Or say... if Black Angus beef (most common American cattle) tastes like beef and Wagyu beef (high value Japanese cattle) tastes like beef, is Black Angus the same as Wagyu? And above all of that, Senshi, who's been dedicating most of his life to food and cooking, should be able to tell any slight differences in the food he has had.

2024-06-11 14:54:47 +0000 UTCThe changeling is really great from a worldbuilding perspective, as it is a fun way to dwell deeper into the differences between the different types of humans in the show. Like how Chilchuck feels his senses are muffled when he is in his divorced-tallman-dad-in-his-late-40ies form (Which might also explain why a lot of the half-foots we see are somewhat high-strung, if they have much stronger senses than most of the other human types).

2024-06-11 11:14:00 +0000 UTCThe author made a chart where she draws how each team member would look as the other types of human, and it is glorious (And a wonderful exercise). I would recommend being careful looking it up through, as it is adjacent to some pretty spoilerly things, so it is easy to get spoiled when searching for it. But people should definitely look it up when they no longer care about that sort of thing. Someone wrote that the fun thing about Elfshi, is that he isn´t really all that different from normal Senshi. It´s just that our perception of him have changed. Because normal Senshi would 100% refuse to carry something if he thought it was too heavy. Just look at the fire trap episode, or how he reacted to Marcille wanting to cast waterwalk on him. And I think it is funny how true that is when you think about it.

2024-06-11 11:11:35 +0000 UTCThe anime left out some fun tidbits, like chilchuck chastising laios for being insensitive during the part with senshi's backstory, or laios comparing the changeling bodyswap to a gatcha game and being upset that he didn't get an SSR roll (he really wanted to know what it feels like being a troll), or laios contemplations on dwarves, like how, despite their superior strength, they apparently all have super weak stamina, which explains why namari, despite being enamoured with black smithing works, never wore any heavy armor (actually no dwarf character does. not namari, nor senshi or any of the characters in his backstory, nor the dwarf in the dark skinned dude's party), or how senshi always immediately seems to sit down, whenever the group takes a break.
