I like how at the end, Dipper wasn't all "Aw welp, this crush didn't work out, guess I'll move on, that's the morale for this episode" but instead he was still sad and upset about it. It just felt so much more real and relatable, I really likey.

One of my favorite episodes but I'll never get behind how Mable went about the situation, Even with good intentions she locked Dipper in a room with a murderous shapeshifter. Wendy was a badass in everyway, handled the situation so well.

So the Summerween episode just doesn't exist? At least Mabel in this instance genuinely didn't know Dipper was in danger. Dipper put everyone in danger just because he didn't want to be embarrassed in front of Wendy. Or what about the Gideon Shrinking episode? He genuinely was concerned about being shorter than Mabel when Gideon was actively trying to kill Stan.
Dipper has plenty of times where he's selfish.

So you would shove your sibling in a room and lock the door in a random ass bunker so he would confess his feelings even tho they asked for you to drop it multiple times listen I don’t hate Mable but I hate that she does these things and basically gets off with no consequences while dipper always has big consequences with his action doesn’t mean she is a monster or that I hate her just she doesn’t really get punished for anything just makes fun of dipper and run after boys

what did she do wrong? Mabel was trying to get him to admit his feelings for good or bad. It was the right call.

You know what's crazy? My dad started dating my mom, when he was in high school and she was working there after graduating university. She's 7 years older than him and they are merried for like 40 years now.

Grunkle Stan's wife is kinda canonically Eda from the Owl House. Both shows have cross-over hints for this, and the creator is connected to both shows. It's not a spoiler, it's more behind-the-scenes fun the creators had with their shows.
So you're kind of right, Grunkle Stan's wife is in a different dimension.

They both mean the same thing, but the phrasing is so intentional. Saying he’s too young, even unintentionally, could subconsciously imply that the issue’s on him. Saying she’s too old for him puts the burden off him and onto her. Just, chef’s kiss on how Wendy handled things.

Not really I do hate how Mabel gets off Scott free but this episode specifically they could have died because of Mabel’s actions but like no one calls her out for that dipper has been selfish yes even tho the only episode he is really selfish is the waddles episode but he had consequences Mabel doesn’t ever

I think it's less that Wendy is too old for Dipper, and more that Dipper is too young for Wendy.
That said, I see why she would say the former, as it's less likely to hurt Dipper's feelings.

well...if you've seen the whole show...Technically if both parties consent it would last for about 2...maybe 3 years, give or take a few months. Then another 3 year wait, then it'd be legal again. Depending on their birthdays.

Agreed. For an animated show, the kind of shapeshifting shown here is the best, but in live action you can get so many great performances with a shapeshifter that tries to actively deceive people by taking the form of one of them.

Keeping children naive about how the world works will always backfire on them when they grow up. I loathe the fact that parents do that, whether for religious reasons or not. If knowledge is power, gatekeeping said knowledge is disastrous.

So little headcanon I have in regards to this episode: Wendy mentions she heard the whispers Dipper had under his breath. I like to think in Double Dipper, while she was waiting for the restroom, she noticed Dipper wanted to make small talk with her, so she broke the ice and initiated a conversation, even showing him an embarrassing photo of herself to try to get him to stop putting her on a pedestal.
It’s funny because despite being let down gently, everything Wendy did this episode would’ve made me fall for her even harder, if I was in Dipper’s shoes.
A couple more fun facts:
The zipper thing Wendy did this episode was a callback to something Dipper did in the first Wendy focused episode where Dipper promised not to tell on Wendy about her secret breaks on the roof. It works as its own thing in this episode, but works as a neat callback.
Also, take note the Shapeshifter when pretending to be Wendy winked with her right eye. It comes back later…

I like this kind of shapeshifting story, where the shapeshifter is an absolute monstrosity like The Thing.
I also like the shapeshifting and body swap stories in live-action, when they give the actors room to act outside their usual character.

the thing about stan's "Dead Wife" in another dimension...
Since Owl House is over, I'm sure I can safely say this: There's a running gag that Eda is Stan's ex wife; Though this is all just speculation and the creators have never confirmed this.

I can see the critiques for shapeshifters. I guess I just like the idea of this entity that can impersonate and do whatever it wants as you; cause havoc, Rob a bank, murder, whatever. And sure YOU know you wouldn't do that and your FRIENDS hopefully know you wouldn't do that. Bit like how do you even explain this to anyone else? I guess I like the drama that can come from it, and the strategies one has to make to catch it.
