One piece of advice, you won't be missing out on anything if you skip mid-episode recap. I know you already do that but it gets pretty bad at some points of this arc so feel free to be a bit trigger happy with it.

Whole filler arcs are firmly in the "could have happened between islands" bag, and don't add or progress the plot of the show in any meaningful way. It's fine to like them, but they really don't add much to, and often detract from, the main story.

The next few arcs are great, but the anime pacing from here on is almost torture-like for most people. Again, if not for you - great, but also again, she already complained when it was nowhere near how bad it's going to get. She would enjoy it a lot more if she watched One Pace.

They were right on the heels of the manga and refused to go seasonal or do mid-arc filler. Dressrosa is the arc where I quit watching weekly and went in to binge the entire arc later. Also, the new characters in Dressrosa are almost universally fire.

Also I'm not saying the anime doesn't have bad pacing in places, traveling Alabasta's desert, Sky Island, Punk Hazard, these do have bad pacing stretching things out way beyond what they should even spending an entire episode on establishing one thing. However the next arc is not one of them and I can't say why because that will actually spoil something.

But overall, it's... Bad. So bad in fact, that a dedicated group of fans took it upon themselves to fix it as much as they can. So bad, that they are remaking it while it's still ongoing, and people are exited for the remake. If you don't see it, good for you, really. But Alicia clearly does. She's obviously annoyed by it, and it's going to get worse. I'm confident at this point she would enjoy Dressrosa a lot more if she watched the One Pace version. If she really wants, she can switch back to watch the original anime specifically for whatever extra content (you should probably edit the spoiler there btw) is worth watching.

Also call it sacrilege if you want but I don't treat the manga as above anime, yes you sometimes get a Fishman Island where they added something that damaged the story (Hody's Backstory) but then you have something like Sabo's entire story which was not in the manga and would have been completely lost. Also look up Luffy's hat as a human which was in the manga, sometimes the manga messes up.

And I don't see how how taking a 2 minute break after every page would somehow make it better, which is pretty much what the anime does lol. One Pace is honestly still too slow honestly, but it's as fast as it can be while using the original anime and keeping all the content and maintaining maximum immersion. Still has plenty of "edging" material. Edging longer makes it better when you nut but only to some extent. And if you keep stopping for long periods of time you're just making it worse. Plus Alicia clearly has issues with it. That's mostly why I'm bringing it up. And you know it's only getting worse and worse from here.

They keep everything that was in the manga, so you really don't lose anything. The "certain parts" are still there. Whatever you're thinking of.

If you don't care about the place or the people in the arc you may as well skip to the fight but that is a huge disservice to some amazing or hilarious characters. People just get obsessed with power scaling, big names and want to ignore new characters because they aren't the straw hats or don't have a title like Warlord and Yonkou/Emperor. I honestly think I wouldn't care nearly as much about this arc if they didn't do what they did.
