I think it has more to do with the fact that Goku contents himself with a simple life, and doesn't really seek out relationships beyond those who are in his immediate vicinity. He moved out into the country with Chichi and Ox King, and didn't really go anywhere after that. Think of it this way, just like he didn't reach out to Krillin or Bulma for that duration, they didn't reach out to him, either.

If you're going to watch Yugioh Abridged, you need to take a look at Pokemon 'Bridged, by 1KidsEntertainment, as well. DBZA, YGOA, and Pokemon 'Bridged were the holy trinity of abridged series back in the late '00s. Hellsing Ultimate Abridged is also well worth watching; it was also done by Team Four Star.

I believe you should do a Patreon video only for ten episodes per videos BUT you should include the movies and extra videos that premiere during those stretches. Tbf with the writing, it's mostly a mix of it being dated, them being one of the first/well known to even attempt this kind format of content, and the quality itself being night and day past season 2... I know people quote this all the time, but I rly can't be mad at early dbza, it's really surprisingly decent even on its own, even with everything else mentioned going against it.

but also the idea of calling them TeamFourStar was also representing the 4 Star dragon ball as its very special to Goku in the Anime since it was his grand father Gohan gave him. Which is why 4 star dragon ball had an importance in the story and TFS made it their name.

I'm gonna say, when you get done with this, i'd highly recommend Hellsing Ultimate Abridged 35:19 Phil Ken Sebben. The version of Falcon 7 from Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law. you're in for a treat for the rest of this series though. Most agree this is the worst written season of the abridged series. so, considering how much it had you laughing, and how it still holds up....

Just for a base reference, TeamFourStar was three guys that met online and came together to make this happen. The fourth "star" was a British fellow by the name of Lawrence "MasakoX" Simpson. He was the first person they recruited and voices both Goku and Gohan to perfection. Here's a little summary of each of their involvement in the process. (forgive me if I forget something worth mentioning) Scott "KaiserNeko" Frerichs - Director, editor, writer. Voices Trunks as well as many side characters Nick "Lanipator" Landis - Assistant director, writer. Voices Krillin, Piccolo, Vegeta, and numerous side characters Curtis "Takahata101" Arnott - Assistant director, writer. Voices Nappa, Guru, Bardock, Dende, Cell, and some side characters.

Small correction: Goku did say he was 14 when first asked in an earlier chapter, but at the 21st world tournament he corrects himself and says he's 12. He explains that he "hadn't learned to count that high at the time". It's possible he was actually only 11 at the beginning of the story, considering how much time passed between then and the tournament. But even at the 22nd tournament and subsequent King Piccolo arc when he's 15, he's still only slightly taller than he started, so yeah. It wasn't until he was 18 that we saw him have a real growth spurt.

The Canadian subtitles were set up for their fans to write in extra jokes and nods. I have no idea why YouTube totally nixed that feature. I used it all the time to write subtitles for people and helped a lot of content creators be more readily accessible for hearing impaired folks.

At the start of Dragonball, Goku is 14 years old. He looks so young because Saiyans hit puberty later than humans. They'll then shoot up super quick, but then age muuuch more slowly so their bodies are in peak-fighting shape for as much of their lives as possible. Yes, this means that Gohan was 3 years younger when he was fighting Cell.

The Raditz fourth wall break: There are two bits of subtext behind this. 1. There were two voice actors that wanted to do Raditz. 2. In different versions of the English dub, there were two different names for the attack that he mentions. One is the "double sunday" and the other is "keep your eye on the birdy". Them switching from one line to the other was a *very* meta joke on the writing/acting process as a whole.

The show begins as a fun, of-its-time internet humor abridged series on YouTube and ends up as a truly transformative parody series that is made with so much love and respect for the source material, they outright do some moments in the series arguably better than in the original and god damn is its quality tear inducing

So part of the Popo thing is that he is always way more powerful than expected, but doesn't do anything. After Goku defeats the world's greatest threat in the original DB, he gets invited to the Lookout, and Popo easily crushes him. (Why didn't Popo to anything?). Later on, he fights 2 Super Saiyans (Goten and Trunks) at the same time. And while he seems concerned, he handles himself with them well. Like, how can he keep up with 2 Super Saiyans, when he's not a fighter?

Yep. The second season is golden, and the third season has some legitimately great writing choices. There was a brief period where TFS thought the word 'triggered' was the funniest thing in the world, and I'm glad that stayed largely relegated to their side content and didn't leak into DBZA.

When I was a kid watching DBZ air on Sturday mornings, when it got to the part where Cell exploded, I didn’t actually see that episode. I saw the episode after not knowing how Cell became Perfect again, so I half convinced myself that he absorbed Goku through his tail.
