Kind of a not-so-fun fact. Frieren remembering Himmel's words about how it would be embarrassing to meet someone again after a tearful goodbye then the first still we see in the credits is of Himmel's grave. Which as we all remember, Frieren cried at which could be seen as a goodbye, and the whole point of their journey is to go to this place where the dead can be spoken too. Meaning that their reunion after Himmel's passing could be awkward, or embarrassing for Frieren since she cried at his funeral.

Yeah, translation is a really hard job, people don't realize how brutally difficult it can be. Especially people who translate comedy, they deserve the world, because holy hell that's hard asf.

I know it says "The Journey to Ende continues", but Madhouse has a really bad habit of NEVER having second seasons of any anime they produce. Maybe Frieren will be the one to finally break that pattern.

Regarding the translation, English uses a lot more implied subjects when having a conversation, so I think the Wirbel/Frieren conversation flows nicely this way as the meaning isn't changed. It just leaves out the implied subject for fewer words on screen and easier reading. That's my two cents at least. "They'd be what?" seems a bit too informal for Frieren's speech style though. I don't envy the work that goes into this job. XD

Land really just sat on his porch drinking tea while everyone else was fighting for their lives and it worked out. Love that for him.

It occurred to me at some point while watching this reaction, that she is called "Siri" because she knows everything.

I'm glad you watched through the ending credits! So many interesting bits. Erhle appears to be Lernen's granddaughter, which explains her comments fighting Fern. And Ubel is on her own again, without Land.

I like how with Ubel it wasn't a fleeting thought. She's actively thinking about killing Serie and not hiding it at all. No words needed.

Wait I just realized that comment at the end could refer to the anime too though, what a great closing line. If we have a tearful goodbye it would be embarrassing when we see each other again

After reading the manga, I was so excited and afraid hearing the anime announcement, but I'm beyond happy at how beautiful this adaptation turned out. Might be my favorite anime/manga ever, right alongside One Piece. I'm glad so many more people have gotten to experience Frieren because of this anime, and I personally will probably watch it again in the future.

Serie's face when she gave her the spell was also funny. Great running gag.

13:00 that's just a simpler and more common way to say that idea in english, or maybe they thought repeating his sentence didn't give the right tone in english. Subs do that kind of thing all the time.

Lernen wanting to be remembered, even if it is as the guy who killed Frieren reminds me of Herostratus, who burned down the second temple of Artemis some 400 years BC. It is claimed that the reason he did it was to become famous and notorious, and part of his punishment was that his name was stricken from all records and it became forbidden to talk about him, so that his memory would fade...
Which clearly backfired, because we still know about the guy more than two millennia later.
And you love to see Frieren call out Serie for being a tsundere grandma. Love that she makes the Frieren face at Ferns request.

Funfact; as by Serie's degree, Methode is only allowed to cuddle her 10 minutes per day.

Great Anime! I hope it gets its more people watching it and gives people great life lessons!
Same time i am conflicted on Frieren season ending. I am sad it ended, i am happy they announced very possible Season 2 AND happy that Madhouse now can work on my other favorite anime, Overlord, or rather upcoming Overlord movie. It got pushed to 2024 release either due to how focused they were on Frieren or writers needed more time to compact story movie takes place in.
Once again: Great Anime! Hopefully more people check at least first episode and if they like it, they would watch to the End(e).
