I think Kaguya-sama/Oshi no Ko author is pretty damn good when it comes to (relatively, still tropefied to an extent vs IRL) realistic portrayal of teenage/young adult characters, and the grittier & dirtier realities that so many anime etc often neglect

Is so sad right after an episode where we were shown Aqua struggles to enjoy acting because of his trauma. And obviously for Melt this episode is amazing, he's a super fun character who actually deserved the success he had in that one minute of acting because he worked so hard for it.

But Melt was the only one who actually seems to have taken it to heart and decided to do something about it. I see the star Melt is chasing in his vision as Aqua whose motif have always been the star in his eye, especially when he flexes his talents. Aquas example is what shattered Melts world and sent him to rock bottom. Melt have been chasing that example ever since. The symbolism was amazing. And we haven't even come to Aqua having to harness his trauma and use it to act.

2024-08-09 21:56:59 +0000 UTCIt's been said all along that the 2.5D Live Stage Play arc is one of the, if not the, best arcs in the entire series... and this is where it really begins to flex. And as good as Melt's redemption was in the manga - it wasn't nearly as good as its anime adaption. The producers completely knocked this episode out of the park.
