It doesn't ultimately matter since it was just a small scene to get a "hostage" into revealing Ace's cell, but it just struck me as weird since when Ivan did it to the other guy, he was super embarrassed and fled. So I'm assuming Ivan could've used his hormones on the jailer to get them on their side.

2024-06-23 22:34:55 +0000 UTCThis is a dodgy point because there's no way to really tell, for example after going to the gym men often feel much stronger than they actually are or feel they've lost more weight than they have because there body is pumping adrenaline which also pumps dopamine which the brain will connect to what you've just done which is exercise. (This also what causes thrill seekers to enjoy things like sky diving and Roller Coasters). Estrogen, which is likely what was pumped into the guard causes an increase in serotonin and their receptors in the brain which will make you feel good and since Ivankov said "How does it feel to be your true self" her brain would immediately connect the two. But then comes the whole mind over instinct argument which is are we a complete slave to our hormones or can we over come them with enough will power and other emotions and intelligence which leads down an even more complicated road and this comment is already MASSIVE.

2024-06-23 22:18:02 +0000 UTCI just rewatched episode 440 cause I missed the beginning on stream and realised something, if they have entrances on every floor and they made a stop to get Crocodile clothes after freeing him, why not just take Luffy and the New Kama to the first floor. And if they need prisoners why not stealthily open up the cells on each floor, bring the prisoners to the passage and then have everyone rampage through the first floor since everyone would think Luffy and the others are stuck on Level 6.

They're unsettled. But they also know that if the pirates escape, they're going to go do who knows what devilry out in the world. So they HAVE to do something, even if it's only to buy time. We know the characters more intimately, but to the commoner in the One Piece world, pirates are terrifying criminals without exception. That's the kind of stuff that makes a story interesting to me. 😄

Not only would it be a really boring reveal, given how predictable it is, but crocodile also doesn't really seem to concerned with being macho. He just doesn't seem obsessed enough with masculinity and being seeing as a tough guy to be afraid enough of people finding out he used to be a woman for invakov to weaponize that fear against him. It is a fun idea, but not something I'd put any credibility towards.

Granted, it's not frequent or severe enough to stop me from watching, but still not something I'm overly fond of. Although, listening to her reactions over time, I guess that kind of behavior is a remnant from her fighting game commentator days, and the fact that that particular community seems to constantly insult each others as a form of endearment, so it's not like it's meant to be particularly harmful or meanspirited. Still, that kind of behavior is pretty jaring for someone who isn't part of that particular community, but I guess I kinda learned to just ignore it for the most part.

It could be safer to be imprisoned because he’s only in jail to keep him out of the war. He’s a fish man and humans enslave him. Also, I imagine people get angry when you call Dragon ugly is because…why? Why is there a need to constantly say it? It’s weird. It’s very superficial behaviour which is also strange because there’s other characters who are ugly or even “grotesque” but you love. Sure, you don’t know much about Dragon but even here where you have a moment of Dragon always looking to the east to his family showing he loves his family and they’re always in his thoughts you felt the need to say “yeah but you ugly” like, what? It’s fucked up.
