keepin my comment of the last episode, humans are stronger than witches physically, more muscular mass and more bone density makes them stronger, even a nerd like luz is stronger than someone of her age in here

I love the observation that Luz has her heart in the right place almost every time something happens, but then still mucks things up frequently when she has to make a decision. Luz is a brilliantly written protagonist for a kids-to-teens (and even young adults) targeted show. It's incredibly relatable for that age group to just want to be a good person and dependable, but there being no instruction manual for life/relationships and a lack of experience just leads to you screwing things up a lot despite your good intentions. Especially for kids/teens like I was growing up, with high empathy but terrible impulsivity, cycles of self loathing are common when you feel like all you do is screw up and hurt others - it's easy to let that accumulate and feel like you're a monster who can't ever make up for the fact that you're you. Luz is a great role model, along with the equally-well-written characters she's close to, because she/they present the best realistic version of what relationship management looks like: when you make mistakes, intentionally or not, you at some point come back to try and clarify, apologize, and make amends with the interests of the other person in mind. Even if they're not quite receptive at first, there's a recognition that it may just be a process, and it's worth continuing to try for a while because you care about the person/relationship. There's also a great recognition in this show that most people who hurt us aren't evil (including ourselves), they just have their own struggles that we can somewhat understand over time if we care to observe that and be open to forgiveness - but we don't necessarily have to do so and its ok to set boundaries after someone hurts us. Excellent show for all of us caring weirdos who struggle with self image/confidence and relationships sometimes 13/10

it never occured to me. wow. I enjoy watching any series passively, like Alicia's mentioned before, and don't really play close attention until a character mentions something or someone online says something about it.

It's because people keep redeeming new shows for her to watch. Constantly flooding her with new redemptions all the time, in addition to ones she's already watching atm (One Piece, HxH). There's anime she's no longer even watching cause no one's redeemed them, like Ranking of Kings. I'm still bitter about it cause I love that anime. Because it's a redemption series and not one she wanted to check out herself, like with One Piece, it's dropped for now.

That pattern of Luz's is actually one of the things that really resonates with me. It's that peculiarly paradoxical mixture of having the understanding and ethical intentions, and also being impulsive and good at rationalizing enough to sabotage all of it. Bane of my existence as a teen.
EDIT: I also really love the genuine smile on Eda's face when King jump-hugs her. A small detail that enhances the sense of her briefly letting the disaffected act drop. Very sweet. :D

I totally know what you mean about Gus, his little one-liners are some of my favorite bits, and I think I just attribute his silliness like "I'll distract them with MY FLAGS--ack!" as him just being a little younger than the rest; despite him being particularly gifted in illusions, he's also a few years younger than the rest, so I think he's still like 11 or 12.

My favorite thing is if you look, everytime Bat Queen appears up to now, when her feet are visible you can see the interlock. That includes when she's flying out of the house in the episode where they babysat her kids.

or Gravity Falls, creators of all three are good friends and co-operated and you can tell xD
They also voiced things for each others shows, at least Owl House's creator and Gravity Falls' creator did
