Arcane 2x6

I WAS HAPPY THEN NOT

Comments

Its been what like 3 months and I'm still not okay

MenacingScone

I cried for 45 minutes straight after this episode man... Jinx was finally happy, she completely did a 180 because of the little baby Isha... I'm still crying man

Luka Aleksijevic

Also, the next animated show is already 1 year in development, but there is no release date yet. Considering that it took them 3 years to make season 2 of Arcane, the next animated show will be at least in 2 years from now.

Sancturillore -- Élie Simard-Wallot

Nah, the 2025 Noxus thing is for the seasons of the league of legends game, not for the animated shows.

Sancturillore -- Élie Simard-Wallot

Noxus, I believe, is releasing in 2025.

I really got sad once i saw the music video "isha song" and the translated meaning.. oh it cuts even deeper but it's just a really beautiful song. Also small details during the flash backs her eye's glow blue every now and then with jinx and isha showing powder flashing back. Also Jinx holding isha hand while jumping while powder with vi had to jump on her own. ... it was really beautiful.

Mmidnight Mistake

I really think the ancient Shurima storyline with Azir's broken promise to free Xerath and the other slaves.

Matthew

I dont believe this season will end with Vander intact. I think its to expect that by the end, Vi, Jinx and Warwick end up at least sort of adjacent to how they are in league. So prob not as a happy family if I had to guess

Lucas_Oreki

i am so stoked to see that, I want Ionia over everything else

Lucas_Oreki

Demacia has an interesting story in its own right, given the whole racism against mages thing, but that was already explored in Mageseeker, so I don’t know if they would make a show out of it. I would totally watch it though. I like the storyline concerning the war between Noxus and Ionia more than Noxus and Demacia tbh. Also, I’m pretty sure Ezreal is from Piltover, not Demacia.

Aseel Bukhari 🇸🇦🇵🇸

“Here comes the punchline” is a line that Vi says in the game, I think, not Jinx. I play some Jinx, but not much Vi at all, so I’m not sure about this.

Aseel Bukhari 🇸🇦🇵🇸

Such A beautiful episode, could fool me for a extremely expensive well made movie. I think that's my favorite animated anything ever. Writing good too

Nate D.

Love how I just had a feeling when you said well I won't be talking to the therapist. Just went well shit it's about to get dark

Greg Gombar

Similarly to like I mentioned a couple of episodes back, Jinx, Vi, and Cait working together (to an extent) for a cause was not something I had on my prediction sheet.

jdoggivjc

Yea, the first act of this season was very different, it was a pretty mild setup compared to the first season, so I think I get what you're saying.

AlmaWade 1979

Considering Noxus just recruited Singed this batch the next series is definitely going to be the noxian invasion of Ionia because Singed does a lot of warcrimes during that invasion.

Jacob

27:30 League lore v1 sounds a lot like MTG and how that's adapted over time (especially with Planeswalkers being a summonable card) original lore was that the player Was the Planeswalker, with 'tapping lands to draw mana' and 'summoning allies' being written into the old novels as a thing Planeswalkers did. Over time the story shifted to be about those allies and characters, fleshing them out, but I still have my paperback copy of MTG novel 1 "Arena" before Urza, before Yawgmoth, before Phyrexia... Sorry, just love to hear Alicia lore dump with her being a long time fan, and how it reminds me of my deep fan lore history of a different franchise :)

QuibblesAndGitz

God damnit Kayaba!!!

QuibblesAndGitz

As I said, both seasons are solid, and we do have to see how it ends.. I think a secondary part of that for me is that episode 3 felt underwhelming compared to how season 1 had a gut punch every third episode. Again, while good, watching S2 1-6 it almost felt like I was missing 3 episodes because of that.. I do agree with the jumping too much. It almost feels like they cared more about showing how the images reflected each other than they did about making solid portraits to be reflected... The fact it's been 3 years also probably adds to that, when many are used to a 1-2 year gap. So especially with how hard season 1 hit with episode 3, season 2 didn't get that til this episode.. Which was absolutely a dick punch and had me shed a few tears.. I had just been expecting the same at Ep 3 as well, so it felt underwhelming at the time

QuibblesAndGitz

It could be seen as the next step. First you do what you think is right and fuck everything up. Then when you get to have a do-over (as Jinx said), someone else fucks it up for you. I can see why it wouldn't hit as much for someone, but I'd still see it as a part of the good writing. The thing that bothers me about this season is that they jump around between scenes too much. It's a little less of a problem in act 2, but some scenes don't really get enough time to set in properly before they throw your attention elsewhere.

AlmaWade 1979

When Viktor droped "Glorious evolution" I was like OOOOH HE SAID THE THING ! HE SAID IT !!!!!

GreenRob

Controversial opinion: while I still love the show, to me this lacks some of the emotional weight. Season 1 felt more tragic because people brought their downfall upon themselves through backfires or through their choice in interactions, while Season 2 feels more like people doing well but getting screwed over by others.. Both are solid, I just personally feel that doing what you think is right and having it explode in your face is more engaging than where it almost doesn't matter what you do because someone else messes it up..

QuibblesAndGitz

boy this show loves punching my heart in the dick a lot

vincent shiflett

A few little blue marbles, twice

Afell Tale

Jinx : *being happy* Vi : *being happy* Arcane : "And I took that personally."

Christopher W Carlisle

Also Viktors whole current lore thing is about "glorious evolution"... Guess what the void is also about? (Apart from eating the world). Wouldn't be surprised if they connect Viktor with the void in his new Arcane lore

nick

And I believe they plan on making stuff for other areas and characters after arcane which will help expand the connections even more

Artemis

I do believe they plan on adapting the arcane lore into league itself. Especially since it seems they plan to make more arcane type league shows to expand on other areas . Also alicias poor therapist having too constantly hear about all these animated shows that make her cry 😂

Artemis

I feel like "saving" Vander but letting Isha die would be so disrespectful and unfair. so IF warwick survives, Vander better be gone.

Silver Blade

28:40 the League Talk, actually thanks to Arcane, Riot has now compiled all the lore into one canon universe centering around Arcane. Everything that's happening in the show is canon.

Jared Allen

"I was happy then not." Sums up my life pretty well... 😅

RedRam-Ipsen

"This episode is making me happy..." the way I started giggling when she said that.

ScarecrowGhost

The darkin are the corrupted ascended from the ancient past. I can see the void and them getting introduced or mentioned by the end of arcane and then used as a main plot point in their next show.

Lythr0_Nax

Yeah, I heard that and I'm like. 'Well at least she is going to be seeing a therapist, really need that after the end of this episode'.

Typhado

Indeed. I would say the thing Viktor did to them is now "killing" Warwick or something like that. If I am correct, that would mean Warwick's mental is worse than before.

Júlio So

Arcane needs to stop destroying our hearts like this!

Adrian_B

We even got chaos.

Nathan Mathews

For those that missed it, there are signs that Viktor and the people he influences are pretty much already dead. When he first woke up, he was not cold and found what he was feeling very weird. In the chamber with the Wild Rune, you can see the breath of everybody, since it's chilly. But you can't see the breath of "healed" Salo. They seem to only be husks, which is why they appear to die as soon as the one controlling them does. And looking at the frames Jayce sees during his breakdowns, at least one of them clearly looks like a Void creature with purple eyes, much like Kai'Sas skinsuit. So it seems like Jayce saw that this stuff with Hexcore and Viktor combining with it is somehow linked to the Void. Which is why he was so determined to end it ASAP, he must have seen what it leads to. There were already theories about Shimmer being some kind of a by-product of the Void last season. And Viktor took Shimmer that Singed gave him as part of trying to heal him, and it worked and allowed him to walk and run for the first time. So the possible Void substance in Viktor, with Hexcore in Viktor can lead to pretty big problems real quick.

Fae

Yeah so cute she put the arcane ball in her pocket 😭 I love and hate that Isha made the same choice Jinx did to save her family

DeAnthony Potts

Darkin? Also i meant i hope the void is explained more in the next batch

DarkTitan5010

He saw the Void, and was nearly broken by it. The only thing keeping him together was the resolve he had to destroy the core. To “prevent” the visions he was seeing. But the Void tricked him, and instead of preventing it… he caused it. And the place where Mel’s in is probably the seal that has The Darkin locked inside of.

Lythr0_Nax

*warwick starts ripping someone apart* Alicia: "OH THATS HIS ULT!!". .

chomps!!

19:00 HE SAID THE THING!! HE SAID THE THING!!!!!!!!!!!

Seth

Jinx is gonna blame herself for Isha. It's not rational, there's nothing she could have done, but as she said to Smeech "everyone that gets close to me dies". At least I hope that the explosion was enough to reset Warwick to a more neutral state. RIP Isha, you brave brave child.

Daimah

True, I hope the void come into play at some point. And I wonder if Jayce is gonna keep his hammer considering it’s corrupted now. Well, guess will just have to tune in next week to see how this all goes down

DarkTitan5010

Nah bro, Jinx was schizophrenia, Jayce was full ptsd. Jayce psique must be insane cause he probably was seing some void or dark magic bs. Due to the hive mind of Victor, the multiple eyes, the adaptative nature of it and a more purplish colour in the flashbacks I would say the Hextech may be conected to the void, wich may open the door for more series in the future.

Eric

I was actually talking about a sequel series idea with some buddies of mine. I said that given we have Ambessa and Noxus in Arcane, that is a good jumping off point to introduce those unfamiliar with LoL to the Noxian-Demacia war in a new series and start introducing the wider world of Runeterra.

Wil DeYoung

Wait till she sees Isha calling Jinx mama in ep4

Jaquan Ford

The more I see of this arcane, the more I am thinking this worlds magic runs on 40k rules. As in the voices guiding people are Lovecraftian beings trying to get people to pierce the veil and unleash them. And looking up lore I find the void, complete with demons and tyranids. Also ever since I saw Mels jewellery start glowing, I had a suspicion that it had some kind Solari origin. But now I think Mels father might be Solari and the reason she survived the explosion was her powers awakening.

Spacefrog

"See you, space cowgirl."

Liesmith

I know people are pissed at Jayce, but our boy was seeing LITERAL DEMONS and was on Jinx’s level of Schizophrenia the entire time he was on screen. So while things went downhill I’m waitin till Saturday to lay down the final judgement on our guy

DarkTitan5010

"i won't need to tell my therapist about what i just watched" well that didn't last long

mld-Drake

if a had a coin for every time a character looked at the camera with a finger pistol and said "bang/pow" and it made me incredibly sad, i would have two coins..... not a lot but SO FUCKING SAD THAT IT HAPPENDED TWICE!!!

nick

I don’t think he was seeing their future. I think he was seeing them as they really were, inhuman puppets for the Arcane. If it really was just a hive mind then they wouldn’t have all gone catatonic just from Viktor dying. The implication is that Viktor’s “miracles” were always taking far more than they ever gave back.

unknown organism

I like this theory best. For one, since when has Jayce ever had foresight about anything? For two, yeah there are real questionable signs about how Viktor's healing affects people, but we see his interiority as he's helping Vander. At worst Viktor has been mildly corrupted to overlook the human harm in what he's doing. But he's obviously, to his core, driven by kindness and compassion. He goes out of his way to defend Vander's humanity and individuality. It's clearly not his intent to create a dehumanizing collective.

Usually Shalune

I just... my father was murdered so stuff like this... I cant look past what Jinx did... I'll be pissed if she just gets redeemed cause she's really really sad and deserves it, I don't really... care... or sympathise with her, at all

Talon Karrde

After the first season of Arcane was so popular, Riot changed the lore so that Arcane is the new canon and everything else has changed around that

Scott hill

"so cute, they did a little animation of isha putting the arcane balls in her pocket" ye hahaha cute hahahahahaha

Matthew Calleja

Alicia should have known better then to say she was happy....

Seraphem

its more akin to kaenic rookern item in league of legends, the magic defense item that blocks magic!

Justin Matthews

Alicia: I wont have to talk about this episode to my therapist after Me: *whos already seen the episode* Oh my sweet summer child, this episode is all you'll talk about.

Gekido

Between this, Dandadan and the finale for Penguin (I was a week behind due to work) this has been a week of my favorite shows have terrible actions occur in them breaking my heart

Robert Collard

I love how Ambessa’s right hand man uses a weapon with runes similar to Riven’s

Otomos

They gave us a baby just to take away from us, cruel, pure evil

Leticia

ABSOLUTE CINEMA

ZsleepyZ

Viktor learns through death, that flesh is weak, that humanity is the weakness, the hexcore will probably save him but finish his transition to a machine, the revolution begins. wha the did to these ppl was not a good thing, he linked them all to him, made them a hivemind, they all died because he died, were they really still alive? also if you want to cry some more, Isha was forshadowed Isha is a gender-neutral name of Hindu origin, meaning “one who protects”. This name comes from a Sanskrit word that means “the ruling Goddess” or “the ruler”. Isha holds great significance in Hinduism as it is used to describe the God Shiva in Hindu religious scripture.

Maxxy

But we need Bilgewater as the location for the next LoL show, all my homies are from Bilgewater. Also if I don't see my man Mundo in the last act I'll be real mad.

Waldodissimo

If you want to learn more about the current lore of LoL and get videos out of it, you could react to Necrit's videos, he also did some great hidden detail videos about the first season of Arcane and the first two acts of this season so far.

Waldodissimo

I can’t imagine what Viktor looked like to Jayce.

slavicandsapphic

At first, I immediately felt anger and hatred towards Jayce, but TikTok has helped me realize I need to have a calmer and more logical thought process. He wouldn’t just thoughtlessly kill Viktor without reason. Even though it’s extremely painful, and Riot Games is evil for making us suffer, I’m not going to fault Jayce too much until act 3. I still don’t fuck with Caitlyn anymore.

mykanike

Something tells me her therapist got an earful about this episode xD

RussellSD

I don't think Jayce is crazy. When you see flashes of what he sees in Victor's cult it's all Void shit. Also when in the last episode Jayce killed Salo(leg guy), Salo was acting like a different person. And in Jayce's vision all of them have empty heads... Sooo, I think there weren't much human left in cultists...

Clockwork Rin

I have a theory Jace saw some kind of future through the wild rune, came back to try and stop it and accidentally made it happen by killing Viktor. Those flashes he was seeing of the commune members looking husk-like may well be what they'll now become now that their hivemind was hurt

Aethergoggles

This after Dandadan E7... I'm so sorry, Alicia lol

Matt Lothe

I'm theorizing that it wasn't Viktor's death that caused Vander to go berserk because the compound that Singed mixed in the thing he was going to use on Vander was orange too. Just like what was leaking out of him when he lost it. And during Viktor's Monologue, it shows Singest standing there in the wreckage of the place they were keeping him. I think he woke up when they left the room and injected him.

Dead Man Talking

Arcane is now canon lore btw :)

Jasmin Jakobsen

I KNOW RIGHT!!! those last moments ruined me gods it was so good but hurt so much!!!

Nim

WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nim

I would love to see some lore dive reactions Riots lore is so good and I believe they have said Arcane is now top of the list of what is canon from what I understood anyway

Daiga54

So fun fact with Riot incorporating the lore from Arcane, in between season 1 and 2 Riot decided that Arcane would be cannon and would be replacing every character in leagues story with Arcanes version, we can assume this will be their strategy after Arcane, so odds are that whatever we see out of Fortiche (the company making Arcane) related to lol is 100% canon going forwards. Also Ambessa was recently added to lol as the first Arcane character to come to the game and its been announced that Mel might be the next character after Ambessa as we are getting a female midlane mage thats from Arcane

Polarbear Bowl

Y’all wanna know something cool? Isha used multiple hextech gemstones (the stable version of hextech) in an attempt to save her family from a monster, just like how Powder used multiple hextech crystals (the unstable version of hextech) in an attempt to save her family from a monster. Isha is everything Powder wished she could have been back then: a “big fat hero”. And she was inspired by Jinx herself to be that hero. So basically Jinx’s first 100% healthy relationship was with a more self-assured version of her past self. I honestly don’t want to comment what I think may happen with Jinx next because I feel like there’s many ways the writers may take this… but personally I hope that her learning to love someone that represents her younger self and experiencing the act of being truly valued by the people she’s around has been enough to change her so she does not break again.

Chelly

Yeah Caitlyn nasty. She is like. Alright so we need to make it convincing. Spit on me!!

Alex Lofftus

Arcane "happy" episode

Karudyr

This has not been a good week with some of my favorite shows breaking my heart

Robert Collard

I was just expecting something like “PAIN” ngl, cuz wtf those last moments in the episode were on par with episode 3 of season 1 except maybe worse 😭

Chelly

oh no I don't like that description
