Black Lagoon is NOT set in then-modern day 2006 lol. It takes place in the early to mid 90s. So 50 grand would be worth a good bit more than it was today.

I am not calling for "nicer treatment of Nazis here" but I do want to point out a misconception. The only real Nazi on the Uboat was the SS officer with the painting. The others were just soldiers of the German army, who likely were already serving when the Nazis seized power and thus basically had to take part in the war, lest they be branded traitors and them and their families possibly executed or at the very least expatriated and forced to flee. It even shows here with the captain that many soldiers did not share the views of the Nazis and it was more a case of "my country, right or wrong". To call every German soldier in WWII a Nazi is just a bit uneducated. Now, when we're talking about the modern-day ones on the White Heather, yeah, those guys all deserve tunnels in their heads.

the subs aren't bad, they just follow the Japanese dialog instead of the super crude, profane English dialog

YEAH! Let's go! I prefer the sub, but the dub is really good, also it kinda makes more sense, since contextually they're speaking English. The sound mixing is just a bit worse, the dialog is difficult to hear sometimes.
