omg why did u say that i can never unhear that now... at gon explosion, maybe not the tone specificlly but the way was exactly like it man...

Pretty sure togashi meant for it to be taken as either or since it was written in two ways in the panel. Both malice AND evolution were used.

Garrus Hay

so many horrible translations during such important moments, that nuke moment where netero says "humans infinite potential for evolution" evolution was supposed to be malice, pitous "his power is now equal to that of the king" it was something like "his fangs now may reach the king"

did you know when your upset enough your yells sound kinda like goofy falling?

I always struggle to come back to this episode... because i find Pitou's character almost as compelling as Meruem's so it is really hard for me to see how she dies. (It also didn't help that i knew Alicia and Azu would be excited about Gon killing Pitou, i guess that is the natural consequence of Pitou's development being so subtle). I truly believe that her "I am sorry" to Gon after she told him Kite is dead was Genuine (also she was telling the truth about Kite being dead), her subtle emotional development has demonstrated it. If Pouf hadn't tricked her into thinking that he had retrieved Komugi.... maybe Pitou would have had a more dignified ending. And it really frustrates me.... because Pitou's death ended up being completely pointless..... she was ready to die at Gon's hands because in her mind that means Gon could no longer harm the King, she was sacrificing herself so Meruem could live... but as we saw both Meruem and Komugi end up dying anyway. But you could say.... that her death at least serves as to fulfill Gon's revenge... but that also ended up being pointless because then we learn that Kite managed to reincarnate/survive, which in turn makes Gon's whole quest for vengeance completely meaningless as well. It's so frustrating knowing that one of my favorite characters couldn't have a death with meaning. it is one of the major reasons why i will never like Gon, even if i know he's an excellent character. Rest in Peace Neferpitou, you will always be remembered as the Best and most loyal of the Royal Guards.... and the one who truly understood who Meruem really is.

Based on what we know, this is Gon at full potential... atleast training wise. Aged to his prime and a version where he has spent all his time training. Straight up one of, if not the strongest thing in the series. Him and the King.

Hisoka: It should've been me! Not her!
