2024-05-29 02:20:33 +0000 UTCI think the saddest thing about the Aoyama family is that last episode, Yuga says he thinks they were more upset than he was at him not being normal. It's a read-between-the-lines assumption from there, but that makes me think Yuga would have been fine without a quirk, but his parents wanted a normal child. It would fall in line with what we're shown, where they want Yuga to do awful things he clearly doesn't want to do, for their sake. It's a twisted dynamic where they clearly love their son, but in spite of who he is or what he wants.

2024-05-25 15:14:58 +0000 UTCTo clarify a bit, since I feel like I wasn't being clear enough, now that I'm thinking about it (english isn't my first language, cut me some slack): I do think the parents and Aoyama himself should be punished, because just like Alicia said, just because you did it unknowingly doesn't mean that you didn't do it at all. I just wanted to bring out the point that in the moment, when he was still a baby, when they got the quirk for him, it just wouldn't have been clear that AFO had bad intentions or any malicious intent to use their child for evil in the future. That is all.

2024-05-25 14:12:51 +0000 UTCI think you're seeing a lot of this stuff with Aoyama with hindsight. You would have no idea what kind of favor AFO asked the parents or what he said at all. Sure, neither do I, but as cunning as he is, I wouldn't expect AFO to just go: "Yeah I want your kid to spy on heroes in the future". It most likely happened years later and then it was already too late to turn back. But whatever, it's hard to prove any of this so it doesn't really matter, either side could be right about this since we have no idea what exactly happened. It is what it is.

Deku getting jumpscared by booba 2. Hawks going "nya" 3. Aizawa with the eyepatch (don't tell me it doesn't make him hotter) 4. Shinso in the post-credit (which I, embarrassingly, missed myself)

2024-05-25 12:49:13 +0000 UTCI think it’s a small detail to know AFO was not public until the Bakago raid, because All might kept him secret before then - so when the parents made the deal they didn’t know better, I personally hold them responsible after USJ onwards. I mostly agree with you but that might clean up some miscommunication.
