Mostly because i remember the storyline where him suppressing his feelings for Jean, that he has had since she was a child, leads to a massive super villain almost killing everyone. It is the part where he is in love with someone he knew since she was a freaking baby.

We were taught about the crimes on both sides, the general phases of the war (The pre-war bits where we have Germany take over bits of their surrounding nations, the period where Germany is winning, Germany invading the Soviets, the Turnaround and the final race for German land.), We also got the info about the Soviets and the West getting as many Blind(Not See... I dunno if we get censored here so i am going this way) scientists. We got it after WW1, where we got a lower quality of info. But WW2 was basically the basis they used to build up the understanding of current day. I did have to really figure out what was going on in Japan on my own. We don't really mention them much, which i understand now. It is really hard to discuss Japan in WW2 without some of the most impressive and sickening war crimes in the war. I will just say Nanjing.

The daughter that they showed in this movie dont exist in comics so i guess they just tossed a girl in and say add whatever powers… it delivered tho

2025-06-18 16:49:31 +0000 UTC1:45:40 yes - in at least ONE comic run, Magneto fathers Quicksilver and Wanda.. the MCU didn't do this because the rights to marvel properties were ALL OVER THE PLACE... they could get the twins but not X-men properties - hence why there are no mutant storylines in the MCU...

The plots kinda all over the place, we've got a bunch of characters introduced and forgotten. This feels more like a cash grab than a real attempt. Not to say it's all bad. Honestly, Michael Fassbender as Magneto is the best part. He's not phoning it in and actually pulls some emotion from you with his performance. And that Quicksilver scene is AWESOME. But...yeah. Apocalypse should have been several movies, at least 2, building up to a big climax. They knocked it down to a one-and-done, and didn't even get the villain right. He's this like 3 story tall god-like being in the comics. And...this guys just...weak. He's weak as a character, as a villain. And they did Psylocke dirty, give her a movie of her own, dammit! She's cool! And yet...still better than Wolverine Origin's and...the last X-Men movie.

2025-06-16 19:38:20 +0000 UTCOne of my favorite things about the First Class/Reboot series, is that they adapted the way that comic book characters don't age, but were still involved in events that happened before they should've been born: The first movie took place in the 60's, the second in the 70's, this one in the 80's, and Dark Phoenix in the 90's, with no age makeup or recasts done to make the characters look like they've gotten older. As for the question of where Wanda is, if I remember correctly, I *think* it had something to do with the original agreement between Marvel and Fox. Again, I don't remember clearly, so take with a grain of salt, but something about Wanda not being among the listed characters, or having not been a mutant in the comics at the time the deal was made, but there being a loophole for Marvel/Disney to use Quicksilver because he's technically been an Avenger, as long as they didn't have him be a mutant. Also yes, at least originally in the comics, Wanda and Pietro were Magneto's kids (it's been retconned back and forth occasionally). As for why he left Quicksilver's mom in *this* universe? Assuming Quicksilver was in his teens or 20's in the last movie, it's entirely possible that Magneto had him *before* he met Charles, back when he was on his nazi-killing revenge tour.

2025-06-16 05:08:02 +0000 UTCIf you are gonna check out X-Men 97 after I would recommend watching at least the important story arcs from the original X-Men animated series from the 90s as 97 is a direct sequel to it and I think you would get greater enjoyment from watching 97 if you have the prior knowledge of the original series.
