HxH Ep 144+145

Just binging this and since its complete I will drop a little knowledge about Ging. He is insanely smart and a master of nen to an absurd degree. He is similar to Chrolo in that he collects Nen Techniques but what he does is a little more over powered. He observes how a Nen ability is used and what Nen is used for it. Then he is able to replicate the said Nen ability even better sometimes than the person using it because his nen is stronger plus he uses it in more diverse ways. The reason he took the punch from Leorio is actually because he was observing the ability and how it was used so he could do it himself and by the time he figured it out it was to late to move so just grit his teeth,

Matthew Martin

Alicia's hate boner for Ging was too hard for her to process that part xD

HappyDoodads

This

Bolo The Wise

No Gin dick riding here! Ging on the other hand.. 🤔

Bolo The Wise

Ging and Alicia are polar opposites, he wants noting to do with his kid meanwhile Alicia wants 12 kids XD

Vincent

Right off the bat putting the disclaimer I Am Not a Ging Apologist, although I do find enjoyment in how much of POS he is lol, but I will say he is misunderstood and I forget if they explain this again but it is stated before that he is a ridiculously shy person when it comes to his true emotions and feelings and is super pouty not because Gon didn't get to do the journey he planned for him, but that they have to reunite in front of a crowd and he has to expose his emotions publicly, which is why he did the thing with the accompany card not because Gon didn't have the guts, but because He didn'

Yes, Cheadle is voiced by Iküe Otani, the voice actress of Chopper. Second… the series has never given any hints as to Ging having some sort of precognition Nen Ability, as far as we know both him and Pariston are just that crazy smart. Pariston knew this would be a very likely outcome because he knows how capable Ging is… so he simply trusted his affirmation that Gon wouldn’t die.

Julio Castillo

but not as much in the fun way like jojo does (saying this w/ nen being my favorite power system)

Yagi di Hoshi

she pretty much already said this at the end of episode 144 lol

Yagi di Hoshi

ginger

Yagi di Hoshi

my whole point here is that all of alicia's complaints so far have been completely valid for a tv show being presented to us. look how under-discussed H×H has been these days in western territories. i wouldn't mind another remake

Yagi di Hoshi

leorio face png yes, it's the manga that's more untouchable

Yagi di Hoshi

Im starting to get so worn out of people putting the 1999 HxH and 2003 FMA on untouchable pedastles.

Duskey

Ging having some kind of precognition would explain why he keeps to himself and loves archeology. Anything else would just be too boring or sad for him. But that has nothing to do with him being the ultimate deadbeat dad.

unknown organism

Bro that wasn’t faith he just didn’t wanna visit his son.

unknown organism

You are a filthy liar. Leorio visited him in the Hospital.

unknown organism

"I want to scream and vomit!" lmao

Lexi

Say what you want but ginger is probably my favorite deadbeat anime dad😭

Eric Diaz

There are very few boys as good as Gon in anime. So yeah, the bad parent of the best boy gets hate.

Miklar Sihn

How much hate Ging gets is always so interesting to me. There are so many worse dads in anime but Ging gets so much hate, from what i see, is because he actually appears again and again showing his lack of interest in parental duties. With others like Ninas dad they appear and then they leave, or they get a redemption arc. To be clear i am in no way saying he isn't a shitty dad but the hate feels so funny because i feel like people actively hate him so much more than actual abusive anime parents.

Stargeryen

One thing you're forgetting, Alicia, is the manga continues past this. The story is setting up these characters for material that the anime doesn't cover. It's easy to forget, but the writing isn't intended for the anime.

MaskedRider

Damnit Yusuke your sons in the room and you still won't Acknowledge him. I love ging he looks like a bummyer Yusuke

Ave, True to caesar

i like your name its neat

Bananalad

I mean Ging has always been honest with Gon. Man straight up left a recording that said I don’t care about you and I don’t want to meet you.

Garnt

Even though this series is coming to a close on this channel, I absolutely loved your reactions till the end. This series is why I’m subscribed to your Patreon

Broccoli Ben

In this episode we see the moment Gon finally sees his father after a long time and not only that but also hugs him.

Gustavo Dantas

Im all for Ging being a deadbeat. But One of the twins from Greedisland called him out for saying Gon isnt strong enough to find him on his own, calling Ging too shy to meet Gons friends instead.

Randomocity732

Ging is a dickhead father for sure. But that's not for his lack of want to see his son. He has THAT MUCH FAITH in Gon. People are easy to read and he has an uncanny knack for that, but ultimately, any "predictions" he makes, are based off of knowing people and how they work, both as a group and individually. Which is likely why he prefers to work in ruins. The ancient past holds genuine mysteries for him where anything involving people just becomes mundane and boring. The excepting being the kid he has his 100% faith in

Martin E Melcher

I dont think alicia ever caught on to that HxH has been yapping the anime from start to finnish

Lightinger

Oh you don't gotta worry it's pretty unanimously agreed that Ging has a prime spot in Anime Hall of Deadbeat Dads, I personally have never seen anyone try to justify, explain or even really try to see if it could be understood.

LusterCandy

Ging dickriding is crazy even everyone else in the series knows he’s an awful father

Ranginald Vagel

when gon used accompany, you see in the flashback that one of gings friends called him out that ging is just too shy to meet anyone besides gon but he acted like "oh if gon is too afraid to see me on his own send him to kite" so he didnt predict wrong he just didnt want to see anyone besides gon

Cyrill Attakpah

The 1999 anime is great in it's own ways, the darker tone is really cool, and yeah sometimes the animation is actually better in the 1999 version, but let's not put it on a pedestal here, it still very much feels dated. The sound design is especially hard to get accustomed to, and the voice actors aren't bad at all but there are times where the 2011 VAs just do that much better of a job, the Kurapika vs Uvogin fight especially. I also don't really see what that part about the 2018 panel proves.

Aye Jaye

Alicia still stuck on the Accompany thing is hilarious to me because it was just because he was embarrassed and she missed them saying it.

Michael

over the last decade i repeatedly kept seeing this get shot down by 'lore' people, but there's a reason i keep recommending peeps the 1999 Hunter×Hunter anime. even with chimera ant being my favorite arc. more consistently fluid animation, & it prioritized showing vs telling, you know...for the animated medium.... to which, the way hxh 2011 is the way it is - maybe for its time early last decade - is also reasonably a cause for backing the case of anime being a niche medium compared to manga for japan itself. there was a whole panel for HxH in May 2018 that had it at #1 trending on Twitter- & they solely discussed the manga - from the infamous Neferpitou & Kite scenes to Gyro's whole series purpose. ON TV IN JAPAN. & nothing even remotely about the anime

Yagi di Hoshi

Because I didn't said it on the last two uploads, I say it now. Welcome back Azu! 🤗
