Some kids, usually around middle school age, go through a delusional phase where they actual everyday larp as anime protagonists. That's why the behavior is also known as "8th Grade Syndrome ".

That is a hurdle most isekai protagonists wouldn't be able to do right away. It reflects the fact that despite being a "shut in" he isn't a failed middle aged man or something. He was just a weeby kid who loved videogames and had a perfectly decent future ahead of him.

2024-03-25 11:45:51 +0000 UTCregarding aqua's attack against the frog: that attack is actually pretty powerful, but she had the bad luck to use it against an enemy that's both resistance to striking attacks and is resistance to water type attacks, which, somewhat unsurprising, is aqua's domain and thus the element infused into her attacks. so she choose the worst possible enemy to try that attack against.
