In the original story Bev cleaned the blood up several times by herself but it always came back. After the group cleaned it up together, it didn't come back. I'm not that smart about story telling but I think that was supposed to show that their bond as a group was stronger than Pennywise.

2025-01-22 02:03:52 +0000 UTCFun little tidbit that isn’t a spoiler for IT Chapter 2: The adult actors were actually chosen by the child actors from Chapter 1.

2024-11-12 16:36:12 +0000 UTCThe funny thing is that something that makes Pennywise's face more eerie is that it's eyes are looking apart... and that is NOT cgi. Bill Skasgard can do that, and often teased ppl in the set with it.

2024-10-14 01:56:24 +0000 UTCI took my son to see this in the theater. I had read the book and seen the mini series back when i was a kid. I always find it crazy that you kids all grew up never knowing about these Stephen King stories.

2024-10-10 04:16:06 +0000 UTCI actually never watched IT, and now I'm sad I didn't see it sooner. I love that it isn't a horror movie for the sake of horror, that was very well done!

2024-10-09 20:05:24 +0000 UTCOh! Another thing: Bill Skarsgard studied and practiced contortion for this role. Pennywise emerging from the fridge was 100% practical, with slight exaggeration achieved through the lines of the clown's outfit, and through sound design.

2024-10-09 20:01:28 +0000 UTCFun fact: Pennywise cycling through expressions so rapidly when backed up against the well is based on an animal behavior called 'mirroring,' where when a predator is endangered by animals (such as a wolf being cornered by a herd of moose), when it has nowhere left to flee, it will often mimic postures and cries of the very animals cornering it, in a desperate attempt to get away. I also like the general theme of the limits of fear in this movie - humans in particular can only be pushed so far by fear, before confronting the fear becomes less scary than living with it. It's an exhausting, cathartic thing that has saved peoples' lives in dangerous situations.

2024-10-09 19:57:26 +0000 UTC59:36 Time for a rousing game of "spot the Wahlberg"! Which brother is on the poster? Is it Donnie (Saw 2) or his brother Mark (Ted franchise)

2024-10-09 18:34:03 +0000 UTCWhy did everyone want to pick on Alicia? What kind of place did you study at?? In my case, I only had a bully and after I told him to fight all ended

2024-10-09 18:07:03 +0000 UTCAs someone from a very small town it, sadly, captures a lot of scary truths about small towns - namely that many will ignore absolute atrocities in order to maintain the idea that the town is 'normal'.
Bologna Amputation
2024-10-09 17:00:05 +0000 UTCThe sequel doesn’t work as well for me, but it’s very much about how adults face their trauma.
nervouspirate
2024-10-09 14:25:59 +0000 UTCPennywise takes the form of your greatest fears, and in Alicia’s case, that’s endangered and/or dead babies.
Sam Marsh
2024-10-09 14:25:28 +0000 UTCThe metaphor in this movie that really works for me is how Derry is such a dangerous place for kids: all the adults are r*pists and abusers, they look the other way when bullies straight up try to murder you, they push you to grow up quickly and neglect your needs - all those rightful fears manifest as Pennywise. It’s a lot like how abused kids manifest their fears into something imaginary.

2024-10-09 14:25:19 +0000 UTCThe Adults aren't stupid. They know about IT and refuse to talk about it.

2024-10-09 12:16:13 +0000 UTCAll the turtle references are a reference to the book. Georgie's Lego, the lake turtle, etc. The kids are actually being protected by a giant Space Turtle. I love these movies cuz they have so many small details that you only see after a re watch. I would say they are more faithful to the book, but the movie still cut the child orgy, for good reason. Fun fact: Stephen King did a lot of Cocaine while writing this thing.

2024-10-09 10:58:18 +0000 UTCThe first part of the library scene is one of my favorites; I love how the old lady in the background changes to be more and more eerie and intimidating, and no attention is drawn to it.

2024-10-09 09:48:57 +0000 UTCyep. the scariest and best horror film you've done so far. but i still kinda like Willy's more just cause it's less scary, and also Cage.
