I don't know what it is about the line, but "A knight who defends an empty throne" feels like such an strong meaningful line

I've heard the Beru is a fan favorite, but nah, Igris is my favorite.
There's a level of dignified badassary about him that cannot be ignored

I'm enjoying how characters who were really just side characters at best and literal set dressing at worst in the manwha are getting actual character arcs.
Also, seeing Igris's "Alright, bet." moment animated is everything I wanted.

They didn't change anything, In Chapter 41, when that happens, he THINKS about not wanting to use it, but he checks how much time has passed, sees only 5 minutes has elapsed, There is a panel with him holding the stone to use it, the hammer swings in and knocks it out. I get anime change plots sometimes, but all they did was cut out his inner thought and inspection. otherwise it is still the same as the manhwa.

Okay, I HATE that they knocked the teleportation stone out of his hand. It completely takes away the agency he had in the webtoon. There, he made a CHOICE to stay because he'd likely never get an opportunity like this again. Damn that's disappointing what they just did.

I think thatβs the one thing that irks me about this adaptation. In the manwha, he never tried to use the stone when fighting Cerberus. This was the first time he tried to use the stone. Heβs not that much of a klutz!

ok, but what about the light novel, which came out before the comic and has details that the show could have used, but didnt and instead went on to different scenes that shouldnt have been used since they werent part of the novel or comic. And for Jeju Island, to add in a new plot point just feels wrong since the story allows them to get the info a different way later on. It doesnt feel like the Solo Leveling that it should have been.

Crazy to think this is just the prologue essentially, this is the build-up, and it is so good. Next episode is going to be sick as heck!

What do you mean? I've been literally reading the comic alongside the show and they are touching on every single arc with almost the exact details. The things they have changed to save either money or time haven't changed anything in any diminishing way.
For Jeju island it makes sense to start foreshadowing it a bit sooner seeing as how the foreshadowing in the comic didn't leave you with much time to wonder what was going to happen there.
I say this with respect but they are kind of fixing the few bits that were a little sketchy from the comic, but all in all they are basically scene for scene, word for word, keeping the comic and the anime together, heck most of the camera angles are the exact same. Anything that has changed like the Kasaka poison made the Cerberus fight saved the studio time and money of animating him in two separate locations for the same information, or reducing the number of murderers to kill in the Spider lair, to reduce budget, but ultimately it doesn't change anything, it is still exciting, and it still tells the same story.
This is getting ranty, and it sounds like I am miffed when I am not, love and respect for all, glad to be watching this with so many fans alongside Alicia.

You say condense but they are adding full on scenes that never happened, so not really condensing more like bloating in other places to remove stuff that is supposed to happen, it's really weird.

They are just condensing the story, all these parts happen just they are mixing it in to make the story shorter and not be like 10 seasons long.
also I like how they are exploring other characters more in the anime and the focus is not just on the Mc.

The fighting animations for the boss fights so far have been really good and I will continue watching for the future fights that are gonna take place, but i just can't understand why they decided to change up the story so much. First of all Jeju Island and the Divine Water of Life aren't supposed to have been mentioned until much later, the Hunters Guild never went to investigate Jeju Island, Jinwoo fought so many more enemies before getting to Igris. And will this last change is small, he was supposed to eat Kasaka's poison in his room after discovering the Detox buff, but moving it to during the Cerberus fight felt unnecessary, I just feel like the animation isn't doing the light novel and webcomic justice except when it comes to the boss fights because the story in the anime just feels rushed. I highly recommend reading the light novel at some point either before or after the anime concludes.
