I will forever love seeing Father getting shot by a Briggs soldier. I love seeing effective minor characters in fiction, and the Briggs soldiers coming in as the cavalry is just incredibly hype, "Oh, some demi-god is trying to take over the world? Guess its time to bring out the mortars then." Also, Hawkeye being Mustangs literal eyes is one of the most romantic things in anime. Find yourself someone who can and will blast heavy artillery in the direction you tell them to without hesitation.

Worth noting that in the line at the end of the episode Ed calls Father a "novice", the same insult he uses for Father Cornello all the way back in Liore at the start of the series. It's pretty fitting, not just because of the callback, but because at the end of the day both Father and Cornello are trying to 'play God', and a big part of Ed's journey has been learning why that's a terrible idea.
