2024-08-25 04:16:31 +0000 UTCI know that everyone has their opinions and takes.... but i believe the anime encapsulated what Togashi was aiming for in the manga in the best way possible. And of course i know it isn't perfect, there are some things that i still don't love.... like the fact they completely cut off Kite's meeting with Gon from the beginning of the manga, the goofy censorship in the first half of the anime, the omition of some really interesting context and information about Meteor City and the Phantom Troupe, etc. And i also agree on some of the pacing issues, like some of the middle parts of the Greed Island and Chimera Ant arcs. However i do not agree on the sentiment that the way the Palace Invasion was handled was bad like so many people claim (except on the Pouf and Morel encounter inside Smoky Jail, that was dragged more than it needed to), the narrator was definetely necessary in order to really convey what was happening to the characters on a psycological level. I believe it is one of those very few instances where Telling and not just showing works. But even with it's flaws i still think HunterxHunter is an immaculate work of Art, it's on the same realm of Greatness as One Piece and Fullmetal Alchemist. At the very least it is definetely my favorite of those 3. Also... just saying..... im certain you woul've enjoyed the final scenes of this anime A LOT MORE if you hadn't skipped the opening so many times. i get it... you were trying to avoid spoilers.... but the Song "Departure" hits soooo hard when you start hearing it at the end after listening to it all the way through from the beginning.

I had the same feelings about the pacing the first time I watched the show but on a rewatch you "get" some of the sub plots going on, making some of the slower parts feel a bit more interesting. Wouldn't say it's perfect, but I can definately understand more why they kept those parts in the show. It's definatelly in my top 5 or 10 shows.

2024-08-14 19:59:06 +0000 UTCThe thing about the Hunter x Hunter anime is that the election arc is an awkward place to end it, but the next arc is too big to continue the story and isn't even finished in the manga. There's a small arc in between but I think that wouldn't be a good end to the anime either.

The kiosk where Gon talks and presents his card, there is a little dog on the Left. Like how Oda draws himself as a fish, that's the Mangaks inserting himself at the final episode.

2024-08-14 15:06:33 +0000 UTCI really liked what they did with Youpi. It really adds to the tragedy of the chimera ant arc of the hunters not being able to reconcile with the king and his group. Youpi and the King and even Pitou to some extent were so close to at least having a neutral relationship with humans but the bomb (representing humanity's greatest evil) but an abrupt end to that development.

I'm also autistic so I just hook onto things easier, The reason for the hiatises is because of togashis health, like there were points were he needed assistance to wipe, so I hope you're not blaming him for them. Also the "filler" episode is not filler

2024-08-14 13:13:39 +0000 UTCI think the elction arc would probably have had the same problems in the manga. Too many new characters who we just didn't care about. Sometimes the mangaka just gets bored and wants to draw new characters, and it's to the detriment of the anime and the reading experience. They would have done a lot better to cut out as much as possible of the election element and focus solely on Hisoka and the butlers, Illumi, and Killua's efforts to save Gon. (Plus Leorio and Ging, of course). I understand why some people don't like Greed Island, but I've never seen the problem there as one of pacing. It's just that some people don't enjoy the subject matter. I've heard differing opinions about the pacing of the Chimera Ant Arc. It definitely has a slow build up, but for me, that only emphases the danger of the opponents and the difficulty of defeating them. If you can do it quickly, then they weren't much of an enemy anyway. Possible tiny spoiler re Hisoka/Chrollo: Unfortunatly, Chrollo/Hisoka fight has not been animated, but you will find it in the manga. Obviously, won't tell you anything about the fight or its consequences.

I won’t argue against points that are slow, but I think the series is enjoyed much more when binged like how you do it because when episodes come out only weekly, you just want more.
