Not to mention the entire episode was about sooz learning to communicate, but he ultimately just burned his robot girlfriend to death. Just feels like sooz learned absolutely nothing. The way he broke up was also just horrible. For a episode where sooz was supposed to learn communication there wasn't really a lot of communication going on.

And IIRC, this episode also coincidentally came out at roughly the same time that "Doki Doki Literature Club" did (far too recently that it was obvious neither side copied the other).

That said, I could definitely see the creator spinning it a different way if they wanted to. Her programmers _did_ try to delete her, so anything she did to them might have been self-defense. Of course, past trauma doesn't excuse being toxic, but maybe at least would explain it and make her potentially redeemable? But as it's written, it's fine. Hell, the creator could even bring her back if he wanted to. "AI made a backup of itself" is pretty much a trope.

I don't think any male character being like that to a female character, would ever be something that could be defended. I don't think she should have been given a better ending.
