Vex: Feels like she's a bad omen. Despite caring for her partner, she doesn't want a relationship. Percy: Respects her feelings on the matter and accepts that they can't be right now what he wants them to be. Handles things maturely. Vax: Literally has a vision of fate showing him the horror and pain that would occur. Despite caring for his partner, he doesn't want a relationship. Keyleth: Blames him for it, acts like he doesn't care about her, and gives him the cold shoulder. I get that Kiki is a lot more insecure than Percy, but starting a relationship is a two way affair, and if either party isn't comfortable with it than there's nothing to criticize about not going for it.

2024-11-07 23:26:09 +0000 UTC@BecketBaladas because it's them putting conditions on things they have no say on. I'm not saying that Keyleth has a right to be in a relationship with Vax that overrides his choices. (I have no clue how you interpreted that). What I said was that Vax making a choice based on his own emotions was valid, while making them because he doesn't want Keyleth to feel a certain way is completely stepping on Keyleth's choice about whether or not she's willing to go through the pain of losing them eventually. They don't HAVE to be in a relationship, but Vax is disrespecting Keyleth in this instance, by making **her** choice for her. (Again, he is obviously not obligated to it, but his reasoning is selfish, not compassionate)

2024-11-07 18:26:28 +0000 UTCIt's specifically him making his own decision. I didn't really like the whole "making decisions for her" bit, as if a relationship was a decision she could make without him. Same the other way around, mind you.

2024-10-05 05:51:57 +0000 UTC@Quinton Macejkovic how is Vax and Vex saying that they don't want to be in a relationship with their respective love interests because it might hurt them not still a statement about the twins willingness to be in a relationship tho? Like how would that work if you think it a single step further? Keyleth wants to be in a relationship with Vax and thus Vax has to want to as well regardless of whether he*actually* wants to? I get that they are both kinda also deciding for their potential partner there, but that's literally how any relationship works - if it's not an emphatic "Yes, I want to be in a romantic relationship with you" from *both* people, then it doesn't work - it's an "and" function, not an "or" function, you need two yes' to get going...

2024-10-05 01:18:29 +0000 UTCFWIW your point of "the twins may be doing this because of their trauma" is definitely valid since this happens a lot in real life too, so the nuance is definitely there :)

2024-10-04 17:41:44 +0000 UTCIf Vax had said something like "I'm not ready to establish a relationship because I'm afraid I'll go through the same thing I went through with my mom.", that would have been him healthily drawing a boundary; but that isn't what he did, his framing was that of "I'm doing this for you, so you should agree with me". He may be trying to avoid Keyleth grieving over them in the future, but that's simply not his responsibility, nor is it something he's allowed to do. It's up to Keyleth, and only Keyleth, to decide whether or not she's ok with taking on the relationship she's guaranteed to mourn one day. Even if she does regret it later, the choice should always be up to her. (I forget what Vex's thing was but the same applies)

2024-10-04 17:33:43 +0000 UTCThat . . . Is a good question since dragons aren't mammals (tho they kinda' are since they can just turn into a human, give birth, turn into dragon again)

2024-10-04 14:23:05 +0000 UTCDudeeee I remember watching the actual campaign and almost spitting out my water when Vex said something like "you open the door and she is completely naked" LMAO

2024-10-04 14:21:53 +0000 UTCI was suprised at the parralells they were drawing between Dhola and the afformentioned 8th player. A red dragonborn sorcerer who's salty over allura's relationship and isnt happy that they went on to be sucessful while they faded into obscurity...

2024-10-04 08:27:21 +0000 UTCIs it really them making a decision for the other person? Or is it them being afraid of losing someone close like they did their mother?

2024-10-04 05:43:58 +0000 UTCFun fact, that whole section of Percy getting to Vex's door is pretty much played exactly the same from the campaign, including the tone of voice. I think the only thing missing is Percy enumerating bottles as he pulls them out of his bag, including one called "Courage", and finishing it by "We'll start with the Courage"

2024-10-03 15:56:00 +0000 UTCLittle history about this point in the campaign. No spoilers During the first portion of the campaign up until just before entering Whitestone under the control of the Briarwoods, there was actually an 8th player playing a dragonborn. This player left due to not working well with the other players and DM. When the party got to this point in the campaign, Mat (DM) decided to use this place with the dragon as an opportunity to send off the 8th player's character when the dragon killed him given that the character was still a friend of the party.

2024-10-03 12:24:19 +0000 UTCDamn bro the twins have relationships issues… Who would’ve thought that losing your home, being abused and neglected, dying once, being mind controlled by an incel, seeing visions of loved ones crying over your death, and owning a bear would make your love life a little turbulent?
