Iron Man 2

:D woohoo!!

Comments

I always forget that little kid is Spider-Man

Demon king meliodas

You wanna see some facial expression? Watch SG-1, Christopher Judge as Teal'c, says like 3 lines an episode but is by far my favorite actor. Even in backdrops his facial's are perfect

The Force

I know we have three Iron Man movies, but idk if he can surpass War Machine (Rhodes' suit), at least in design. He's like the Zoro of the Iron Man suits. Three aimable guns with one being a shoulder mounted minigun? That's just badass.

CeCactus13

2:13:00 editor can't save you on patreon hahaha. But for real, part of the fun of these reactions is that this is new to you. I'm reliving my 20's through this lol.

Fei Ashtear

I thought that was some kinda health-nut herb smoothie.

Gameboy 65051

I remember seeing this with my family while on vacation in California. My parents thought the tickets were expensive. And to be fair, they were not much cheaper there and then as they are now where I live. I walked out to use the restroom and got back in the middle of the scene creating an element. I was confused. And rewatching in full, I don’t think there was enough sci-fi babble to make me really buy how he made a new element. If the explanation was silly that’s fine, I just wanted AN explanation. I do like him using his dad’s city as the base though. Overall, I like this, though I think it’s the weakest in the trilogy.

Andrew birds

Using a Norse God specifically as a super hero makes sense because they’re mortal. Making one a Greek god or something like that would be too much cause they can’t die, but a Norse god makes a little more sense

Markus Bryant

Doesn't salute in Russian mean fireworks?

Maximor

1:19:55 feels like a Conan the barbarian reference with the heart riddle of iron man thing.

Valewall

1:58:00 she was trained at a very young age to be an assassin, yeah, she built different, no powers, no nothing

Ben Gross

1:55:00 she does have a movie, Black Widow

Ben Gross

When you asked if the Ant Man x Thano's ass thing was real you made me choke on a peanut.

DrCatspaw

Can't relate lol. In Texas, you don't even have to wait for someone to break in-- if they're outside your door trying to kick it in, you can shoot through the door.

I’ll argue with anyone about anything

I am just watching this now, so I don't know if someone already told you this already or not, but I just want to mention that the peace sign Tony always does, he adapted that into his public persona as an homage to the soldier that wanted to take a selfie with him in the first movie. I wanted to mention this even if you already knew because I think it's a really cool character development trait for Tony.

Miguel Soares

2:14:00 its a meme but have hints that he could do it i think

Cellectra

REDHEAD SCARLETT JOHANSSON GAWD ALL MIGHTY 💦💦💦💦

Noo you not knowing about marvel makes this watch through perfection!!! I love your insights!

The short answer: he's an idiot who pretends to be a genius, he's a corrupt billionaire who pretends to be a philanthropist, and his all of his goals involve screwing over literally everyone to enrich himself. The long answer? Buckle in because I'm about to be multi-paragraph guy. Now, most people hate him recently for political reasons, but personally I've hated him for over a decade now. In short, he's a billionaire nepo-baby who pretends to be an engineer, and all of his ideas are terrible. Ever heard of the hyper-loop? It's a tunnel through Las Vegas full of flashing lights that was pitched as the future of transport, and its original incarnation was even dumber: he wanted to have it be pneumatic tubes through San Francisco, which just... as an Engineer myself I cannot even begin to describe how monumentally stupid that is. He also tried to fix an underwater navigation problem by building a submarine that was about 10x bigger than the maximum size that it could be and actually solve the problem (then called a guy a pedophile out of nowhere when he correctly said that idea was stupid), he sold flamethrowers to make up for the fact that his Boring Company never succeeded at anything, and his latest fiasco is the Cybertruck, which just sucks in every conceivable way as a truck (there have already been electric trucks that are better in every single objective metric for years, and they still arrived late and way over-budget because Musk himself decided he himself knew better than the people he hired to know about car design). The only ideas of his that were actually successful were either bought with dad's money (which comes directly from Apartheid South Africa, no less), and the only exception to that is SpaceX, which was basically lobbied into success since conservatives in government were itching to sell contracts off to private buyers, and SpaceX had a decent marketing pitch. He bought PayPal, and he bought Tesla, and those are the only two successful companies he's ever run besides SpaceX. He's a reasonably competent businessman, he knows how to attract investor capital and put a slick marketing brand on a company that's already moving upwards, but he pretends to be an engineer and he's not. He's barely an entrepreneur, if it wasn't for him muscling his way into the space industry by leveraging his existing personal brand and private fortunes, he wouldn't have started a single successful company. Recently, people hate him because he bought out Twitter in the name of "free speech" and now unapologetically bans people who criticize him as if there's no irony, and the once-proclaimed "socialist" (yes, he called himself that when Bernie was popular because it was vogue) is openly cozying up to Trump and being put in charge of a government department that is literally just straight up corruption. Like, the "Department of Government Efficiency" is being headed by someone who's primary source of income is government contracts, obviously his recommendations will entail "give more contracts to SpaceX". He also sabotaged funding for California public rail to boost Tesla stock, he intentionally spreads conspiracy theories that he knows are bullshit for selfish and very convoluted reasons, and he's a colossal tax cheat. Honestly I could keep going for hours. Every billionaire is evil, Musk is only an exception because he has an inexplicably loyal fanbase of engineering school dropouts who praise the ground he walks on. Trump is evil, Bezos is evil, Zuckerberg is evil, they're all evil.

pizzamonkey

yes

Jaquan Ford

Politics, it's all Politics. That and what Elon did with Twitter.

Matt Clark

Why do ppl hate those guys or love those guys? What is going on with that?

Azi

I wonder why ppl are hating on Elon now. What loop am I out of?

Azi

Peter is 16 during civil war which is only a couple years after this, that kid was like 7, i know tom confirmed it but it still just doesnt make sense

Unstablebeast

i was gonna say the silver and red suit. from the suitcase didn't have the ability to fly since it had to be reduced so much to fit in a suit case. At least that's what i assume.

HappyMeal 4Fun

Fun fact: if you re-watch the first movie there's a scene where you see he's already started drinking the green chlorophyl drink for the Palladium sickness

Ryan Mills

Yeah, and both of them paid to be in the movies.

Adam

Whenever I think of Celebrity Cameos that have aged interestingly, I always think of Elon Musk in this film, and Donald Trump in Home Alone 2.

Matt Clark

Fun Fact, that last battle with Iron Man and War Machine gunning down the horde of drones was aided/storyboarded by Genndy Tartakovsky the creator of Dexter's Lab and more prominently Samurai Jack, which is Built on slicing, dicing, and mutilation of robots in the most TV-PG Goriest ways possible. Also, no, Ant-Man does NOT go up Thanos' ass that was just a meme.

G0R0_!ch!B@n25

This is a brice that has isolated himself and gone through specific training for years and is actively depressed, 0 emotion is the correct amount. This isn't normal bruce this is bruce at his lowest

Unstablebeast

The hulk is supposed to have nuance. Basically he is supposed to put on a shell of not having emotions but every little thing is affecting him and bringing him closer to blowing up. He shows 0 emotion 0 micro expressions 0 tone in voice. He is supposed to be having an inner turmoil that on the outside shows he is okay. The acting is very hard and demanding, and honestly I agree the actor did nothing in that role. He should be suppressing his emotion not have 0 that is the key difference. it would be a lot more interesting and realistic if you saw his emotion come out for split seconds then him fight to control it.

Alex Lofftus

52:20 The point in the incredible hulk was he is a depressed man actively trying to suppress all emotion, him having little to no facial expressions was the point, you dont look at arnold in terminator 2, playing an expressionless robot and say he did a bad job, because thats the goal

Unstablebeast

Another great way the Rule of Thirds gets used is in duels/face-off scenes. They'll use a wide shot that shows both fighters from the side, and each person is either entirely within the two outside thirds, or right on the dividing line. Explains why that type of shot is ALWAYS satisfying.

Anzac-A1

Happy is usually an ex-boxer, so the stuff you see him doing against the guard, especially biting the ear, makes total sense.

Anzac-A1

Scene where Hammer is talking with Ivan he responded to him in Russian saying ,,If I'm killed, don't wake me. It is better to die than to live in your world."

Noel

exactly, Whiplash clearly saw and heard Tony talking to Happy and Pepper, he knows they're friends so he'd know to go for them if Tony moved

Vegvisir92

For the people that I KNOW that are gonna get on my case about this comment, This is not spoilers, this is facts about the characters, more specifically, their names so they'll be easier to remember. Vanko's villain name is "Whip-lash" and Rhode's hero name is "War Machine". Oh, and Agent Natasha Romanoff's marvel name is "Black Widow".

Chris White

We could never be mad at you for not knowing, and you're at the starting line, so just enjoy the ride girl! :)

Frosty

Ah yes, Thanos the purple dinosaur.

Ninten2

You not knowing, like ANYTHING, about what's to come is extremely refreshing. The female character is Black Widow btw

EthanEverhart

49:40 the most adorable sneeze to have ever sneezed

Scarecrow443

YOU JUST BLEW MY MIND WITH THE RULE OF THIRDS OMG. analyzing this shot, it almost mirrors how your eyes work. you know how you close one eye and you see something but if you swap the closed eye the thing moves slightly. i think this rule appeals to that concept of our vision irl and how we perceive movement through time, and yeah this is beautiful, i love learning stuff during my reaction video time. <3 love it here

Gavin Thomas

2:00:00 the wayt hey set up the "kill box" line with " this is the worst place to be" cut off by all the droids surrounding them, then the music picks up, with no extra diolouge, no extra corny reaction like "oh they got more guns" just a wide shot into their face plates closing as soon as they got into focus, into straight action. first tqo iron man movies really had the super hero thing figured out well.

Gavin Thomas

Tony doesn't fly up because that would leave Pepper and Happy next to the guy. Better he takes the hits then them

John D

Don't be embarrassed about not already knowing Marvel better! It makes it super fun to watch you experience it for the first time. A lot of us never really got to experience it this way even when it was new, since we already had more familiarity with the overall characters/franchise, so its really fun to vicariously "relearn" it with you :)

Rainet

That's not true. It was just a fan head-canon that was asked at a convention and they just said "yeah why not?" But its not canon. The timeline doesn't even make sense.

DeVaunBeats

"Thanos and Antman" is a Meme

MoD+

I was looking to see if anyone actually answered, the word she was looking for is Delegate. You delegate responsibilities as a manager.

Aqua no Kiseki

17:00 Good gal. Protect your family AAAAND please go learn everything about gun safety and how to use a gun. Maybe also look up what might be the most comfortable and most effective gun for you to use. Also train using it on a range(first time shooting please only put one bullet into the gun. You have to see if you can even handle the punch). You should maybe also watch Brendan Herrera to see what you can do wrong and right with that. He also has a series showing you what stupid fucking shit people do wrong with guns called the Darwin Awards(don't worry. Even with such an kinda edgy name there is no gore and everything is up to youtube standards. Also he always announces what's going to be seen in the next clip. There are mostly people ALMOST removing them self's from life or well... There are actually people that willingly pointed their weapons at their own crotch and... Well.). And I know it might sound really crazy, but also teach your kids when they are old enough to understand all gun safety rules. You might never know if a friend of them has a family way too lax with guns. So at least they themselves will say... "Dafuq you doing, this is dangerous and imma not gonna do that shit with you. You idiot might kill yourself. I'm going home"

Blooocki :3

16:19 So if you're 5 foot and below woman you're basically fucked? What about the 80 year old goblin sized grandma? She supposed to go into mortal combat with 6 foot man or something?

Blooocki :3

@patrick Well, to be fair, she is not just a regular ass human, she has been trained to the top of humanity and has been trained/conditioned to the best of what the Soviet Union could do. So yeah, she is non-superpowered, but not really regular.

Miklar Sihn

13:30 the only opinion I have about this is... If you plan to have kids after your career... Please wear a mask while doing it and stay anonymous. We already have kids getting bullied with their parents onlyfans.

Blooocki :3

this is one of my favorite marvel movies of all time, objectivley it isn't as good as gog or infinity war but omg I love it

Gavin Thomas

Isn't "abortion" the exact opposite of what Alicia is going for?

N00B

I don't know why so many people hate on this movie, it's pretty good.

Gildarts1#fan

She got injected with a janky ass Soviet super soldier serum in the comics but I think she's just a totally regular ass human in the movies.

Patrick Waldeck

true enough, incredibly solid movie, but the villain does suffer from early MCU goofiness, as many of the villains do, but yeah the real conflict was man vs self, it was all about tony handling all that post-avengers baggage

Ellerian

Exactly! ^_^

Quinton Macejkovic

Black Widow doesn't really have powers. She's a little bit modified I believe, but it's basically just "peak physical condition", not "superhuman capabilities". So yea, she really IS "just that good".

Shatol Darmelo

that sneeze was adorable btw

Shatol Darmelo

everyone gotta start somewhere. Most dragonball fans I bet got first introduced to Dragon ball though Z and probably not even the first arc. Same for a lot of older anime, cartoons and games

Baron Banana Mustacio

Oh yeah I forgot about that one! I think them doing that is pretty clever instead of the person just announcing it.

YukoValis

For me personally, the only real gripe i had with Iron Man 3 is that the Villain's motivation for doing what he does is super lame. I did know about the Mandarin's character thanks to the 3D Iron Man show from 2008 (Armored Adventures) but honestly.... that was just a minor disappointment, i didn't think much of it.... maybe because i think that Tony's development as a character was the real focus of the movie and not the conflict with the villain.

Julio Castillo

Your editor is absolutely correct on what makes good clips

Roto

Ah that's boring. Thanks for the correction, as weird as it sounds. Better than believing moo poo.

Porpoise Power

I always heard complaints about how lame the villains and the cgi effects for them were. I heard complaints about MAndarin too, but not nearly as much as about the poorly handled villains and effects

MasamuneJM [Jonathan]

Or destroy a planet like the Hulk once did

Joseph Zen-aku Kaga

"Not knowing shit" is a valid thing! Not everyone has to already be a hardcore fan of art they're recently just getting into

Quinton Macejkovic

In the comics she has superpowers though. Super soldier type stuff, extra strong, extra fast, extra stamina but not Superman type strength. I think the official benchmark is that comic book widow can overhead press 500kg which is absolutely insane by human strength standards but she can't like throw a car or anything.

Bob

It was theorized and then canonized later that the kid in the Ironman mask towards the end was a young Peter Parker (spider-man).

Noahthehoneyboy

"Natasha Romanoff" has been renamed in the comics since someone presumably realized that it doesn't really sound like a Russian name. These days her civilian identity is Natalia Romanova. She was a villain originally in the comics, working for the Soviets which was a common thing for comic book villains to do in the 60s. She did get a solo movie eventually but it took a long ass time, from what I hear there was some genuinely sexist people at the top at Marvel who didn't think a woman led movie would make any money. Real shame. Oh, also if you ever decide to read comic books Black Widow vol. 7 is actually peak. Actually, another Soviet villain was one Anton Vanko which is the name they used in this movie for Ivan Vanko's father. Anton was the first Crimson Dynamo, an identity that would later be used by villains and heroes alike hailing from Soviet and later Russia. Anton Vanko defected and joined Iron Man after realizing the evils of communism (it was the 60s) and ultimately gave his life to save America. Ivan Vanko was created in the comics basically during the production of this movie. There was quite a few things happening in the comics as a result of the movies, all in the name of "brand synergy" for better and worse. As for Whiplash in this movie I'm not a super big fan. It's the third movie in and every final battle has been against a big grey CGI character which was getting a bit tiresome already. Vanko's suit could have been crimson, I think a little color could have gone a long way.

Bob

"We're iron mongers. We make weapons." - says Obadiah Stane aka Iron Monger.

hemahemahema

I do love how they name the side characters as an off comment. In the Hulk movie the monster at the end is named "Abomination" and the scientist trying to warn the guy said the serum might turn him into some abomination. In this movie during the party Iron man says to his friend "You want to be the war machine?" Which is what his name is in the suit.

YukoValis

Thank you

Aaro Tiljander

IIRC He asked for significantly more money than RDJ was going to be paid, got denied, and declined the role

Quinton Macejkovic

Nice overlord quote. (Probably from other things too but I know it from overlord. Lol)

Luxnoria Runelight

Antman could just climb down Thanos's arm into his gaunlet, and steel the glove super easy... and it'd be a lot less gross.

Porpoise Power

2 hours 5 mins 42s in: quote: "If you want to perform a sneak attack... then don't scream like a Banshee!"

Joseph Zen-aku Kaga

1 hour 56 mins 10s in: Blackwidow doesn't have a superpower it's all skill

33s later: it's a prototype for Captain America's shild

Joseph Zen-aku Kaga

1 hour 37 mins 8s in: to answer Alicia's question his character is call Nick Fury, the super spy 🕵️‍♂️

Joseph Zen-aku Kaga

I think those are classic F1 cars, or maybe some weird Eastern European Soviet era knock offs... although they name drop actual F1 drivers

Porpoise Power

to my knowledge, personal opinions aside, 3 has only ever been widely considered bad by people who knew about the Mandarin and didn't like the usage of the character, or lack thereof, in the movie, other than that I've only ever heard praise for the handling of it's topics (you know the ones, all the effects following The Avengers)

Ellerian

I suspect the other actor was too thick to fit in the War Machine costume.

Porpoise Power

1 hour 13 mins 24s in: Romanoff goes by the code name Blackwidow, a Russian Assassin turn SHILD agent.

Joseph Zen-aku Kaga

one thing we know about natasha is that she is fking incredible

Marco Cheng

THE FUCKING CHORTLE I LET OUT AT THE END WHEN YOU BROUGHT UP ANT-MAN. ALICIA I LOVE YOU PLEASE NEVER CHANGE AND DO NOT FEEL BAD ABOUT BEING NEW TO MARVEL IF AT ANYTHING IT MAKES COMMENTS LIKE THAT ALL THE MORE MAGICAL LMAOOOOOOOOOOO

Koirby

3 is by far the weakest iron man, to the point I skip it and give a summary when showing people the MCU

MasamuneJM [Jonathan]

I thought Iron Man 2 was generally seen as good, just not as good as 1, then and now, 3 has always been considered crap

MasamuneJM [Jonathan]

20mins 15s in: they don't tell you Ivan's villain name throughout the movie, he is call Whiplash.

Joseph Zen-aku Kaga

18 mins 17s in: Tary had personal family drama to take care of and thus didn't comeback to Ironman or the rest of the franchise.

I will say that, they changed Rhodey yes, however I like Don Cheddle over Terrence Howard just for the character of Rhodey.

TLKDesu

2:05:08 - hehehehehe.

Easy Mode - A.I

Yes It is cannon that ant man does indeed do that to thanos. Greatest scene in cinema history 🙏

Spicy Noodles

Natasha is just a skilled spy. She is a great example of you can be a badass hero without any powers.

Prince of the Saiyans

For the crocs side note they are very practical an easy to wear and if you don’t like the rubber feel they have fluffy ones too.

Prince of the Saiyans

yeah and instead she would have to live with the horror of trying for a kid in a state where multiple women have died due to laws criminalizing abortion preventing them from being saved from a miscarriage.

C-c-c-ComboBreaker

Fun Fact: The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, and Thor (and I think the rest of phase 1 but citation needed) take place in the same week. There was a tie-in comic release around the time that was called Nick Fury's Big Week, bouncing from location to location with SHIELD and recruiting each of the Avengers. Another Fun Fact: The kid at 1:52:50 that gets saved canonically grows up to be Peter Parker. This isn't really relevant at any point but it is cool. Fact That May Be Less Fun: This movie was and still is considered bad (with The Incredible Hulk) by most of the general public, and I just don't really see it. There's an argument to be made that it's the weakest of Iron Man's trilogy, but it's just so much fun. Fun Fact That Answers The Ant-Man Thanos Question: No. That was a meme. When Infinity War came out everyone started making memes about the alternate timelines of different ways they could've beat Thanos, that was one. And don't worry about not knowing anything, 'tis kind of the point of a blind reaction. Also, names. Sam Jackson is Nick Fury, director of SHIELD. "Natalie" is Natasha Romanoff, also known as the Black Widow (who does get a movie at the start of phase 4), she also doesn't technically have super powers, she's just built different.

Ellerian

Gotta love agent coulson and the tvseries of agents of shield

Faroth

If you have trouble remembering the name of Samuel L Jackson's character, just remember "great vengeance and NICK FURYous anger!"

Malkalypse

Romanov does have her own movie! Called Black Widow And there is an iron man 3

Emperor Moist

A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor's Hammer - how can we get Alicia to watch it? Maybe not react to it unless she wants to, but it's just fun entertainment that builds character for Coulson. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAE0gbp0c5E

hemahemahema

Alicia thinking Ant-Man going up Thano's ass might be canon actually got me doing a spit take.

hemahemahema

Alicia’s rant wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for Trudeau lol remember Alicia you want a gun make sure it’s a red state lol

Ryan Searle

Considering that it was a fan asking the directors at a convention, and the director basically saying "Huh, I like that idea, sure, lets make it official as of this moment" and not anywhere in any movie or attached media, I would NOT consider that a spoiler personally, but Alicia has said if you have to say that something isnt a spoiler, you shouldnt say it. Honestly, probably wouldve been safer to not saying that part at least.

MasamuneJM [Jonathan]

Re: Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow, she and Nick Fury are basically Super Spy types. Think James Bond Meets Batman or other "No Super Powers just really skilled martial artists + gadgets + spy tradecraft".

Linnaeus

I personally enjoy that you don't know anything about Marvel. It makes your theories so much more chaotic and unique.

Destroy4Fun

fun fact that weapon the ex wife has to reach a certain speed otherwise it wont explode hammer did say that in a techical sence

nick bunston

oh my god it's so good watching these movies shes been doing xD

marlanes

There is a trope within superhero content called, peak human. A person who has reached or is near the maximum possible ability for a regular person. In one or more ways they're just about as good as a person can be at certain things without having superpowers. "Natalie" is a good example of this.

Nikki

Never feel bad for not knowing anything about Marvel, just like Lord of the rings you have no idea how refreshing it is to see someone going into all of this blind, double the case for Marvel cuz its so insanely widespread, getting your raw thoughts is the absolute best part

Lewd Angel

Oh, remember the senator at the hearing trying to get Tony's suit for the US government. Just remember him. Senator Stern.

hemahemahema

Only Alicia would have flashback of the entirety of Iron Man 1 in 20 seconds searching for a scene where Tony got handed something.

hemahemahema

2nd movie now and Alicia is still forgetting Happy's name. Just remember he's played by the director Jon Favreau.

hemahemahema

honestly probably would have been better

WindWarriorPlays

in the Iron Man 1 patreon comments, i share a meme of mr. wolf drawn over a RDJ meme - and now here's Sam Rockwell, the voice of mr. wolf, in Iron Man 2...what are the odds (i actually haven't seen this film since it first came out lol)

Yagi di Hoshi

If you’re going to move to America I recommend Texas it has good food, beautiful scenery, rich history and no state income tax

James Fernandez

Remember that child in the Ironman mask that stood up to the drone. At this point it was just a cool moment retconned later. THE FOLLOWING ISNT REALLY A SPOILER THIS IS HERE JUST IN CASE YOU CONSIDER IT ONE. That kid was said to be a young Peter Parker and this moment inspired him a lot to be who he was

Prince of the Saiyans

Well. I WAS gonna be productive today, but a double marvel drop? Sounds like a smoke snd veg on the couch kinda day.

Rowdeemunkee

Fun fact Robert Downy Jr is a Wing Chug practitioner

Uncle Urdnot

Third comment sorry, but I just wanted to reiterate that your filmschool-perspective commentary on movies is sublime and brilliant.

Bologna Amputation

Wow alicia really had no reaction to ivan casually on the phone with his guards hung behind him. 1:57:33 Nevermind, she only noticed them now

Lightinger

Letting someone in waives the right to invoke the castle doctrine, since it explicitly applies to trespassers, and you still have to meet all the other criteria for self defense, the most common and general form being that a *reasonable person* would *have had cause to believe* that they were in *imminent threat* of suffering *serious injury or death*. In US law when using self-defense as an affirmative defense against criminal charges, those are the four prongs of the test. In some jurisdictions this may be invoked in defense of the fear of others suffering serious injury or death, but not all jurisdictions. fail any one of those criteria (the belief was unreasonable or baseless, the apparent threat was not imminent, or there was no plausible mechanism for serious injury or death) and the self defense claim fails.

Linnaeus

We can not fault you for lack of marvel knowledge if you weren't into it at the time. Be prepared for a journey of comic cinematic awesomeness as everything comes together.

Jaycee Cox

On the topic of crocs, since you asked, they're definitely worth it. They were, in fact, designed for people with plantar fasciitis and other foot and instep pain issues (but that's not particularly marketable, so they had to play them off as wacky white people shoes), and can be augmented with store-bought heel cups to improve support even further if you need them. Having crocs has saved me several times when foot injuries made it impossible to put my foot down on the bare floor without pain!

Bologna Amputation

Scarlett Johansson’s character is Natasha Romanov aka Black Widow and has no super powers. She’s just a top tier spy. In the comics she started off as a Russian Spy sent to steal from Stark Industries, but later defected and became a longtime member of the Avengers. Oh and a bit of villain trivia for you: Ivan Vanko is a bit of a combination of two Iron Man villains from the comics: Whiplash (a whip wielding costumed criminal supported by Justin Hammer) and the Crimson Dynamo (Russia’s version of Iron Man).

BakaSama

they should've given her a solo film in Phase 1 or 2

Kap

We have castle doctrine because it's insane to expect a homeowner to surrender their property or run away from their home because of an intruder. Imagine having to run from your home because some criminal decided to break in. As for the healthcare, assisted suicide is the fifth leading cause of death in Canada, which is run by the MAiD program and has nurses and doctors trying to convince people to be put to sleep in order to lower the cost of Canadian healthcare. While it was once for terminally ill persons, it now has been extended to people with mental illness, learning disabilities, the homeless, drug addicts, and veterans with PTSD. US healthcare isn't perfect, but my therapist isn't pushing me to agree to euthanasia because I have PTSD.

Kap

Btw the Guy that plays Happy (Jon Favreau) produced a lot of the avengers movies starting with this one and he has acted in a lot of great movies.

Donald Armstrong IV

45:20 - Tony knows that extended use of powering the suit excels the rate at which he is being poisoned. MAYBE he knows this and took it into account... but idk , you got a valid point

Silver Blade

So I’m not Canadian but the underlying purpose behind those kinds of castle laws is to prevent violent escalation and let insurance cover stolen items. Cause the issue we have here in the US is that since everyone can have guns to defend themselves, criminals tend to bring their own. So now we have a situation where, instead of maybe getting into a fistfight, you could easily get shot in a country with far worse insurance and healthcare than in Canada. Toronto is basically just America Lite but with way less guns.

unknown organism

The fakt that you don't know marvel is the best part about your reactions.

Cat on Crack

ya, the other guy thought he was higher up the totem pole then he was and was wanting more money if I'm not mistaken

jdogus

I’m crying at her description of what she knows about Thanos. I hope she never reads any comments and stays that ignorant

Ranginald Vagel

in the Iron Man universe War Machine is my favorite character

Ronix

I like the bit where Natasha mentions his suit has safeguards against unauthorized usage, cause it means Tony had authorized Rhodes to use the suit. It also implies shield has hacked his suit

Speed1247

Man, I am so glad you are enjoying these movies so far. I think it is good that you have no prior knowledge of Marvel stuff because that lets you enjoy the films as they are. Iron Man is my fave all the way woooo!

Kayden

the french talking in the movie is awful lol especially that one prison guard

Fenronin (Dorian Dubourg)

So, while Canada's home defense laws need some severe reality checks, I do understand why we do not have the equivalent of Castle Doctrine - it's to avoid the frequent situations in which intruders or trespassers are baited into escalation or trapped in places by someone wanting an excuse to kill. I went to school with a guy who killed an intruder with a sword and went to jail for it, and the crux of it came down to the fact that he let the guy in so that he could escalate the violence. Again, this isn't me saying Canada's home defense laws are good, nor that our law enforcements' slack-ass approach to home safety is in any way laudable, but Castle Doctrine is a wild west leftover that does far more harm than good in America.

Bologna Amputation

Castle Doctrine is the rule that says your home is your castle and you don't have to surrender it to an intruder.

Kap

You will get official names and hero names through out the MCU series. I would recommend taking notes knowing how hard it is keeping track of names for you is.

Crazyone

Love your reaction on this one. Also you do not have to apologize to not have knowledge about Marvel or anything Comics. People giving shit to people are just self pretentious pricks. We, this community, do not expect you to know all or anything. You are experiencing it in your own way and it's valid. Beside they are so much stuff, that even us fans can't know all of it. Especially when it's an evolving franchise in the comics too. So please Alicia, enjoy it as you see fit. All the love and affection to you and to all.

GT QcNumber1 Vézina

True statement there XD

GT QcNumber1 Vézina

Alicia, NOOO!!! Don't believe the Antman Up The Booty Meme! NOOO!!! ALICIA!!! XD

Shadowbane1992

Ant-Man going up of the ass of Thanos was one of the fan theories how to defeat Thanos in one of the movies.. pretty stupid one in my opinion tbh xD

DrakonFirestone

Fun detail, ever since the incident Tony holds up a peace sign for photos like the soldier that asked for a picture in the caravan in the first movie. also, some of the older Fox Marvel movies are a recommended watch especially with how the merger finally got results. (X-men movies at the very least)

Logan B.

i really like alicia fangirling about filming stuff :3

MyOnisan

Black widow does get her own movie......yoooour just gonna have to binge a bit first

WindWarriorPlays

1:10:40 you have to remember from the first movie. Rhody is a damn good pilot, he better know how to fly🤣😂 Coulson is one of the best shield agents ever. Don't fuck with him when he's got an attitude 😂🤣 His name is Nick fury, the director of shield. 1:52:49 there is a rumor going around that the kid is Tom Holland Spider-Man. Some say it's been confirmed some say it hasn't. I'm not sure myself honestly. "I was going to make you an omelette and tell you!!" one of my favorite lines 🤣😂 1:59:40 Tony does not care because Rhody is his best friend. That's why he allowed him to steal the suit. Rhody is his best friend and will always be his best friend and sidekick. 2:13:37 only in the comics not the movies. If you want to find out more of marvel you need to read the comics. Other then that you won't know anything else

UndeadNovaKing 0

The kid in the mask tony saved was confirmed to be a young spider man by the directors ya know before his plot

WindWarriorPlays

Alicia’s face after saying “he’s taking so many backshots” made me fall out of my bed laughing

18C

Amazing video as always alicia, now its time for me to drop a couple points as is now customary. - scarjo's character is named natasha romanof, codename: black widow. Yes she gets her own movie apparnetly its not one of the better ones but ive heard its still entertaining. She has no superpowers, her schtick is shes a superspy. -the whole antman in thanos' ass thing was a meme. People were saying he should just shrink, climb up thanos ass and grow giant as an easy way to kill him.

Commisar_Pickle

I think you mean you like the actual villain, Ivan. And not the tool that is Hammer. 🤣

V_VMat

I cme to talk about the Ant man crawling up the Thanos Ass...

Fobbles

49:48 that sneeze was cute, the blowing of the nose was not 😅

V_VMat

As a mother of two and an American... Mama Bear mode is gonna activate and there's no telling what I'd do if someone broke into my house. xD

SNESgirl

Me: I'll check if Alicia has any uploads, I shouldn't expect any cause she wasn't feeling wel-*sees 2 movies" well shit. Let's gooooo

Jorden Powell

My take on why he didn't take off when fighting Ivan during the race was that he clearly wanted to Protect Happy and Pepper who had nowhere to go so he had to stay between the car and Ivan

Karatsuki

The young boy wearing the Iron man mask during the Hammer-roid attack that Tony saved turns out to be a very young Peter Parker aka Spider man.

Matthew Williams

I actually think it’s better if you don’t know about Marvel going in. You go with the film perspective, I went in with the comic lover inner child perspective.

Kuroashi

Natasha Romanov aka Black Widow in the MCU movies is just a super trained bad ass, she doesn't have any super powers. The Black Widow character from the comic books did have a off shoot of the super serum that another MCU hero was given. She wasn't as powerful as said hero with that serum but what she lacked in power she made up in skill. It's unfortunate they went the plain human route in the MCU with her but it is understandable.

Matthew Williams

True, Gendy Tartovsky is a legend. Samurai Jack, Sym Bionic Titan, Primal, Clone Wars.

Brandon Dodge

Only noticed him recent when a family member watched Iron Man 2 and this is exactly my thought process.

ChaosSepher

What colors your falcon 9 rocket?

donald johnson

28:43 ..... Delegate?

WindWarriorPlays

Oh the ant man thing? No spoilers chat.

PrivateXimmy

The guy who did samurai jack actually helped with the composition of the final fight scene with the robots! He’s fantastic! If your Star Wars watch ends up covering clone wars 2003, you’ll see a lot more of his stuff. He’s incredible.

PrivateXimmy

you know what, this movie is actually better than i remember

Badgersan

What the actual fuck...? ... Yeah, it's not much better in the US when you get down to it, there's a case of a guy who got stuck in a chimney trying to rob a house... he sued the homeowners, and WON... but yeah, that's incredibly stupid that you're not allowed to defend your own house...

Chronos Hoffman

Dear Alicia X. Life, Good video. Thank you for your time and consideration. Warm regards, Me

Fox-Man the Wise

I agree this is criminally overhated not overrated

Fox-Man the Wise

I understand the self defense during robbery rant completely. It's INSANE that you can't defend YOUR OWN HOME with as much force as you please. If someone breaks into my home, endangering me, endangering my family, trying to steal my things... I'm doing everything I can to incapacitate them as fast as possible. *And I'm not a good enough fighter to be gentle and tactical about that*. Most people aren't. So weapons and killing/maiming blows it is. If you happen to have a gun that just becomes easier.

Shatol Darmelo

Bro just wanted way too much money, it's not that deep

Talon Karrde

The suit tony used in morocco doesnt have flight capability. Its just like in-case-of-emergency type thing thats why he didnt hover off the ground out of ivan's range of attack.

David Willard

3 is absolutely the weakest. Not a "bad" film (especially not by later Marvel movie standards) but by the time the movie actually feels like it's doing anything, it's already almost over. Also, as N00B pointed out, Iron Man 1 is *the blueprint* for a superhero movie and it casts long shadows over the other two movies.

Richard Sinclair

Damn it. I've been had. The correction has been made. Thank you.

N00B

I don't really understand the beef that some people have with Iron Man 2. As far as I'm concerned it's only sin is that it's not as good as the first one. That's a tall ask because Iron Man 1 became the blueprint for superhero films, as well as being (arguably) the best executed superhero film besides maybe The Dark Knight. Iron Man 3 is more fitting of your comment. I would argue it's still a good movie in the narrative sense, but the pacing is sluggish and by the time the movie has its feet under it, it's already 3/4 of the way over.

Richard Sinclair

I like to say elon musk tries to act like he's Tony stark but in reality he is Justin hammer

Artemis

The "Don't like being handed things" wasn't really a thing in the first movie. But the last thing that was ever handed to him were those pictures of his weapons in Gulmira by Christine. Ever since then he didn't like things being handed to him.

Sasha

It wasn't Tom Holland, it was Jon Favreau's son, Max

Life is a Mystery Machine and I’m a Small Child

🏳️‍🌈 Justin Hammer our beloved 🏳️‍🌈

PrivateXimmy

funny story they replaced my new math because he demanded to be payed as much as RDJ

Jacob

I remember hearing one of the old heads of marvel was like super racist and thought no one would notice the swap

RaineM27

*spoilers* it's not a meme, it's canon.

Azel !!

You forgot one: "Be humble"

N00B

Once you have broken them in, Crocks are super comfy

Lenny_has_arived

yeah they swapped out Rhodey's actor. i woooooonnnndddeerrr whyyyyyy? maybe somethings didn't add up as Terrence thought it did? (but for real, i think it had to do something with how much he was offered for the role or that he should be paid as much as Robert for his role or something like that)

nick

I think it's pretty great watching someone pretty clueless about MCU ;)

Erik Nilsson

"TONY BUILT THIS IN A CAVE! WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS!"

Sam Swift

A 7/8th pay cut is pretty bullshit

ryan anderson

As I recall, Terrence Howard wanted equal or greater billing than Robert Downey Jr in Iron Man 2, just like he had gotten for the first movie. With how good RDJ had been in his role though, that obviously wasn't going to happen.

Lonjil

1:34:00 Relatable Alicia moment. My family is both Türkish and Bulgarian, so we speak both of those languages interchangebly. In addition to that, my part of the Family has migrated to Germany and now in addition to English, I have to juggle 3 languages, with my family doing the same. Whenever we forget a word in one language, we swap to the other which from an outsiders perspective I can only image like Dante from DMC swapping weapons and styles constantly. Also: 1. The "suitcase" armor can't fly. The flight systems were among the features that had to be removed to make it compact. 2. Scar Jo plays "Natasha Romanov", who's "Black Widow". 3. Sam Jackson is "Nick Fury". 4. The child wearing the Iron Man mask was in fact little Jon Favreu's son, Max. Jpn Favreu being both the writer and director for Iron Man 1 & 2 and also being the actor for Happy. 5. There is a Black Widow movie, but sadly its not that good on account of challenges posed by Covid, the (well deserved and rightful) writer's and actors strike and the MCU's own dip in quality at the time. However, Natasha is a very prominent character in other movies as well.

N00B

I think it’s best to go in blind for marvel you get to experience all the goody they have to offer in there amazing movies. I’m more worried when we catch up to the more mordant movies

AyatoMisubi

I love that you are enjoying these movies. My favorite reactor watching my favorite movies, it’s like the best thing ever.

Gaurdian 5th

Here's a fun fact for you, in case you haven't been told yet - the actor for Happy is Jon Favreau, who is also the director of these first two Iron Man movies. He can write, direct, *and* act.

AbsurdToastling

Only acute?

Gearhead4805

I don't think either 2 or 3 are weak. 1 is just really good.

N00B

Well, knowing that Ironman 2 was next definitely helped.

Johnathon

Trust me, it’s so much better that you have no knowledge of marvel and what’s to come. Makes the reactions much more satisfying.

Kyron Leggett

Alicia, these reactions would be objectively worse if you knew more about Marvel. You're fine, you're doing great.

Wil DeYoung

At the race track you said Tony was being stupid by staying on the ground instead of flying and blasting from a distance. It's actually a terrible idea to fly up because, if he did that, the innocent people within the guy's range (including Tony's friends) become essentially hostages but if Tony stays on the ground he will be the target and everyone else will be safe

ShinyC4terpie

in Australia our rule is non lethal so you can defend yourself as long as you dont kill them, and no guns because guns are illegal in Australia unless its for hunting

Vincent

You have to meet them with equal force huh? So that means if someone breaks into your house, you have to break into theirs

Lenny_has_arived

Australia has the same equal force policy, atleast here in the NT and it even takes it a step further. We are actively told to not fight back and let them rob us bc we can be held liable if they injure themselves on our property. Yup, so if someone breaks through my window and cuts themselves on the glass i can be held liable.

Santi

Not the best MCU film but still has its moments for sure.

Jonathan Canfield

Elon musk thinks he’s Ironman but in reality he’s more like Justin Hammer.

Gilmez

18:14 you got tricked bc he indeed did his terrymathology

Jimmy Recinos

no, that's definitely 3. Still an enjoyable watch for all of them, though. War Machine just really steals the show in this one. That and Whiplash.

Adam

nah, 3 is the weakest iron man movie. i can barely remember anything that happens in that movie. Iron man 3 is Thor's Dark Fate

Gavin Bickel

I sometimes forget that Tony's dad is basically supposed to be the Walt Disney of the Marvel world. He even looks like him, and he even made a presentation of a futuristic city. I'm 100% certain that if Disney hadn't died, he would have probably tried to run for president ( he had a lot of ambitions ).

Alexander Saldivar

I like to make two requests. 1: Add the deadpool movies to your list. 2: Do not watch the end credits to captain America. It is only a reveal trailer for the next movie and has 100% spoilers that are in said movie. Skipping it will have you miss nothing.

YukoValis

I remember hearing about leaving your keys by the door. That's wild. 2A. You break into my house, you get acute lead poisoning.

Bliksem105

Fun Fact about Iron Man 2: Did you know it got storyboarding by fuckin Genndy Tarakovsky? Particularly the showdown between Iron Man and War Machine vs Hammer Drones in the garden. If even seen Samurai Jack very much fit his brand. Finding this out elevated this film for me a few points.

ChaosSepher

Yay thank goodness hulk didn’t kill her motivation to keep swinging marvel

Bigbleu

56:49 He said "If I'm killed, don't wake me. It is better to die than to live in your world." 1:42:31 He said "you talk too much"

Trevor Appel

I remember when this movie played on FX nonstop for what seemed like months. It's probably the MCU movie I've seen most because of that.

Johnathon

imho the weakest of the iron man movies, but still enjoyable if you dont think about it too hard
