It's actually the number of the leader. Chinjao was the 12 leader now retired and sai is the 13 leader. It said it at some point in their reintroduction again during the match.

And Jean is pretty much every RPG player ever with how loot happy he is. Only difference is that he is actually willing to use his items, instead of saving them for a better occasion, that never comes. Sadly it doesn´t help him. Which in my mind justifies me never ever using my items, because I might need them later.

It's not just going the wrong way that someone tells him, he literally has someone telling him which way to go with him and they specifically call out the number of times he goes the wrong way. It's like following the route on a GPS but when it says turn right, he goes left.
