I'm way behind, and knowing everything that happens in this show, and how much Alicia loves her babies, I have a feeling we will see her cry more in this then almost anything else she's ever reacted to.
Also, edit in, I think I also stopped trick or treating around like 11/12. But part of that was that I could never get a good costume, my parents were cheap on that. I'd *still* go trick or treating if it wasn't weird and I could afford good costumes.
Final edit in: I had a teacher who had all the kids bring in their least favorite candies after Halloween and then we exchanged them, cause every kid has stuff they just won't eat but weird things they really like. One kid made a mint in candy corn cause you loved that shit.

I just gotta say when you grow up poor you don’t get to choose what candy you like or when to stop trick or treating for some of us that was the only time we got to try the good candy

I technically never stopped trick or treating because I always went with my baby sister to make sure she had fun and on the days we didn’t get a lot of candy I went to the store the day after and got the big bags when it was on discount

I never understood stood the hate over candy corn I mean yeah it’s not as sweet as the other candies but to say it taste like wax when there are candies made with wax out there it’s people who want to hate stuff that isn’t popular

No, candy corn is considered looser candy because it basically has the same texture (and to some the same flavor) as candle wax.

But Mabel willingly follows him. There's also more episodes where Mabel was the cause but Dipper still needs to sacrifice something for her.

I think we also need to consider how often Dipper is the one getting them into trouble though. For example, this episode was caused by Dipper but Mabel often helps him out.

I feel kinda bad for those two kids. They basically spent their entire Halloween night trying to get candy from Gruncle Stan and he steals the candy they had already gotten.

Your reaction to this episode summed up why I love your reactions. You've got an education in cinema paired with great media literacy, such to the point that you can often predict a plotline, but also when your prediction is wrong, you still enjoy yourself.

They are very much not mutually beneficial. Mabel has never sacrificed anything for Dipper, whereas Dipper has sacrificed multiple times for Mabel.

I stopped trick or treating for candy when I was 18-19. But I still walk the kids of my family to the door in costume although I'm 23 now. I just like watching the kids enjoy it and still getting to show off my costume if I go all out. Some parents insist I take candy even when I turn it down and I just sneak it into my younger brother or one of my nieces bags once we get to the road.

I never went Trick or Treating, my mom is religious and views Halloween as a non-paganistic holiday designed to scare people. "And the Lord did not give us a spirit of fear," as she often tells me. She doesn't mind cute/wholesome costumes or passing out candy. Just nothing that promotes fear or the devil.

"Not S&P Approved". Lmao Do yourself a favor and look on YouTube for Alex Hirsch's *insane* uphill battle for Disney's Standards and Practices (S&P) department. You will and will not be disappointed simultaneously, but the only disappointment you'll feel is with Disney and how they treat these creators

While I've never had the chance to trick or treat living up in a mountain farming community, all my friends did. Personally I never got to have, or even understand/understood the appeal of Halloween.
But the average age seems to be around 14 when most people stop, but depending on family (the larger your family the older you can be when you trick or treat so long as you're doing it in a group with at least one kid) and region you could still be trick or treating.

I stopped trick or treating when i graduated high school and too many of my friends went off to college :( I miss those times when I was younger my mom would hand make my costumes and later I would help and that's how i learned the basics of sewing and costume design.
