2024-11-24 08:34:03 +0000 UTCWhy is it important? Well that's a super easy question to answer, so easy I'm surprised you even asked the question in the first place really. Because, it helps give insight into Gobber as a character and helps us the viewer understand him as a well written character better that is why it is important. Being gay doesn't define him as a character it just is a small part of him. It isn't the most important line or scene in the movie of course but for Gobber as a character in the trilogy of movies it is one of the most pivotal moments. Obviously Alicia missed it she was busy with a different tangent and wasn't paying enough attention, hence my feeling the need to point it out. Unlike many recent "modern" media portrayals of a gay character, that character being gay is their one key defining trait and everything about them revolves around their "gayness" everything else about their character is secondary. Gobber being gay isn't the most important thing about him it is just a part of him, it doesn't define him. A lesson that current Hollywood script writers are I'm afraid very much in need of, but sadly I think refuse to learn. They instead want to "put the cart in front of the horse" not understanding that in doing so the "horse" can't move forward.

2024-11-23 23:17:58 +0000 UTCWhat i love about these movies is that they stay away from a LOT of common tropes, one of my favorites is Hiccup and Astrids relationship, theres never any drama or falling out, any teenage angsty argument, they just have a healthy, independent but supportive relationship. Its so refreshing to see. Also, i think you misunderstood Valka's character a bit, she would gladly go back to her family, her dreams are not in any way in opposition to that. She didn't go back all those years out of fear, the last time she was there her toddler son and husband almost got burned to death because she couldn't stomach killing a dragon, they didn't show any sign of change and she couldn't change herself, that clash would've made her a liability to her family. You can tell with what she tells Stoick that shes really just repeating what she feels guilty about herself. The nest could've easily been moved, the alpha could've just built another one at Berk, her dream is to be a peacekeeper, someone who'd bridge the gap between humans and dragons which she could perfectly do from Berk, travelling doesn't need to be a part of that and when it does she'd still have a home among her family.

Folks around here are probably most likely to know him as Korath The Pursuer from the MCU (the guy who confusedly says "Star Lord?" Early on in Guardians of the Galaxy, but he's more famous in the mainstream for his dramatic roles as Cinque in Amistad and as Solomon Vandy in Blood Diamond which he got an oscar nomination for. And finally seasons 3-8 is called Race to the Edge. The series takes place between HTTYD and HTTYD 2. The series shows tons of amazing new dragons, characters and adventures. Maybe after you watch HTTYD 3, you give the series a try?

Not a rush and can wait but if you liked the movies and it's vibe the series are a very good depiction! both take place between and they explore MANY of the unexplored dragons.

Share their worries, respect each other and most importantly of all, have fun together. They are just a really healthy couple. When it first came out I was worried that they were going to do that thing a lot of sequels do, where they kinda dial back the relationship, so that they can continue to milk the early stages of it. But her and Hiccup really feels like someone who have been together for a while. Finally, fucking hell, Stoic meeting Valka again, and singing The Dancing and the Dreaming gets me every time. Also, I find it worth noting that Hiccups first action as a Chief was drafting babies and riding them to war. That is all.

Riders of Berk Defenders of Berk Race to the edge All of them take place between the first and second movies. They kind of follow their own canon that disconnects from the movies a tiny bit but not enough to ruin the experience. They're all really good and would make a great long running series

But for your husband and son to come find you, tell you that the village had changed, and even show you (via the dragons they arrived on), she did want that again. And it doesn't mean she has to give up all of what she does: she might not travel the world, but she gets to be with the people she cares about most, AND get to be a dragon rider.

It is the tool elephant tamers would use to control their animals. The tragic trick is that they would be abused by it when young so they forever learned to fear it, but it was the tool they feared, not the person. The Alpha that Drago controls most often looks at the weapon when receiving commands. In some cases, if the person dropped the bilhook, the elephant would take the chance to trample the person. You may even notice in the movie, that the when Drago first dropped it in the final fight, he starts losing.

But as you saw, he is listening more, but i also think he's way backed up on his knowledge that he's been ITCHING to pass off. And also, that's hiccup's dad. His dad seems to know drago very well, and it wasn't for a good reason.
