To paraphrase the brilliant Kieth David. The Konosuba adventuring party is "Made up of a bunch of rejects I wouldn't trust with a potato gun."

The trope you are thinking of is called Chūnibyō. And the thing is its more than just an anime trope. It's based on something from real life in Japan. Some kids, usually around middle school age, go through a delusional phase where they actual everyday larp as anime protagonists. That's why the behavior is also known as "8th Grade Syndrome ".

Kazuma is pretty much carrying the group despite being average, so calling the other two out for being almost useless in this case isn't wrong.

despite being a shut-in weeb he held down a physical labor job quite easily so at least he has the discipline to tough it out.

Lotion play is a common kink/sex work thing in the JP red light scene, so that's probably what the villagers assumed about Aqua and Megumin.

Megumin basically the poster child for high intelligence and low wisdom.

Yeah, you know those nerdy kids in middle school/high school who read Naruto mangas and pretend to be the ninjas, wearing the headbands and everything? Make that into an entire race, replace ninjas with mages, and that’s the Crimson Demon’s in a nutshell

The anime you're thinking of with an eye patch girl is Love, Chunibyo, and Other Delusions. Chunibyo is defined usually as "eighth grader disorder" or "middle-second syndrome" (i.e., middle-school second-year).

Basically this anime is the Always sunny in Philadelphia of Anime. They are selfish, and dumb, and awful people, and that is why they are great.

Hey I would give Kazuma a bit more credit. Upon getting isekaied he immediately got a job and began working as an adult. That is a hurdle most isekai protagonists wouldn't be able to do right away. It reflects the fact that despite being a "shut in" he isn't a failed middle aged man or something. He was just a weeby kid who loved videogames and had a perfectly decent future ahead of him.

I'm sure if Aqua's INT was high enough for her to have an internal monologue it would be petty too.

regarding aqua's attack against the frog: that attack is actually pretty powerful, but she had the bad luck to use it against an enemy that's both resistance to striking attacks and is resistance to water type attacks, which, somewhat unsurprising, is aqua's domain and thus the element infused into her attacks. so she choose the worst possible enemy to try that attack against.
