2024-09-29 21:22:44 +0000 UTCi am also one of those people who will defend it. i think the drastic change of "the different adventures where it feels like nothing stays the same, and it's got that South Park oh it's just another day, the last adventure didn't matter" thing, but then it started developing into multiple episode arcs, stuff was starting to matter from previous episodes when continuing the show, as well as a lot of intense storylines was just not something a lot of people were prepared for.

2024-09-12 16:56:13 +0000 UTCI still highly recommend watching a compilation of the songs from the show when you get a chance; this series in particular, it definitely has some extremely good episodes strewn throughout inbetween some very fillery episodes of virtually no consequence, especially in the first few seasons. Heck, much of the lore in the first season is quickly retconned and contradicted in later seasons, to the point the wiki will mention as much lol

Rebecca's work was always amazing for a long time even shows she worked on before her leap too cartoon network.

She's just saying what is objectively true in this situation, and does try to frame it positively as him helping her breakthrough. But, like many long running cartoons, it takes a while before it starts to delve into it's characters. I recommend sticking around and falling in love with this series as the characters slowly start to grow more complex.

I felt the same way the first time i tried watching it and i had several false starts. But enough people kept talking about how insanely good it was that i kept going and these days i truly think it is one of the best written cartoons of all time.
