I am realizing now how much he uses his hands. holding hands. kissing her hand. watching her draw signs on his hand. pulling her hands up. pulling her in. And notice how his only tatoo, that we know of, is on his hand. The hands are how he reaches her. it's how she communicates. she watches hands all the time. she notices concern in Oushi's signing. she notices how big Itsu's fingers are. Like how the others hear affections in his voice. I think she hears a persons tone in their hands. He is learning how to communicate with her and it is not just with the signing.
