To be fair to the guy upset about the Oregon jokes, you gotta be pretty attached to stay in Oregon. lol

2024-09-04 10:26:26 +0000 UTC"I had a person take offense to me shitting on Oregon" Wow, the one person living in Oregon watches your channel!

2024-09-02 21:00:23 +0000 UTCA tale of two stans, one can’t say “thank you” and the other can’t say “please”.

2024-09-01 14:20:13 +0000 UTCAlso the shop owners selling Stan the loaf of bread are the ghost shop owners from the haunted convenience store episode.

2024-08-29 07:01:45 +0000 UTCYeah no I absolutely will hate on the parents; Ford I don't blame for being upset, he's allowed that. And if given time and a chance, he might've heard Stan out later, to at least have an explanation and know it wasn't intentional. The parents throwing their kid out for a legit mistake when they only saw it as a money ticket for themselves instead of Ford's chance at a greater life, is inexcusable.

2024-08-28 16:14:46 +0000 UTCStanford and Stanleys father was one of the biggest hypocrites i've seen, blaming Stanley for "riding on his brothers coattails" when he literally just wants Stanford to succeed so he can use his sons money

2024-08-28 00:47:37 +0000 UTCOh nice. I do like the mountains and streams up there. I'm near the pine barrens across from LBI. Not much mountain here, but sure is a lot of trees. : )

2024-08-27 21:35:09 +0000 UTCso for those of you who missed this at about 33.10, I missed it entirely and you can notice it way SOONER....but.... well I guess I won't say

2024-08-27 21:08:07 +0000 UTCYup a New Jersian here too, live smack dab in the woodsey mountains in North Jersey.

2024-08-27 21:04:25 +0000 UTCI mean Stanley was probably there because he goes to the school. If he is anything like me I used to wander the halls when I was stressed about something. I don't think he went to the machine on purpose.
YukoValis
2024-08-27 20:59:22 +0000 UTCI'm kind of on Stanleys side, if all it took to break the machine was slamming his fist on the table then the machine clearly had some serious structural issues and was bound to fail on its own eventually.

2024-08-27 20:32:48 +0000 UTCI am a proud central New Jersian. We have some of the most beautiful places in the country here. We also have THE ugliest cities. Anyone who visited only the cities did not visit true NJ. I have to say those beaches in this episode look exactly like how they do here. We have fenced off dunes to protect several protected animals and plant life.

2024-08-27 17:59:54 +0000 UTCend credits code, please don't post answer. I would recommend looking up a cipher site and not just google it. (Vigenère cipher. Requires passkey hidden in episode) "TIZOLHAJSIW CKMMWZPMKQ: GLY KJQBH" (This one does contain a spoiler)

2024-08-27 17:57:12 +0000 UTCThey say Oregon is where relationships go to die. I don't like to believe such stereotypes, but the only time I went to Oregon it ended the relationship I was in, so *shrug*

2024-08-27 17:55:50 +0000 UTCLol, of course the Stans have a younger brother. Who would Dipper and Mabel be the grandchildren of if they didn't.

2024-08-27 17:50:36 +0000 UTCBecause West Coast Tech came with a scholarship, and they probably couldn't afford anything better than Backupsmore

2024-08-27 17:43:30 +0000 UTCGonna disagree on the state pride thing. Like it's not only about being born somewhere it's about your chosen home and sometimes that does change other times it will be the same place you were born, people who love Oregon don't love it because it's their birthplace or cause their ancestors lived there (but both reasons are also justified). They love it cause it's the place they made their home or found some form of peace or happiness.

2024-08-27 17:20:43 +0000 UTCWas it just me or did “Staniel” make anyone else bust a gut
Ranginald Vagel
2024-08-27 16:50:18 +0000 UTCNah, I prefer it this way. It would have been near-impossible to sympathize with him if he had done it on purpose. This way, both of their sides are understandable. As Alycia said, both of the brothers are flawed in different ways.
Malcolm Ferguson
2024-08-27 16:48:19 +0000 UTCOn one hand I am so happy that JK Simmons (the best J Jonah Jameson ) voiced Stanford, but on the other hand…It is weird when twin brothers has drastically different voices. They do not sound same at all.

2024-08-27 15:50:57 +0000 UTCI never would have guessed that Stan’s brother was Omni-Man!

2024-08-27 15:10:46 +0000 UTCWhy didn’t ford apply to other colleges? With his mind, I’m sure he could have put more eggs in other baskets as well. I’m sure there were plenty of colleges that would’ve accepted him. Maybe his dad was cheap with that application money. Also, His dad only cared about the money. Not Stanford’s dreams, just more money

2024-08-27 15:07:32 +0000 UTCYou called him Staniel when they wrote their names lol
Immeasurably Me
2024-08-27 14:46:53 +0000 UTCI like it. Stan isn't heartless enough to actually go through with that kind of life altering sabotage against his brother. But he's definitely reckless enough to throw a tantrum right next to the machine and break it by accident.
Alex H. Larsen
2024-08-27 14:25:28 +0000 UTCThe glasses were definitely Ford's, specifically the pair left behind on the ground after the portal incident. You can see Stan lying on the couch in that secret room holding the glasses right afterwards.

2024-08-27 14:20:56 +0000 UTCGlad you are getting better!
Losowa Istota
2024-08-27 14:11:37 +0000 UTCthe younger sibling baby in the background in the flashback is Shermie who is Dippers and Mables grandpa (remember Stan and Stan are their Great Uncles)

2024-08-27 13:45:42 +0000 UTCYeah, the situation i know of where it happens a lot is religious disagreements in families. There we have cases of 14-16 year olds getting disowned and ignored by their families.
Miklar Sihn
2024-08-27 13:26:19 +0000 UTCPuppies made of ice cream sounds horrifying on several levels. Their short life expectancy. The part where they might rot alive. The fact that they will start off making you hungry when you see them, then disgust you when you see them. The part where actually petting them would suck.
Miklar Sihn
2024-08-27 13:24:49 +0000 UTCI'll be the devil's advocate and say I kind of see where Ford is coming from. Dude spent most of his youth in that research, to see it all burned would be soul-crushing.

2024-08-27 13:22:47 +0000 UTCThis was so cathartic to watch, finally figuring out everything about the author.

2024-08-27 12:55:59 +0000 UTCWe stan the stans in this house. I will also mention that the attack just after the intro is clearly the effect of an enemy stan. As a sidenote, above all others, we stan soos.
Miklar Sihn
2024-08-27 12:46:20 +0000 UTCThe Omniman impersonation is hilarious because Stanford Pines is the same voice actor: J.K. Simmons.

2024-08-27 12:43:19 +0000 UTCIf you've got 4 hours of freetime, there's a video analyzing this episode in great detail, contextualized with the ancillary books and ARGs.
Marion Ette
2024-08-27 12:39:38 +0000 UTCYeah the writings of stan accidentally breaking the machine rather than fully committing to just having him break it out of fear is a bit of a weak point in the writing.
vincent shiflett
2024-08-27 12:25:16 +0000 UTCI know you're not gonna do it, but rewatching the series after this plot twist or just after having watched it once is insane. They knew what they were doing and where they were going from the first second of episode one
Rueduciel
2024-08-27 12:01:33 +0000 UTCThe Spider-Man joke is accurate since Ford is played by J.K. Simons
Prince of the Saiyans
2024-08-27 11:51:10 +0000 UTCIn the beginning Stan tells Ford “These are Shermie’s grandkids” which would be the baby we see when Stan gets kicked out
Prince of the Saiyans
2024-08-27 11:50:27 +0000 UTCTheir younger sibling must be where dipper and mabel came from, huh?
Lexi
2024-08-27 11:22:02 +0000 UTCAnd now that it's come full circle, this puts some previous scenes, namely from Season 1, in a way new light. Stan walking in on a near identical wax replica of himself already has some new undertones given that the last time he walkwd into a room and saw himself, it was his twin,, but then the mourning and funeral definitely pick up a new vibe Then in the body swap episode, when they find the new room, Stan picks up a pair of glasses and sits in his chair pensively. Iirc he says he didn't know about the room, so presumably those are Ford's glasses

2024-08-27 11:16:32 +0000 UTCIn my town there are a lot of people who throw out their children at 18 to let them grow up and it's really disgusting. Especially with children with mental illnesses that happens a lot. Somehow the parents think their problems will magically fix themselves if they throw them out. It's really disgusting and can absolutely ruin lifes.
Lektro
2024-08-27 11:09:53 +0000 UTCI wonder if the reason Ford didn't want his journal destroyed even though he wanted it hidden has anything to do how his motion machine was destroyed. Knowing your life's work will just cease to exist, even if it's technically the right decision, probably isn't an easy choice, that and it was Stan doing it, who even if it was an accident, did destroy a previous lifecl changing invention he made.
