The coins conducted electricity and the black dragon could explode the stones around the party by simply yelling. It’s not something they ever say specifically but it’s great detail and ANOTHER REASON why nobody would think Thordak would just leave and ambush the army. Why the hell would he leave where he’s strongest? Because he doesn’t care and can kill the army alone anyway… yikes
