Ice king is a good man who's trapped in a labyrinth in his own mind and 90% of the things he see's arn't even real. These are hardly comparable. Like her plan for getting rid of lemon grab was literally just to torture him until he left the candy kingdom.

The appearance of the modern plane in the tape (and the fact that they're VHS tapes just like the ones in earlier episodes that Jake explicitly says are "From before The Great Mushroom War") clues you in that The Ice King is from before The Great Mushroom War as well.

2024-11-20 20:29:19 +0000 UTCThe lore in AT is hardcore and you will need a cosnpiracy board to wrap it all together, because just like onepiece, some 'filler' episodes ends up being really important later, like the time treetrunks ate the crystal apple and then we saw a subsequent episode of that, or with the lich episode possesing pb and ice king saying that he sees stuff that he doesnt know if are real and then connects with this one... also, put real close attention to the window in Simon's video, since there stuff happening there,like the airplane on the back, we learned with bananaman that airplanes arent reinvented yet... so he was alive when humans were around, like her fiance betty, so... there is more lore there (simon petrikov is iceking real name)

He says that with his magic vision he can’t even tell if the stuff he sees is even real so he wasn’t sure if it had happened and then with a very sad tone says he sees the visions always. Poor boy is literally just a dementia patient and acts erratic because of it.

This was what made me think there is more to this show at the time. (note: I was not able to watch the episodes in order at the time so I never saw the first 3 seasons correctly)

2024-11-20 14:56:17 +0000 UTCSomething that really jabs me in the heart is that he doesn't really want any of these women he chases, he wants Betty, but his mind is so scrambled that he can't remember her, he just remembers that he called her his princess, and his heart has a longing for his princess to love him again--the only way his wacked out mind can make sense of that feeling is with a desperation to find a princess to fill that void.
