season 1 amber: total bitch, zero self reflection and despite her charity work, shows little to no empathy for others (to me at least, her charity work comes across as a means to serf her own self validation and ego, rather than actually helping people. which TBF, what ever makes you help others is worthwhile, but it makes her kind of a bitch to everyone around her) season 2 amber: much better, actually has some self reflection and grows. i like how they handled amber, and i 100% think the intent was to have her be hated for "knowing" mark is invincible, because you cant have any growth without flaws to fix. as much as i hated her in S1, i loved how she was written all together the reason they split up is what teenage peter parker has to learn, a healthy work life balance. its the tragedy of superman: superman can hear everyone on the planet all the time, he hears whenever there is a murder, accident, robbery, all of it.... yet for all his power hes still only 1 man, and cant be everywhere at once, and has to devote time to himself. same with spider-man, he has to learn that he cant give everything he has to saving the city, he needs to devote some time to peter parker and his relationships/happiness. mark can make it work with amber, if they both accept that mark doesnt have to drop everything everytime something happens, and that if he makes plans with amber, then he lets the world deal with its own shit. but thats part of growing up and getting any career

He's, to our knowledge, the ONLY Viltrumite that didn't turn on his planet; AND she managed to shake Nolan's dogmatic views as well. If anything, Cecil should bring her ALL the children he has in that government daycare he has! (lol)

Also even during the relapse he is still leagues better than he was in the beginning, it’s just a bit subtle in the anime since you don’t get everyone’s internal monologues every time something happens.

But in Season 2 they just completely pretend that moment never happened, and put her more in-line with her comic behavior, and she's back to being a completely relatable character again.

I think she is super well written so far in season 2 and I love her. and I hope they work it out and can stick together for a little while longer atleast for both of their sake. but I do think long term they will propably break up and its for the better. just the fact she will die of old age before mark looks 30, but atleast for now they need eachother and good for eachother. sooo I dont know... :)

Edit: now I kinda want to sellout the Stormlight Archive books again, there's a shitton of characters there, including one that had a really fucked up backstory and is currently going through the redemption arc in the literal sense of the word. But then again, I'd already mentioned the series in the comments under FMA episodes, talking about the exact same thing

Like I watched both seasons but the MC is way to pervy.

You had the same kinda sympathy and attitude towards Endevor from MHA as well. I feel like people really need understanding and sympathy to get into Mushoku Tensei and enjoy such a masterpiece.
