2024-11-08 13:55:36 +0000 UTComg after Kazuma fuses with Sylvia, Megumin's explosion theme changes into a more hopeful and epic rendition as the whole nature of everyone's (especially Kazuma's) view of Megumin and Yunyun changes! The strings and choir go so hard and are changing in a way that reminds me of when Miles gets inspired by his dad during his fight with Kingpin in 'Into The Spiderverse'. After all that, she lets Kazuma decide if she should keep using just explosion magic and he chooses to accept her for everything she is. She genuinely questions if her love for explosion magic mastery is doing her party more harm than good. She gave him the power to change the most important part of her, but he not only respects how much it means to her, he understands it to some degree and accepts all of it. I haven't read the LN yet, but even without the heart cloud, I'm positive this little moment at the picnic is where Megumin starts to really love Kazuma. This series is so goofy and absurd but it knows when to hold that back for moments like these.

Each of the characters has a fundamental flaw. Kazuma's flaw is his dirty mind and how easily he'll fall to temptation.

I remember everyone was memeing at the time because the screenwriter for Pulp fiction reviewed it and called it “the reason cinema exists” I do hope you watch the prequel at some point, whether before or after season 3, it’s extremely fun and introduces a lot of fan favorite characters going forward

2024-05-15 15:08:09 +0000 UTCThis movie actually made me ship Megumin and Kazuma like those two have the most genuine relationship of the whole group and while Kazutrash can see her "as a woman" she's also the only one that can get him to see her and treat her as a person and who likewise seems to reciprocate that treatment. They enable the fuck out of each other allowing both to be the little gremlins and addicts they are, but the only time I see them being genuine good people is with each other.
