You should totally google at some point or go rewatch all the episodes, because there were actually hints and clues at Stan having a brother throughout almost every previous episode of gravity falls. one of which for example was stan picking up a pair of old glasses from the secret room in the body swap episode.

I thought Alicia also figured it out from the clues, the fact that she didn't and was completely shocked has made this one of the best reactions I've seen in a while
