They were 17 minimum, and trained deadly warriors. Fully capable of making decisions. More realistically, they were probably 21-22. Old enough to graduate Beacon. And I can see how it sounds bad when Raven says it, bc she makes it sound like he did it without their consent. But he literally asked them, they affirmed as adequately aged adults and he gifted them a power with literally no drawbacks. He didn’t turn them into birds that cosplay as human 90% of the time. They’re just humans who can turn into a bird at will. There’s absolutely no moral dilemma here 😂

2024-05-20 05:15:40 +0000 UTCEpisode 8 is why Weiss' character development in the entire series - especially considering the way she was the racist rich girl back in Vol 1. She really took her promise to Ruby "I'm going to be the best teammate I can be" to heart, to the extent that she's defending Blake - the faunus she used to be so prejudiced against she refused to give the benefit of the doubt - to Yang, the person on Team RWBY that probably cares about Blake the most. Which really makes me smile because all this really defines who Weiss and what she does is in future volumes (not saying what because I don't want to spoil).
