The Legend of Vox Machina 3x11

STRESSED

Comments

Personally that kinda turned me off from future Vox Machina altogether. To skip such a pivotal moment from the live streams. The worst part is they kinda already set it up. With most people ignoring Scanlan altogether and he went into a coma. The setup was right there. No idea why you would skip an easy Top 10 moment of Vox machina. Are they next going to cut off the Wish scene from the final fight? At this point, my enthusiasm for the next season is at an all time low

The Fonz

The only thing i have to say here is that it is Liches, not Litches. If i remember correctly it used to be either in the folklore it is based on, but in dnd it is liches.

A part of me is glad they skipped “The Bard’s Lament” because it was so raw and emotionally brutal, but it was a fantastic bit of acting that wrapped up Scanlan’s development. I do hope we at least get to see Taryon Darrington and Doty in Season 4.

That last sentence gives me a lot of hope, afaik they are now greenlit for another season (?), so hopefully they can adapt that moment in Scanlans story somewhere down the line, even if it doesn't include all the 'details' of the event in the campaign

this whole last 3 episodes was full of some weird decisions, this being one of them, probably the biggest Sam's said in an interview that it was done that way because amazon didn't want to greenlight them for season 4 until they saw the stats for the 3rd season were good, and instead of sticking to their guns and having faith in both their story and their fans (who made this show possible in the first place with that insane kickstarter), they omitted the moment that ends the Chroma Conclave story arc and is the culmination of Scanlan's entire character arc because it would be too much of a "downer ending" if 3 was the last season and i quote: “Making a TV show is tricky because you want to put it all in there, and definitely we wanted to honor that moment, but the season has to end,” Riegel explains. “We don’t know if we’re ever going to make another season of this show or another episode of this show, and the way that it worked out, the last scene of the The Legend of Vox Machina could’ve been Scanlan saying ‘Fuck you’ to everybody and leaving, which didn’t seem like a really great way to end the show. So we adapted it into something that I think is still bittersweet and holds the intention of that moment, but if we ever do get further, future seasons, we have plans to honor that moment in a different way.”

You know I think it's my bad on that one I was tired when I typed that lmao

Grumbledor .

Why is everyone spelling "Lich" so differently?

Shank Mugen

Yeah I believe they mentioned that in the campaign 1 roundup, it's so cool how they're adding in some of these small what if scenario's in the show

Grumbledor .

Gonna be real, in three seasons of absolute PEAK this one episode disappointed me the most, mostly because they cut out imho Scanlans best moment in the campaign. The Bards Lament should've absolutely been animated, if a bit altered to fit the flow of the shows narrative a bit better. I highly recommend watching a clip of that moment in their campaign sometime

Yeah, level 20 Moon Druids are absolutely broken. Infinite Subtle Spell and 100+ temp HP per round. Meanwhile, a level 20 Bard get...one use of Bardic Inspiration when they roll initiative. But only if they had none left.

What I've heard is this was Matt's plan for what would happen if the party hadn't stopped Raishan, with her coming back to be a major threat in the next campaign.

8:57 Ant is right. The base int. score is 10, Grog's is 6.

In D&D Lore: A Dracolitch is a dragon with considerable magical abilities that has given up their pride for their scales in search of eternal life, Often times because their pride is more encompassing than who they are, or even their afterlife. Red, black, and white dragons won’t often be found attempting this feat, as they are either too dumb, too prideful, or their evil goddess’ favorite color (red) to dare defy her. But green and blue dragons have a different pride. -Green dragons are ambitious to no end, seeking even to outgrow their own mother goddess. -Blue dragons hold pride for their accomplishments rather than their talents. They aren’t satisfied being second place. They’re mommas second born and won’t stand for the indignity of that title over what they know they can truly become. So mother can fall to the side for all they care. Dracolitches are, with all intent and purpose, litches. Undead masters with immortality. However, while litches need to sacrifice souls to a phylactery and rebuild their body of their original dies, dracolitches simply wait… until another dead dragon is close enough to their phylactery… and take its body instead. They are soul hopping parasites and are one of the most metal things you can throw at a party 🤘

Critical role would do these one shot battle royals, and Keyleth was proven truly the strongest when she beat everybody at level 20

Yeah I Guess

Oh my God she turned into a drago-lytch. THAT didn't happen in the tabletop version

Grumbledor .

The series diverged greatly with the campaign with how they handled Scanlan's resurrection and aftermath. If you're interested, you can watch a clip called "The Bard's Lament."

TurtleKungFu

It’s effectively the same, but Keylith’s story here animated definitely exudes a different feeling compared to what I remember in the livestreams.
