Not to mention, Garp's "Fist of Love", which was used to hurt Luffy, was first seen in Water 7, so I'm not sure where you're coming from, or what your source is.

I've seen theories about Haki being from when ever, but not once have I seen proof against it. I would love to have actual proof of one or the other, but as of right now, I can't find it any proof of your claim.

If he's going to dedicate a good portion of a large and complicated arc to a group of side characters, then that means that he's doing something with them, even if you find them boring. This is why no canon arc, not Skypeia, not Foxy, not Fishman Island, nothing, is skippable. He sets things up years in advance; keep in mind that Doffy and Kuma were first introduced around _Jaya_, and it took this long - over ten years of real time - for Doffy to become significant to the story, beyond the odd appearance. The first use of Haki was in Luffy's initial flashback, within the first few episodes, Rayleigh's first appearance was in Buggy's story, in episode 4, and Jinbe was first mentioned right after the Baratie arc. Oda wrote the end of the story first, then the beginning, and then set up the roads needed to connect the two. There's a lot that you'll miss if you get distracted by boredom and jeering. Just let Oda cook and have faith that he'll provide.

2024-10-21 13:26:56 +0000 UTCThey did it in the Summit War Saga once before with secluding Luffy from his crew, but in post timeskip the strawhats get written out of the arcs in parts more often, just to compensate for the arcs getting bigger with more characters to follow. Thats why the part of the crew on the Sunny isnt relevant for now, it would be one more thing to follow that doesnt drive the current plot forward. They will be more relevant in the future again
