Kabru sees and overthink of people as laios does with monsters

Faroth

his point of view his good tho you only say this because this is fiction, they were too late too and turned to black magic

Fenronin (Dorian Dubourg)

He's a psychopath. Sociopaths don't manipulate or plan like Kabru, psychopaths do. Sociopaths are dangerous because of their penchant for outbursts that can violent. Psychopaths are dangerous because you can rarely tell them apart from normal people since they learn how to copy them. They are also the most violent and often plan their attacks. They'll greet you with a smile while sliding a knife into your gut.

Kap

Man, if they manage to save Falin from her fate, I hope she finds someone better than Shuro's lazy ass. Man saw that she was killed, went all the way back to Not Japan, spent a couple weeks getting his servants together, went back to the island, and then entered the dungeon to "save" the now digested Falin. He's like Jerry running away from the homeless guy and only warning Beth after his ass is safe in the car.

Kap

Laios is goal oriented. He set out to revive his sister and he did. He plans on finding a way to save her and no one will stop him. Shuro might be fine letting the girl he wanted to marry rot as dragon feces or killing her because she's a chimera, but that's because he puts his life ahead of everyone else's. Kabru is just a psychopath, sociopaths don't do the kind of long-term planning and manipulation that Kabru does, so he's fine with killing as many people as needed to get what he wants. Yeah Laios might not be a bleeding heart that constantly worries about how others see him, but because of that he has gone farther than either Shuro or Kabru. Shuro just needs to go back to his little castle and be pampered if he's gonna be such a bitch when it comes time to make tough decisions and embrace risks. The fact he had the gall to think his plan of dragging Marcy to be executed was better than Laios's "defeat the mad mage and save Falin" plan speaks to what a prick he is.

Kap

If they did things his way, she would've been long passed and her spirit would be eventually turned into sherbert

Kap

Nah, Kabru def has something else going on. Dunno what.

Anzac-A1

Think I remember someone saying that Kabru was essentially a high-functioning sociopath.

Zhongdonian

13:08 Okay, hear me out......W O U L D

Sean A. Crofts

I don't think Kabru is bad so much as he's the opposite of Laios. Laios is so bad at socializing it's creepy and Kabru is so good at socializing it's creepy.

Alopex The Wanderer

Senshi *refusing* to let go of the platter of food from last episode for most of this one, brings me so much joy ^^

DaniDeFig

We're talking about a situation in which Shuro felt annoyed by Laios and didn't say anything. In which clearly he could have just stated his mind because HIS FRIEND would have listened. His upbringing is, while a valid explanation, not a valid excuse. Furthermore, you CAN be vague, but you can't also expect people to completely get what you were saying. You have to pick one of the two.

Quinton Macejkovic

Or more bluntly? Running your mouth in a situation where people are strapped up and ready to go? (Like feudal Japan/Shuro's upbringing) Gets people dead.

Hawk

Doing that in a world with actual political consequences gets people hurt - and I don't just mean feelings.

Hawk

Oh it absolutely has gotten people killed. Laios is lucky he's in a world where resurrection is common, but then again everyone else seems to talk about their death(s) as a temporary inconvenience, so I guess it makes sense that people might get a bit less stressed about it if they think they'll just get brought back again.

Swan Ronson

"Dropping hints" is what cowards do. When interacting with other people, be explicit or accept that they might not get what you mean. But getting angry at them for not reading your mind is completely unacceptable.

Quinton Macejkovic

I think we need to emphasize the culture clash between Laios and Shuro, not just the neurodivergent angle. I agree that clear communication is /essential/, especially with ND loved ones... But the slightest insult could mean /violent deaths/ if Shuro's upbringing is anything like the feudal Japan that's implied. Manners and subtle implications aren't just 'annoying social expectations', they're hard-taught and for good reason. And of all people, Kabru has a /point/ - Laios' gaps in empathy and consequence-thinking could get a LOT of people killed one day (and arguably already has).

Hawk

Get the harpiddies out! This ep was a real explosion of all the built up tension these last few episodes, wonderful action and heart-to-hearts.

cyberspacecat

don't think he's a sociopath, just your typical highly determined "the end justifies the means" type of guy. from what we can tell from what he said in the last episodes and the few snippets we saw when laios offered him that egg dish, his village probably got destroyed by a dungeon that fell into decline (since it wasn't exciting/lucaritve enough anymore to draw enough adventurers to deal with the monsters inside), so now he's hyperfocused on preventing such a thing from happening again at at any cost.

JHow

I'm sorry, but Kabru needs to go. It's all fun and games till the sociopath kills you in your sleep.

CarbonDog

Thank you for the reply

Mason Sutton

I didn’t mind. From his PoV this group of people have been extremely irresponsible and shady. Blindly trusting them doesn’t really guarantee Falin’s safety, or at least, peace.

Lukundra

She does consider it, but wanna focus on the current redemption series first.

Christopher Schwandt

I know this ain't the right place to ask but i don't catch streams to often and i dont have discord just curious alicia or anyone who could answer do you plan on watching the new fallout show on amazon

Mason Sutton

gotta love that shuro and laios are not kiss'a homie they are punch a homie lol

james blaire

13:01 When you have time check out Emily Rudd's (aka Live Action Nami's) performance for Marcille at this part, it's hilarious.

Elias Cristerna

Honestly shuro is probably the most annoying character so far.
