Most accurate representation of pretty much ALL One Piece fans when they saw this episode after REALLY wanting Jinbei to join the crew. We were all SO MAD at them for doing that shit but, we were still happy cuz he said yes.

This isn’t exactly a spoiler, but it’s something worth pondering: Why did Joy Boy choose to write a letter of apology instead of apologizing in person? It’s quite possible that Poseidon was no longer alive, perhaps even assassinated by the world government, since her power was crucial to Joy Boy’s ultimate plan. Without her abilities, no one could bring Noah to the surface. Additionally, Rayleigh mentioned back in Sabaody that they might have rushed things a bit (could it be because that Shirahoshi hadn’t been born yet?).

There is at least some actual trans characyers, and curiosly, is as Lewd Angel says, drag exagerate the makeup and dressing, while trans just dress like other gender or are ambiguosly dressing, like Inazuma(sizors hands), which doesnt dress so exagerated as other okamas in impel down or on the island, but we do see them as both male and female form on different moments of the arc So maybe you are into something there, for jaoanese perspective, drags are exhibitionist on a way, while trans are just 'normal' people who dont want that much of attention as the drags who make shows like ivankov (who is both, drag and trans) Funfavt: the actor for koby in the liveaction is a trans man

Imma be real witchu here, you've overthinking it, and anyone who gets that message is severely overthinking it. Everyone there is in drag, the people with Ivankov are trans, therefore once Ivankov arrives its mixed with drag and trans people. Furthermore, people who do drag intentionally don't make themselves look generally beautiful looking, its always exaggerated, hence the series exaggerates it too. If you find something offensive about how the show depicts them, im sorry to say you're definitely projecting too much onto yourself. I see this a lot with ppl in the LGBT community, and its super unnecessary

I still dispute the idea that everyone in the Kamabakka Kingdom is doing drag. Doing drag 24/7, 365 days a year, on an island ruled over by a HRT powered monarch, where the narrator describes the island as "an island where everyone has the heart of a maiden," which is word for word how trans people are described in Japan? I dunno, I think some people are coping by saying it's "just drag". I know that's where the exaggerated, stereotypical look they have comes from, and it's true that they seem to choose not to use HRT even when it's available, but accidentally on the author's part of not, there's _something_ trans going on there. Sometimes I can't help feeling that people are coping and trying to protect the show from criticism by insisting that they're "just doing drag". Which has the unfortunate side effect of telling actual trans people to stop feeling bad about the depiction, which is pretty messed up if you think about it. "They're not even trans so it's not transphobic so shut up trans people."
