Her sentiment of sacrificing the puppet show for Dipper was still important tho, and even if Gabe wasn’t a creep she would have brushed it off afterwards, that’s the kind of person she is

That was what irked me about her behavior.

I mean sure the puppet thing is weird but damn that seems more concerning than him making out with puppets? why do you think he does shows in libraries to kids despite being rich? why do you think he includes intimacy in the play to show the kids it's normal. I think he was a subtle commentary in people in general small time children intertainment being predators. I mean, he even did scumbag manipulation tactics to make her chase after him, talking about a girl he denied cuz she wasn't good enough, saying that if she proves herself he'd give her a ride. It was pretty obvious how creepy and predatory this guy was.

I did recently see the shows creator showed off what the password for the puzzle in one of the gravity falls books actually is at some point but I don't know if it has any bearing on the show.

He can only do so much within the confines of the dream realm. Kinda like how Dipper was. He can watch but not interfere unless given permission AKA the handshake or summoning. The Book of Bill and Gravity Falls Journal books somewhat clarify what bill is and why he exists. But let's just say it's not a Faustian deal with the devil but rather a one sided trick from a demon who's a very good at lying.

2024-08-18 11:50:49 +0000 UTCExtremely disturbing Bill fact about this episode: the creator, Alex Hirsch, included a note from Bill written while he was inhabiting Dipper's body in one of the supplementary texts for the series ("Journal 3"). In the note, Bill says that after he destroys the journal he plans to throw Dipper's body off the water tower, leaving his friends and family to believe Dipper's obsession with the mysteries of the town led to him losing his mind and becoming suicidal. It ends with the ominous line "Want to join him, Shooting Star?"
