My favourite is Thor, mainly due to my love of ancient mythology, but, I mean, who doesn't love Tony.

2025-06-22 18:52:02 +0000 UTCStan Lee on why he created Iron Man: "I gave myself a dare. It was the height of the Cold War. The readers, the young readers, if there was one thing they hated, it was war, it was the military. So I got a hero who represented that to the hundredth degree. He was a weapons manufacturer, he was providing weapons for the Army, he was rich, he was an industrialist. I thought it would be fun to take the kind of character that nobody would like, none of our readers would like, and shove him down their throats and make them like him...And he became very popular." I honestly love this quote, so I thought I'd share it here for those who haven't come across it yet.

2025-04-08 03:34:49 +0000 UTCIron Man 1 was probably the best movie in the whole MCU. Others have good moments here and there, but none are as overall consistent as IM1. The only flaw with IMO was using Stane as the villain too early (saving him for IM2 would've been much better, and would also be closer to the OG Devil in the Bottle storyline, they could still include Whiplash as a hired assassin, but wouldn't have to composite him with Crimson Dynamo to make him work with the story) and removing the references/reveal of the Mandarin (the OG one, not....whatever THAT was) which were there in the original script (and were used in the novelization).

2024-11-22 09:05:05 +0000 UTCLike a decade ago BK got bought out by an investment group that nerf a lot of their recipes, before that their stuff was even better, so I could see why people used to the previous level of quality would say it's bad. Personally I've always been too picky of an eater to try most of the menu, so I don't really have a comparison point for before and after.

Some things are hit or miss like any fast food, but I prefer it to McDonald's now, the patties feel more real for some reason.

2024-11-14 07:11:58 +0000 UTCThe issue isn’t just that they wrote a bunch of two-dimensional bad guy terrorists to dunk on; the issue is that they did that specifically to present the US military as the good guys trying to fight terrorists instead of the violent occupational force that they really were. They also kinda infantilize the victims by making it so that they need Americans to come in and protect them instead of just giving them the means to protect themselves.

Also to comment on film school attitudes to Marvel, I also took many film classes (theater major, here) and the energy was very anti-marvel to the point I was like “yall are thinking about marvel more than I am, damn.” like I’m average about Marvel, I like a good Marvel which is most of them but I don’t go out to see every movie or show. 2024-11-04 05:17:45 +0000 UTCI still like it as a superhero movie but the way they presented the occupying US military as the good guys with and the native middle-eastern “terrorists” as an inherently evil force they’re fighting doesn’t really sit well with me. Especially when they made the only guy there who could translate or perform surgery a captive with considerably lighter skin than them. Until they made their leader show up talking about how evil and imperialist he is. You can really feel the US military talking points through the screen.

2024-11-03 06:24:19 +0000 UTCI'll previce this by staring: I am not a film buff nor a particularly big marvel fan, however I have seen several mcu films and learned many details from ones I haven't seen. Yes most early marvel films were outstanding however later ones ARE objectively worst by standards of the writing. Endgame in particular had so much character story and writing set up from what came before; none more so than Civil and Infinity War yet it fumbled big time. It could and should have been an incredible send off to the marvel universe and the original 6 avengers in particular but none of their story arcs were ended with grace. This is not to say you and anyone else cannot enjoy it, after all, endgame is quite the spectical for the eyes and most people did leave the cinema with a fun time, however the problems arise once you delve into the details and writing deeper than surface. There will always be those that defame something for benign reasons so no sense in trying to defend the mcu against such cases. Instead, these movies should be viewed as an artistic and storytelling medium when reviewing for quality, and if it does not hold up, the fans and anyone that even remotely enjoyed them should voice their criticism for any chance it may improve. Unfortunately, box office success is a double-edged sword that can also hurt an ip if badly written movies set a precedence. They ones to blame are often the big boys like directors and company executives since they usually have the final say. I'm sure its also disappointing for the employees to script, build sets, etc put so much effort in a movie that doesn't live up and worse case, ruins what came before. That said, I do agree that Alicia can and should come to her own conclusions regarding the mcu. That includes being swayed to disliking AND liking any particular film.

2024-11-03 04:02:04 +0000 UTCLate response, but you're taking that comment way too personally. I don't think she intended to dismiss criticism of bad Marvel movies entirely, and I don't think she was "talking down" to anyone either. I think she was referring to the fact that Marvel fans (and to a lesser-extent, movie-watchers as a whole) tend to be especially judgmental and nitpicky regarding these movies, and that while she may have considered those things when she was younger, these days she just wants to watch the movie without all of the added context surrounding it. I don't think that's unreasonable, and I'm really struggling to find the part where she's dismissing criticism. Her desire to just watch a movie and your ability to think it's bad are two entirely separate things.

You'd be in the same boat as most Marvel fans. The only movies I'd probably side-eye you for not liking are the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, and I wouldn't really be angry, I'd just stew for a couple of minutes like a damn nerd.

2024-10-24 15:08:02 +0000 UTCOh no, "bomb" is an apt term to describe the box office performance of The Marvels. Its estimated loss is one of the worst in Hollywood history. The P&L that shows the loss amount: https://deadline.com/2024/05/biggest-box-office-bombs-2023-lowest-grossing-movies-1235902825/ The ranking of worst losses in cinema history - if you rank by nominal value, it is #1, if you rank by inflation adjusted value, it is #3: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_biggest_box-office_bombs As much as it pains me to say it, as I love Iman Vellani's performance as Kamala Khan, "bomb" is absolutely the right term to use to describe the financial returns on The Marvels. Not just a bomb, but arguably the worst one ever.
hemahemahema
2024-10-24 14:52:02 +0000 UTCI am not going to say the MCU is perfect because no franchise but there are some things to remember. When people use the term Bomb for any marvel film they are always wrong because even the worst marvel film usually makes more money at the box than any of non-marvel film released around the same time in most cases. Bomb is just a relative term in this case used to compare one MCU film to another MCU film and remember almost every MCU film has its haters so it is best to watch them all and just make up your own damn mind. Also, there will be a lot of people saying everything after End Game sucks but again this is relative and is not really measurable objectively to any certainty so again just watch them and make up your own damn mind and not let yourself be swayed by the opinions of others. also remember to watch the MCU-connected series as they can help a lot. Most of them are on disney plus. However the first 3 seasons of Daredevil are Netflix as is the rest of the defenders saga which yes you should watch all the of the defenders saga as it is really good in its own way and Marvel has already stated most of that will be Intergrated into the MCU going forward. I also recommend watching Marvel's Runaways on HULU, it is only like 2 seasons and is really good, especially if you like a well down story with actually good and well down lgbt representation [the only marvel show to really do it right and without fear]. Also Yes you should watch X-Men 97 as that is likely to play into the MCU in some way down the line closer to Secret Wars.

2024-10-23 14:15:34 +0000 UTCI'll be honest, the next 4 movies aren't going to be at the same level as Iron Man. They have their charms but they don't really measure up to the same level of quality. BUT, please please trust that it will all be worth it, because after them, comes the Avengers. And like Iron Man, the movie just works. Iron Man might have been the movie that kick-started the franchise, but Avengers was when Marvel knew they had made it, it was the proof that the model works, that you can expand the roster and the universe and the movies can enhance each other. Avengers was the movie that made "cinematic universe" Hollywood's Holy Grail for a while and lots of major studios launched failed franchises trying to capture that magic.

hemahemahema
2024-10-23 11:30:25 +0000 UTCExcept for Thor, where the directive from on top was "get the villain right". They had their priority straight, they knew heroes were what brought in viewers, so they often chose to develop their heroes instead of their villains, which led to a string of lackluster Marvel villains. But when they get a villain that they knew was going to justify an Avengers movie, they made sure to develop them. They poured their hearts into Loki and Thanos.
hemahemahema
2024-10-23 11:27:32 +0000 UTCYeah, 2021 was a turning point, because COVID delayed some projects so they put them all out in one go. In that year they released 4 movies and 4 live action shows, plus What If...? Thankfully they never did that again, but the damage was kinda done.
hemahemahema
2024-10-23 11:23:38 +0000 UTCPost Endgame a lot of it is very deserved. Before, people complaining and people watching - the overlap was very small, if you watched it, you'd know it's mostly very enjoyable with missteps now and then. Now, there's big overlap between people complaining and watching, because the missteps are becoming more frequent. The time investment, too, became a lot larger. During the Infinity Saga, even at the height it was just 3 movies per year, that's 7-8 hours per year and you are all caught up. It became a lot harder to keep up, especially 2021 had COVID delaying some projects so they ended up putting out 4 movies and 4 live-action shows all in 1 year. I think a lot of people hit burnout around that time. They are gambling it all now with the Dr Doom casting, I don't like the desperation but I really hope it works out and they win big.
hemahemahema

hemahemahema
2024-10-23 11:07:47 +0000 UTCDaredevil definitely, you can jump in any time, the references are minimal, and the quality is just on another level. AoS wouldn't make any sense before she's seen the Avengers...and the kicker is, you have to watch TWS at the exact right point in season 1 lol.
hemahemahema
2024-10-23 11:05:45 +0000 UTCYou really have to qualify the "first few", because the run of the first 22 movies to Endgame was amazing, and even after there were some greats like the last 2 Spider-Man movies and the 3rd GotG movie. But just focusing on the first 22 movies, it's widely agreed that the average quality in Phase 3 really leveled up compared to phases 1 and 2. That's on average, mind you, Iron Man is still one of the top ones.
hemahemahema
2024-10-23 11:02:36 +0000 UTCIt's the later and more recent films that start to decline with quality after Endgame.

2024-10-23 02:41:51 +0000 UTCIt's incredible to see the haters crawl out of the woodwork. It's like when you start a new anime series - one of the Big 3 or modern equivalent. First, you get the super excited crowd, and then a bunch more descend wanting to make sure that you know it's not very good. And people don't just not like the main protagonist - they HATE them, and want to make sure you do too. The Marvel films were a spectacular success for over a decade, despite some being better than others. Do people seriously think that that kind of success would come off the back of ONE movie? Ridiculous. There were a LOT of good ones.

2024-10-23 01:56:35 +0000 UTCAwwwww man. Awwwww man Iron Man 1. Hell, the first phase Marvel films were just. Special. I don't have a lot of fond memories of my old man but I specifically remember him going to see it on his own, coming home to little kid me, and absolutely geeking the fuck out of his mind and being like "You have to see this, you *have* to see this You won't even appreciate it the way I will but you *have* to see it." I was a child LMAO. It still holds up so well and it really was like, so groundbreaking. I actually don't think a lot of films had extra after credit scenes like that before this, correct me if Im wrong. Man. What an era. I'm so excited to continue this journey with you and the Rat Queendom 💖

2024-10-22 15:10:06 +0000 UTCLittle fun fact for you Alicia : the whole cheeseburger thing is a big nod to the turn around of Robert Downey Jr. Basically, there is a story about how he realized his life was going to shreds because of drug and alcohol back in July 2003. One day he decided to go at a beach with all kinds of drugs, but craved for a burger at BK. After eating it with disgust, he realized how wrong all this was and that drugs were probably gonna kill him. He then threw the drugs in the sea as a symbolic gesture and promised himself to stop them for good. That's why there is the burger from BK in Iron Man : as a symbol of his renaissance, and return to the spotlight ;)

2024-10-22 14:15:10 +0000 UTCNot quite, @NoviTall. The Pentagon has to sign off on a script before they provide support, but whether or not they sign off isn't just as simple as "can't show anything negative about the military at all". If that was the case, Black Hawk Down wouldn't have gotten Entertainment Media Unit support, nor Windtalkers. Both those movies definitely show military mistakes (both movies), soldiers being racist or cruel (windtalkers), etc. I think it's definitely the case that the Pentagon will refuse to support a movie that shows the US military as villains, or as OVERALL net negative (e.g. almost all dumb/bad but with one positive maverick military dude doing the right thing, to use a classic trope), but I don't see that as particularly surprising or odd, and I can't think of any other institution or organization that would provide financial assistance or cooperation to media projects that DID depict them in an overall negative way.

2024-10-22 14:10:28 +0000 UTCRe: Marvel Hate, there are a few things going on, IMO... 1) The MCU has averaged 2-3 movies a year for the better part of FIFTEEN YEARS at this point, and in the last 5 years you can add a lot of streaming series to that. There is absolutely a degree of oversaturation and audience fatigue that set in for a lot of people. 2) It's REALLY hard to maintain a consistently high degree of creative quality across that many projects, and while people will disagree about the specifics, a lot of folks will say something like "Oh, after [Insert Film X] The MCU really fell off." Whether that's just because of Reason 1 above, because the people in charge of the MCU got afraid of killing their streak and got overly formulaic and controlling in how they managed directors and writers, or a bit of both, I leave you to decide for yourself as you watch. 3) As you noted, there's definitely a tendency to hate on that which is super-popular and trendy with the mainstream, to decry it as low-brow. The more popular something gets, the more annoying it becomes to some people. And DEAR GOD did the MCU blow up and become super popular... I don't want to prejudice you towards the movies, but I'll say that I love a LOT of MCU "Phase 1" because they show just what potential there is in superheroes when the creative team understands why they're popular and why they've become cultural touchstones.

2024-10-22 12:47:45 +0000 UTCI did not know about Terrence Howard's claims towards maths and it led me down a rabbit hole of insane claims. Aside from stating that "1 times 1 should equal 2 because the square root of 4 is 2 so the square root of 2 should be 1", which is insane in itself, he has also claimed that he could debunk the Pythagorean theorem, that he can kill gravity, that he does not believe in the number 0 and that he remembers the day of his birth. Dude went off the deep-end. He's also a wife-beater (2 out of 4 of his ex-wives have restraining orders against him).

2024-10-22 04:02:50 +0000 UTCSo cool to see you start the Marvel journey! The fun part of Iron Man is that, you're right, it's an 8/10 B+ movie that gets characters right, the Superhero correct and if it JUST LEFT IT at the credits, we'd have been ready for another self contained series of hero flicks. It's Nick Fury pulling up in the shadows, teasing that there's more heroes to come. "The Avenger Initiative" line was the build-up to the cinematic world exploding like no one had ever seen before. And keep in mind: these first few films were made without The Mouse being involved. This was a cross-studio plan. Disney wouldn't get involved UNTIL The Avengers.

2024-10-22 03:52:20 +0000 UTCI don't remember all the specifics but it's pretty easy to find online, RDJ was pretty well known for being the rich boy problem child scandal back in the 90's with his addictions and such. The trails were a big deal at the time similar to the Johnny Depp court drama. Which is poetic given that at the time Johnny Depp was 100% there for RDJ and RDJ was able to return the favor while Depp was going through his stuff with Heard. Honestly I had forgotten how damn good these early movies were as the franchise does fall off around Infinity War and Endgame. It is really easy to see why this movie kicked off a franchise even as a fan of Blade which was technically the first "Marvel" movie.

The best and really only advice I can give you (aside from wait through the credits for basically every single one of these movies) is don't let anybody tell you that one movie is trash or bs like that, don't let anybody try and ruin your enjoyment of these movies before you even see them. I know you're very good about forming your own opinion about stuff like that, and I love that about you, but you are opening a can of worms with this fandom and certain films that are actually very good and fun will bring the incel rage from some members of your audience and I just want you to be ready for that lol

2024-10-22 03:04:39 +0000 UTCRobert Downey Jr./Tony Stark hands down my favorite all the way. I grew up with him and Iron Man being my fave superhero in the MCU
Kayden
2024-10-22 02:48:54 +0000 UTCI'm sure other people will mention it but your sister was correct, at the time of this movie, Robert Downey Jr had reached a low in his career due to past drug abuse problems and this role ended up turning his life around and reigniting his career, he's been on record saying it was like a second chance. Easy 9-10 out of 10, this one. Should be known that Rhodey is played by Don Cheadle from this point on, Terrence Howard only plays Rhodey in this movie. A Similar thing will happen with Hulk, who will be played by Edward Norton in The Incredible Hulk but then Mark Ruffalo in every following appearance (just one of those hiccups that happened while Marvel Studios were still finding their footing). Also notable, since you mentioned the soundtrack quite a few times, unfortunately a lot of early Marvel movies didn't keep character themes musically consistent across them, they got way better about it later on but this does mean that the Iron Man music we got for this movie is the last we're going to hear of it, it's a shame because I gotta agree the soundtrack slaps. It's yet another unfortunate side effect of Marvel not fully knowing what they were doing yet, but it's to be expected when doing something this ambitious. Fun fact: The "I am Iron Man" line was completely improvised, the cards were supposed to be followed. But instead, in a very Indiana Jones move, RDJ went off-script and unintentionally jumpstarted a multi-decade cinematic universe with a line so iconic it rivals "With great power comes great responsibility." As for favorite characters, Tony is number 1. He is peak. Tony is literally him. Then after that I'd probably have like phase 3 Thor, and then like at least 7 or 8 characters tied for third after that. This series does a great job in getting you invested in everyone. Do note, regardless of quality (which I think is pretty consistently great through phases 1-3), the energy of each movie will not be the same. You will learn quickly that "superhero movie" is not a genre, it's a setting. In this series we got action, romance, adventures, spy thrillers, borderline horror, buddy cop, dramas, and heist movies. And that's just Marvel. Especially in early phases, each Marvel movie was like a completely different vibe all-together.

2024-10-22 00:57:38 +0000 UTCAt least for me, a LOT of it comes down to just market saturation. That doesn't even bring the shows into the mix, let alone the ones with iffy canon status

2024-10-22 00:15:59 +0000 UTCYou can say that, but Joss was responsible for one of the series biggest hits and gave confidence for the studios to continue with phases 2 and 3. If Avengers had failed, the whole thing might (and probably would) have collapsed.

2024-10-22 00:04:39 +0000 UTCIn fairness this movie was made by Universal before Disney bought Marvel and decided to make the MCU. So they hadn't started Disneying the franchise yet. Not saying there aren't good Disney MCU movies, I just feel this one was so good because it wasn't a Disney movie and wasn't intended as a start of a giant franchise.

2024-10-22 00:00:01 +0000 UTCI would also give this one a 9, but I think it’s the best of the early movies. But later, I would say that there are definitely some I would give a 10. The good thing about watching every film, though, is that when you get to later movies which have loads of characters in them, you already know the main characters and their backstories so have no problem identifying everybody and being invested in them. Because I think character is what is done well even in the weakest films. The cast is strong and charismatic.

2024-10-21 23:17:15 +0000 UTCI am actually old enough to remember how RDJs image used to be before this movie, back in the 90s. He was a wreck, all kinds of drugs, violence in and out of rehab, jail, and mental institutions for suicide. Iron-man was his first big role since his last trip to rehab and therapy. Personally, my image of RDJ, when this was announced, was still the self-destructive druggie, who coasted on former achievements, and I seriously though the movie would flop.

2024-10-21 22:24:18 +0000 UTCfun fact, the “i’m iron man” line at the end of the movie was not in the script and was improvised by robert downey jr but the director liked it so much that he kept it in it’s just amazing how an improvised line became such an iconic mcu moment and was such a great way to end the first movie

2024-10-21 21:49:27 +0000 UTCFun fact: Iron Man being Tony Stark's bodyguard was actually the genuine cover story in the comics in the beginning. Sometime several decades into Marvel's Iron Man runs though, they decided to abandon that idea and get rid of Tony Stark's secret identity angle, so he just tells the world he *is* Iron Man. So bringing that cover story back in the movie as a red herring/what the government told him to do was really cute.

2024-10-21 21:32:33 +0000 UTCIt is very important to make a distinction between the movie version of Iron man and the comic. While depending a lot on the writer, the comic book iron man tends to be rather evil sometimes. Like torturing and kidnapping innocents, siding with the government, killing heroes that don't side with said government, and even cloning heroes to serve him. The movie version of iron man I can respect, not so much the comic book one.

2024-10-21 21:30:16 +0000 UTCAvenger's Earth's mightiest heroes came out in 2010, this movie is 2008 so it wasn't before. 2024-10-21 21:26:43 +0000 UTC1:25:00 Yinsen said he was from Gulmira, so that was probably an extra motivating factor for Tony to go there and destroy the weapons. FYI, JARVIS means "Just A Rather Very Intelligent System".
leviathan_13
2024-10-21 21:22:58 +0000 UTCWriting as I watch cause I get a chance to autistically Infodump. RDJ definitely was a pitch perfect casting choice. I'm not the biggest Iron Man guy but RDJ is pretty darn accurate to the character I know from the comics. And yeah, there is the addiction connection. One of the hardest comic covers is one where Tony is like slumped up against a wall in an alley and there's graffiti that reads "In the morning Tony Stark will be sober, or he will be dead". Oh yeah, I saw my fair share of decapitation videos. THey had some crazy production value too. I vividly remember one that was shot with a high speed camera in slow motion because they cut off the head with a sword and the guy was kneeling and the sword also lopped off the tip of his knee. Wild. Actually that brings up another point. One change they kinda had to make for the movie was that the original comic was written in the 60s so Tony was captured in a communist country in east Asia, cold war and all that. They updated this movie to reflect a more relevant conflict. In the Marvel comics there's an idea called the "sliding timescale" which basically means that all the things that have happened in the comics have only taken about 15 years so far and while nothing is usually overwritten entirely some details are changed to reflect the times. Yeye, that's him! That's the math denier! Uh, don't expect to see too much of him in later movies... Funny they mention Leonardo Da Vinci. In Marvel comics he was revealed to be kind of a proto Iron Man and a time traveler. In the comics, Jarvis is an actual dude, Tony's butler. "People are way too harsh on Marvel!" well... this is only the first MCU movie, might be prudent to reserve judgement. I think most people agree that Iron Man 1 slaps. Yinsen is such a great character, I really love him. They did him so good in the movie. On the topic of the unpainted armor, the original intention was for the suit to just be metal grey but that came out looking really bad from the printers so they had to choose a color scheme that agreed more with the printers. The destruction ofthe grand piano hurts my soul. You know what I just caught for the first time? The journalist lady shows fotographs and says the name of the village, that's the same name that Yinsen said he was from. I never caught that before. The Ten Rings is something to keep in mind for the future. Comic fans knew exactly what that was hinting at. That's 100% a magical girl transformation. Or like a power ranger henshin. The bodyguard cover story was totally legit in the comics. Tony's identity wasn't revealed to the public for like 40 years. Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury has a funny backstory. In the original comics, Nick Fury is a white guy and a WW2 vet. In the "Ultimate Marvel" comic line which was sort of a separate line that started from new beginnings and ran parallell to the mainline comics, in that version they wanted to do something different with Fury and asked Samuel L. Jackson if they could use his likeness for the character and part of the deal was that if they eventually put Fury in a movie they would go to him first for casting. I think this movie rocks. I think this is still one of the best Marvel movies. The only thing I'm a bit iffy on is the Iron Monger. I think he's great until he just goes psycho in the end, Jeff Bridges acts the hell out of the part but then he's just like "rah, I'm gonna kill you now" and I think his suit looks a bit messy but that's like the only issue for me. This movie rocks. Looking forward to The Incredible Hulk! You asked what our favourite Marvel characters are? The Hulk is my favourite character in all of fiction.
Bob
2024-10-21 21:17:59 +0000 UTCIt's easy to forget now that the casting of RDJ at the time was seen a bit risky or edgy, as his career had gone down the drain and he had drug problems and been in jail. Years later, his charisma is credited with kicking this thing off, or at least having a major part in it.

2024-10-21 20:28:34 +0000 UTCSo this movie pretty much nails Tony's origin story, most of the differences made were because Iron Man was made in the 1960's. He was a weapon manufacturer but instead of being captured in Afghanistan, it was Vietnam. But in the comics they give that a soft update every couple years so it was basically whatever the last conflict was. Which is kind of sad to think about XD. Another thing they change is that Tony actually did have a secret identity for a long time in the comics, and the whole 'Iron Man is my bodyguard' was the cover which actually worked pretty well and let Tony get away with some real bullshit later on. However he's had a public identity since the early 2000's, and they chose to adapt that instead while also bucking the whole trend of superheroes need a secret identity. Of course not every superhero has a private house in Miami that nobody really knows about so yeah. I hope this doesn't come across as 'well actually' in any sort of way, I just like to inform people about comics since a lot of MCU fans don't read them (which i hardly blame them it's a big thing to get into) but I like to explain the differences. Oh, little fun fact, Tony's driver in this is happy hogan, he's played by the director John Faverou!

2024-10-21 19:48:16 +0000 UTCFrom what I've read, around the time of Iron Man's release is when RDJ's professional life really turned around. He was known as a great actor that few wanted to work with. There were other actors in the running to play Iron Man, but Favreau ultimately chose RDJ when he realized Tony Stark and RDJ's personalities mirrored each other. Iron Man was a gamble, working on a poultry budget by today's standards, with the entire concept of the MCU banking on Iron Man's success at the box office. Edit: @1:49, the lead scientist is the kid from A Christmas Story. Edit 2: Many of the future movies start to get a little cringe. At the end of the day, it's a comic book adaptation, and the comics tend to be a little cringe. The Marvel movies were never made to be revolutionary, they were made to just be fun. If you had a good time, then the movie did it's job. Edit 3: I was about to drop my sub, but knowing that Alecia never watched the MCU gave me a new reason to continue my sub. Way to go on the excellent content.
