2023-12-09 19:10:39 +0000 UTCThis rant is kinda unrelated, but the “one nation under god” part of the pledge and almost all of the weird “Jeudeo-Christian” stuff in American culture including using the suuper racist “Star Spangled Banner” (look up the original lyrics) as the official anthem was all added in during the red scare. All of this weird stuff that conservatives say about America’s religious past is just patently untrue and the only reason anyone believes that nonsense is cause we thought that the “godless” Soviets- *(that were totally out to destroy Western society and definitely a threat to American values trust me guys it isn’t about money)* -would burst into flames or something the moment they touched a bible.
