Owl House 3x2

AHHHH

Owl House 3x2

The teleport ability Hunter has isnt Flapjacks. Its Hunters. He did that with his old staff as well it was just red. I think hes gaining magic from flapjack to do that without a staff but that is NOT Flapjacks power.

Immeasurably Me

Early into the show you recognized Luz as being a lot like you when you were younger, so I'm not surprised that her mom is like you in the present XD

Sketchy0w0

It's a shapeshifting snake. A "snakeshifter" is not an established creature, it's a pun. And that's perfect.

0th Law

I'm with you on Boscha. Odalia? Ehhh... Protecting your kids/family only goes so far as a defense. And genocide kinda sorta crosses that line just a teeny tiny bit.

PWAW

The shapeshifting reptile aspect might overlap with basilisks, but the magic-eating side of the basilisk might have been a bit much to give a palisman...

Sanmei

Back in Understanding Willow, we're shown that Amity as a child was told to be friends with Boscha and Skara because their parents are business partners of the Blights, so it's probably no stretch to guess that both of them have their own version of Odalia and young Alador. Skara wises up; there's no reason to think Boscha is completely irredeemable and might have even gotten there on-screen if we'd had a full third season.

Sanmei

I think that's what they may have been intending it to be but then with how they had to nearly cut Vee out of the rest of the season they were worried people would think they were replacing her. Also correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think we've ever seen a palisman take the form of a sentient creature before and they may have also been worreid about those implications too.

Killian_Jones_Hook

Luz's Palisman bothers me every time I rewatch this series. Not the fact that it's a Snake (based on the color of the magic, I honestly expected it to be a Gildersnake; remember that giant black and purple snake Azura was fighting in Luz's book report in episode 1?), that part is perfect; what bothers me is that she goes "She's a Snake-Shifter!" like it makes perfect sense -like it's an already established creature that we're supposed to know about- but it ISN'T. You know what IS a shapeshifting snake that's already been established as a creature in the show and that Luz has a bond with? A BASILISK! I always know what it's gonna be and yet it still always feels like a slap to the face.

Im gonna play the Devil’s Advocate a little bit… -As much as Odalia was a terrible mom and pretty much knowingly helped Belos commit mass genocide, at the very least (like rock-bottom least) she was doing it with her entire family in mind and not just herself. Also… even with the bad shit she’s done… I’m pretty sure neither Alador, Amity or the Twins would want for her to die. -Boscha is annoying, we all know that… but people give her the same treatment as someone like Belos which is not warranted. if this last episode (and that image of her crying after her teammates were captured) is any indication… she does have a heart underneath that mean exterior, she simply needs the right counseling and also a lot of therapy (let’s not forget she’s still just a teenager). If anyone is gonna reply to my comment to try to convince me I’m wrong… don’t even bother, this is my solid opinion and I’m not looking to start a debate.

With it kinda coming full circle in this ep, it's worth pointing out that Luz has been misrememberimg what Camila said In S2E10, Camila asks Luz to promise when she gets home she'll "stay here" - still harsh sounding but with room for interpretation In S2E11, Luz misremembers it as "Stay with me and never go back to that place", which would explain why it's been eating at her as badly as it has been

Fingers crossed for Gravity Falls; it's just two seasons, and it's amazing.

Liesmith

I personally go for Mat Tholomule. But it is a deep philosophical question that may never be answered.

The deep sigh at the kikimora reveal is so relatable!!! That woman is deeply unserious and needs power no matter where it comes from. Her and Basha are a match made in HELL

"Can you tell me a bedtime story?" Proceeds to hand King all of One piece.

All I’m gonna say is, if Camilla had Magic Powers, Belos and Kiki would be wishing for a Chancla after she was through with them.

Now, the big questions remaining is: Is Mattholomules real name Matt Tholomule or Mattholomules Tholomule? There is something deeply sad about the fact that even when she is manipulating a traumatized teenage girl trying to run a high-school, Kikimora ends up as the number 2. I am glad to see someone else comment on it. I have seen a lot of people read Boschas attachment to Amity as being romantic in nature. Which I must admit I don´t really see. I mean, I get how it can be seen that way, and it is most definitely possessive, but I think there is just very little evidence for it throughout the series and even in the moment. To me it reads far more of someone who is used to knowing how their world works, that have completely lost everything and who are desperate to return to some semblance of the former status quo. And since she has been a giant jerk for a long time, and all her friends were turned into puppets, she had no one to be there for her. Which opened her up for easy manipulation for an exploitive adult like Kikimora. Who continues to be the saddest person in this entire series. Which kinda make Boscha fall into the same category as Azula for me, where we are reminded that they are ultimately just teenage girls who are going/have gone through some very traumatic stuff and are trying to cope with their current reality, while being exploited by adults using them for their own agenda. But they are also just giant assholes. So I mainly sympathize with them in short bursts when needed. I wish we had gotten a full season, because you could have had a fun/interesting couple of episodes set in Hexside, exploring Boscha bit further.

I think something especially great about many of the modern depictions of people with neurodivergence, is that it isn´t their entire personality. They have varied personalities, and are all clearly different people from each other. Compared to what little autism rep I remember seeing when young, where if a character had autism or where autism coded, then that were their entire personality. If they didn´t fall into the "weird nerd" characterization. But having so many different personalities, helps reflect that nerudivergence is a spectrum. Which I think is wonderful, because I have met a lot of people who were nerudivergent, who struggled because they thought it looked a very specific way, because that is what they had seen in media.

Ebofa

This episode breaks me everytime, the combination of Hunter not knowing how to tell everyone how he feels, Willow feeling like she has to be the reliable one, and Luz just wanting to be understood is a 3 fold smack to the face of stuff I have dealt with, and still do to some extent.

The Force

Growing up with autism wasn’t easy, especially since none of the shows I watched as a kid seemed to have any characters that were like me. But around the mid 2010’s you started to see characters like Peridot from Steven Universe, Marcy from Amphibia and Norma from Dead End (to name a few) that embodied what it felt to be neurodivergent. I never thought someone like Luz would be the main character of a popular series, but as I watched her quirky behaviour, her struggles to form connections and her journey to find understanding and acceptance from those around her, I never felt more seen in my entire life. Thank you Luz, and thank you Alicia, for reacting to this wonderful series.

Sam Marsh

you know I always forget that Basha was part of the potions track, like you just don't expect it.

Speed1247

I don't think you could blame the Collector for falling for Belos even if Belos didn't have a goated track record for manipulation; Collector's just a widdle baby boi who thinks pinky promise are binding oaths still. I lub him.

Jacob Harmon

Luz' wish is one, if not the most relatable wish a kid or teen can have. Heck, I'm an adult and even I still have that wish. That moment of her realizing what she wanted and also being granted that wish by her mom in that moment is so indescribable beautiful that it made me cry like a baby.

Pixel Kevchen

Have you seen how tall Kikimora is? Very little is beneath her.
