I think one thing a lot of people don't realize is that the characters from Xing are based of of the Japanese... a proud and strong people. I personally believe the slap was more for her sake than his. Like he knew she wouldn't be able to forgive herself if he didn't first discipline her how she felt she deserve to be.

He wasn't in combat but working on so many burnt corpses left by Roy messed him up as a doctor who meant to treat the living. It led to what most of the comments about Knox have said. Cases like his are common. Though they vary in degree, it really sucks when traumatic experiences hurt everyone involved and they end up separating. Trauma can strain a loving relationship through robbing the affected person's happiness, making them feel somewhat separated and lonely on top of the inner torment. It hurts infinitely more when that separation is voluntary to keep one of the spouse's more extreme PTSD episodes from hurting their loved ones. No one did anything wrong, yet, a bane entered their lives that they didn't deserve and it tore apart a family, even if they have and always will love each other.

Not to say all the other shows are terrible but it feels like every other week we have a different show coming in and I am just sitting here like please get through the second half of fmab since you are about to hit half way through next episode
