Aliulo

I'm not unsociable either! I just... still don't have a doorbell. After four years living here.

Zakarin Talvas

gimbli (the dwarf from lotr movies) is the son of gloin the dwarf you were thinking was him

Malik myers

Yeah, compared to the dragons that existed during the end of the first age and second age, Smaug isn't all that large. Of course, if we are talking huge big bads, then Shelob's mother Ungoliant takes the cake, the table, and the chairs.

LordVed

what if i told you as far as dragons go in middle earth smauge was not that big

Lance Ivy

you should realy watch ralph baxy's version . i like bulbeborn cumberbun as much as the next fellow but i think the va is better for smauge in it .

Lance Ivy

"The Elves should be thinking about the long game because their so long lived." Yes but what you've forgotten Alicia, is Elves are also petty bitches who carry grudges LONGER than Dwarves the race most famous for carrying generational grudges.

Kenneth Smith

Fun Fact, the story of Bilbo´s ancestor inventing golf during that battle is actually not embelishment in the book, but a true story.

Adrian Langen

You're not, they are biologically immortal, they can however choose to abandon their immortality like Arwen did

Goobert

Aren't elves In this Universe immortal, as in they can die from illness and wounds but as far as life span they are immortal, or am I miss remembering from another fantasy universe?

37:35 dont know if someone else has pointed it out, but that dwarf is Gloin, Father of Gimli

Noah Benden

The beginning of this movie does an amazing job of taking Dwarves from “Gimley the funny guy” and making them feel very deep and cultured. You can tell how important this is to them all

Fobbles

If I remember right… the hobbit was a story Tolkien wrote for his kid when they were young, that’s why it’s sillier? Is that right?

Fobbles

"Here lies Balin, Son of Fundin. Lord of Moria." Balin in this movie was the relative Gimli wanted to meet in the Fellowship of the Ring

Wurzaags Morky Mischeif

37:33 you were wondering if that was Gimli from the other movies, no, that is Gloin, Gimli’s dad, if you remember, in the other movies he was introduced as “Gimli, son of Gloin”

Ben Gross

a little behind the scenes for these movies, because Gandalf is wildly taller than most of the main cast Ian McKellen had to act a lot in front of green screen talking to tennis balls to represent the actors. Being so alone caused Ian McKellen to break down on set announcing "This is not why I became an actor"
