Iron Man 3

:D MARVEL TIME

Comments

Now weird thing. Obviously it's a lot less worst than what Alicia is talking about, but I got what I would call a nostalgia attack probably comparable to an anxiety attack, and I realise only now as Alicia is saying it, because I was looking at a picture of something I had big nostalgia on and I had not seen in a while, and as soon as I saw it, my body became hot and I felt my heart burn in a way I had never felt before, I genuinly thought I was having a cardiac arrest even though I had no preexisting conditions. So while the context is different, and feeling like you are dying just because you saw a picture seems a bit silly, it still happened and I think I get it.

Minidiamant

"Anyone who's got push back slick back hair is a villain" Me who has slick back hair because mommy used to tell me it looks good on me: :c

DaichiOkami

1:10:00 my favourite bit is that they keep adding those little flirty pics of her face... It is so dumb in the best possible way.

Miklar Sihn

2:17:42 bro was checking for a badge

Josh

Fun fact, the plane scene where Tony catches all those people, they actually filmed that in the air, they wanted to make look as realistic as possible, so they literally put all of them on a plane, had them jump, and did that whole scene in the air

Ben Gross

Funny that you mentioned to help someone with who’s having a panic attack, get them to think about something else. I saw a video about an mma coach who in between rounds will ask them simple math questions, and when they answer correctly, he knows they’re in the right state of mind to receive coaching, I wonder if there’s any connection between the two ideas

Ben Gross

“Don’t yell at me, you’re not my boss” had the same vibe as “you’re not my dad!” 😂

Ben Gross

I just had garlic bread and lasagna, it was great

Fei Ashtear

I am happy the keto era ended in time for the holidays. Going through the back log has been a ride. I could really go for some garlic bread right now.

Fei Ashtear

This film is hard for me to compare to the others in the trilogy bc of how different it is. More drama, less jokes, less action. I think iron man 1 is still the most fun of the trilogy, but with the parts of it that shines, iron man 3 is my favorite of the trilogy.

Andrew birds

I miss the marvel reactions. I hope you get back into them soon. I know putting out videos is hard work. Love your channel no matter what though

D S

Damn, just got Patreon, guess this killed the marvel watch?

Noah Burke

Honestly i like it more then the first two tho the original villian of the extremis storyline was far more terrifyingly powerful then killian

Charlie baker

No shot you like either of the first two thor movies better

Charlie baker

Iron man 3 is honestly my favorite as a comic fan personally

Charlie baker

yess I'm so excited for her winter soldier reaction, easily my fave marvel movie

Amy ☆

My fav movie reaction will be coming soon , after iron man 3 reaction .It's arguably the best marvel movie of all time , captain America : The winter soldier , F**** YEEEEEAH WOOOO.

jason remy

This movie is done by the same guy that directed Downey in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, which is a gem if you haven't seen it, but it follows the same thematic beats as this film lol

Tsu Aloe Vera

Marvel reactions switching to monthly?

Logan McLeod

Been a while since the last Marvel reaction. Thought Alicia mentioned Phase 2 being almost done on Patreon? (Not a complaint, just confused if I'm missing something)

Dain Greywall

rewatching this and then realising what movies are next has me so excited for future reactions

Amy ☆

Sometimes I wonder how they went from a movie that was OK to a movie that we do not speak of to just peak for a long time

C Tuley

It's the only movie I can remember watching multiple times in theaters. I watched that thing in theaters three times when it came out. Probably still my favorite non-Avengers Marvel movie.

Ace of Blades

It isn't just that Tony needs to work through NYC. It's also that to almost every kid in the country, maybe every kid in the world, that's when Tony became their hero. The reason every kid is trying to ask him about NYC and the wormhole is that that's when Tony saved the world. That's when Tony did the coolest thing they'd ever seen. Ever.

Josie Finch

Great reaction to the film with the same sort of view of the movie. The only thing that let it down for me is the talking with mouth full of food and eating directly into the mic.

Samuel Brewer

If it makes you feel better the lead cinematographer of this film (John Toll) hasn't worked on a single other marvel mcu movie. Unfortunately the cinematographer of Iron man 1 and 2 hasn't either unless you count Venom

Dr Bunko

I remember going to see this movie in theaters, and maybe it was because I was too young g to get the more adult suspense things, but I don’t remember like most of it. I remember the fire people, the kid he worked with, and the Mandarin fake out. And for some reason the oil rig but I didn’t understand why it was on an oil rig or anything, I just k ew it was scaffolding. I knew I thought the catching people from the plane was awsome and I remember “Barrel of Monkeys.” I think that sums up why it’s not really my favorite. It’s good… but it feels more like any old thriller and not a superhero movie

Fobbles

Idk man this feels like a bit of a pointless nitpick. Ultimately him being relegated to just his wits and his engineering skills makes for a better story. I personally think the movie would be much worse if he just got his old suit. And I think the script did the work to justify this.

Rakoon Shampoo

Alicia can't save anyone because isn't even real. She's an anime girl stupid.

Seroili

I ended up having a bad high once and my sisters ended up staying with me to keep me calm. I told them how I was feeling and the middle sibling told me it sounded like one of her panic attacks. Over the summer this year I ended up having my first real panic attack and was able to recognize what was going on thanks to the previous experience. It helps if I just keep reminding myself that I'm alright and that its all in my head like a mantra.

J-Rod

Gotta say way better than I remember Hopefully, I can say the same thing about Thor 2, But I know after that, we got three bangers in a row after that I can’t wait

hellsing12

I've had some trouble with the Hulu player, but a quick refresh gets rid of it. This one was ridiculous.

Ramizis

He then changed his whole platform and is like, “I need to be the Prime Minister the Rat Queen can be proud of.”

Guy

Im so fucking ready for the full marvel experience.

HappyMeal 4Fun

There's something seriously wrong with the Disney+ player. I've never seen another video player where the video controls need time to load every time you skip forward. The video itself might need time to load, sure, but the menu buttons? That shouldn't be a thing. It's not a thing with Netflix, or YouTube, or the player Alicia uses here, or anywhere else.

Alex H. Larsen

Can't wait for you to get to the other Avengers movies!

Erik Nilsson

Worse case scenario, there should've been one in Avenger's Tower in NY. And anyhow, I refuse to believe all those suits couldn't have busted out without cranes helping clear the clutter. But it was the one that absolutely should've been one in NY.

sandbun

1:50:00 Imagine if Justin Trudeau watches Alicia’s reactions and is just really distraught right now XD

hemahemahema

All the suits he had left were in the cellar area of the house, which was buried under debris. If you listen to Tony talking to Jarvis, he was being updated on cranes coming to (what’s left of) the house to clear the area, so he knew going into the final fight he could call the suits, but it wasn’t possible before.

hemahemahema

I’m looking forward to it today!

Arian Khalil

Marvel One-Shots, I miss them. I think this was the last one though, they never made another.

hemahemahema

I think they were referring to the short as a second post credit, highly reccomend you check those out btw

AzulSora

Once you finish Thor 2 you will be in the golden age of super hero movies it's just banger after banger.

Jacob

I’m not going to pretend I know which country you’re talking about. But to me those talking points sound like the stuff every conservative politician says about every group of immigrants. Don’t let them trick you, it’s usually just a way to deflect away from the government’s own incompetence by blaming their own faults on a small group of outsiders who usually can’t defend themselves.

unknown organism

2014 was a great, GREAT year for Marvel, like holy shit where did this level of awesomeness come from.

hemahemahema

That's all I got to say, have anything else to say to me I'll ignore it.

Joyo Boy

Bro, don't question it, some are real shitty and I'm talking bout the immigrants, 2 years back when they started migrating in my country they were expecting we give them absolutely everything they want, I'm just against it all the way and the people who do bad shit in my country okay? They forced some parents from kids in our school to pay for the immigrants and most never had money for their kids

Joyo Boy

I have no idea what you’re trying to say here. I don’t think some Ukrainian immigrants/refugees living comfortably(which is bad?) or being gold diggers is as important as the fact that their home country is being invaded and bombed into oblivion.

unknown organism

A protective shell surrounding the globe. A defensive barrier circumscribing the Earth. A metallic casing enclosing the planet. Damn I suck at phrasing. Maybe Tony Stark can come up with something better...

hemahemahema

man I'm living in the middle of Ukraine and Russia so I know definitely what's happening, and some Ukraine people are living their best life in our country most of 'em stealing money from our people by manipulating them with charm or stuff like that, and I was a witness of one Ukraine woman stealing a men's fortune because he slept with her and she lied she was pregnant and planned on telling his damn wife, no I'm definitely not a fan.

Joyo Boy

Damn these films are so much better than I remember. I will say you got to keep in mind that the mcu films are all connected so even if this is the last iron man film it doesn’t mean he won’t return. The mcu has a shit ton of origin and spin off films of each of the character then you have films like avengers featuring them all together

Nightmareman99

Imma be honest, this was the first time I’ve rewatched this movie since it was in theaters. I like it and I also think it’s better than 2, it’s just not as “fun” overall

GenericSideCharacter

Totally forgot Jenna Ortega was the VP's daughter in this lmao

Kiru

Well all his other suits seemed to be in a vault buried under a mountain of rubble. And I think the suits from Iron Man 1 - Avengers were in the house that was blown up. So idk I think the script addressed this particular issue just fine.

Rakoon Shampoo

I agree Alicia - think of all the good an army of autonomous iron man suits controlled by Jarvis could do in the world. An Iron Shield around the world.

Benjamin Keppel

Iron man 3 was definitely better on a rewatch for me - unlike Hulk.

Bologna Amputation

1:06:00 my ass took me after the fact she was fighting Tony to think that she was the bad dude my first time watching this on theater 😭😭

Jimmy Recinos

Regarding the Mandarin, I didn't mind the twist so much as, Marvel already had an issue with boring uninteresting villains outside Loki, and it just felt like such a waste to build up this cool character and then throw him away for a cheap joke and some loser who couldn't get over that Tony stood him up one time.

sandbun

Probably my least favorite of the Marvel movies through at least the first 3 phases, even if Thor 2 is probably worse. Mostly because I had seen the avengers - I knew Tony had other suits, if only in NY if nowhere else.. So I spent the whole movie saying "Call one of your other suits. Call it now. Why aren't you calling it? This is dumb, stop wasting time on this broken one, call one of your other suits. No, don't go after your huge rival with some christmas decorations as weapons. This is dumb. Call one of your other suits. Why are you not calling one of your other suits?" And then they finally do, and just turn them into fireworks to make the spectacle so hopefully you don't ask why he didn't call them sooner. But it's a giant issue that they keep slapping you in the face with if you realize it early, and ruins the entire movie experience.

sandbun

the marvel movies are actually not completely independent there are a ton of movies later on that will have references to other movies because of specific events since all of them share the same universe.

Spicy Noodles

My favorite scene was Alicia's battle with the Disney+ player with the backdrop of dramatic cinematic music.

Ramizis

We spend so much time without the suit that IM3 doesnt really feel like a superhero movie most of the time

Cole Savoie

1:17:30 The Mandarin, brought to you by Nord VPN

Really is good to see these movies from the perperspective of someone who doesn't know marvel stuff. InIncredible guess work for later movies too

Tomorrow I am!! :D

aliciaxlife

I have very mixed feelings about this film. I enjoyed it, I think it’s a good movie (definitely not the best though) and I REALLY got a kick out of Ben Kingsley’s performance, but I HATE that we did not get the real Mandarin. As others have stated the comic book version of the Mandarin is much different from the MCU version. He is Iron Man’s Archenemy, a descendant of Genghis Khan and wielder of the Ten Rings. These Rings each have their own unique power and are actually of alien origin. They are also connected to another really cool Iron Man villain called Fin Fang Foom who is a colossal alien dragon that at one point slept beneath the Great Wall of China. I really feel like instead of going with Killian and Extremis, it would have beefed better to use the real Mandarin and Fin Fang Foom to really explore Tony’s trauma and coming to grips with forces beyond his world view.

BakaSama

A horrible little detail I like to point out: 1st Harley says his dad left 6 years ago. Then we find out his little sister is 6. ...yeah.

hemahemahema

Alicia’s Marvel Ratings Iron Man - 8/10 Avengers - 8/10 Captain America First Avenger - 8/10 Iron Man 2 - 7.5/10 Thor - 7/10 Iron Man 3 - 5/10 Incredible Hulk - 4/10

Broford

"3 Marvel movies in a row". ...we are getting to The Winter Soldier!? Not exaggerating, but that movie is like my...religion.

hemahemahema

Yeah, pretty much the general take on this movie. Not bad, but weaker then the other two. Though it gets a lot more flak from comic fans for the Mandarin twist given what a big deal he is in the comics.

Seraphem

I think setting a movie at Christmas gives it an automatic +30% to it’s vibes score.

Rakoon Shampoo

1:21:25 I am Starks top guy! God damn I have to do this because I am his top guy!

Blooocki :3

Hey now. B&Q isn’t nothing.

hemahemahema

Yes, we might simplify the concept as…”protective covering surrounding the globe” For no particular reason.

hemahemahema

The sad thing about this movie is that Rebecca Hall’s Maya Hansen was meant to be the main villain behind the fake Mandarin. But it was believed female supervillains wouldn’t sell toys so we got Guy Pearce instead. It’s a real shame, Tony’s anxiety is related to his commitment to Pepper, so we’d have had some juicy drama if the main villain was a fling from his womanising days who maybe still carried a torch for him. A few movies in Phase 2 got hit with top-level meddling like this, unfortunately.

hemahemahema

I got a soft spot for this movie due to watching it in Premiere night. I acknowledge there was a change in style that was not to everyone's liking, and a questionable way to adapt some things from the comics, but it was a fun film nonetheless. Also, I think Happy was checking out if the nurse was wearing her badge.

FaDR

41:44 there is this one widow which literally bought a tank to go to the front of war herself because she lost her husband. She was a master at commandering this tank and did whole lot of damage to the enemy. Forgot which side she fought on tho.

Blooocki :3

I'm so happy you use the metric system

Blooocki :3

Yeah I can see that which is why I respect when people give that as reasoning for disliking the movie. For me, I think a good example is that Injustice Movie that was made. I hate that movie so much cause of how disrespectful it is to the source material, but ik a lot people enjoyed it cause they don’t know anything but the adaptation.

mykanike

The Mandarin in the MCU is very different from how is in the comics. The original version of the character used alien tech called the Ten Rings, and each ring gave him a different superpower.

Sam Swift

Do you plan on watching LOTR Two Towers today?

Arian Khalil

In case you missed, the necklace Tony put on Pepper at the end was made from Tony's shrapnel

Pawoof_

Happy was checking if the nurse had her security tag at the end :D

aramis alfons

I loved this movie in 3D when I seen it in theaters. Every time the suit parts flew to someone they were in 3D and it made the movie feel so much cooler. In 3D I give a 9 out of 10 on the marvel scale. 8 out 10 without cause I do agree that the pacing was all over the place. This movie was also meant to be a Christmas movie originally but it released in May due to some delays. Kinda made it weird how they just kept mentioning that.

Destroy4Fun

At 1:13:00, the TV series Westworld came 3 years after this movie. I think Tony is referencing the 1973 movie Westworld starring Yul Brynner (which the TV series is kind of an adaption of).

Bob

1.19.22 good job i was mid drink

nick bunston

You pretty much got the general judgement of the movies by the majority down. What also hurt this movie is the outrage of fans about the Mandarin since he is Iron Man's nemesis in the comics and his depiction here is very meh.

GeneralBass

Bro what are you talking about? The Hulk and Iron Man 2 were "magical masterworks"???

McLovin

Big reccomendaiton! Make sure to check out who the director is at the end of each film; they often have radically different approaches to filming and storytelling. 1-2 were done by Jon Faverau, this one was done by Shane Black. Admittedly, sometimes it makes the trilogies feel a bit less cohesive, but often for marvel it means each one can bring something new to the direction.

PrivateXimmy

As one of those “Iron Man 3 is the best Iron Man movie” I agree. There are dozens of us. DOZENS!!!

Robert Collard

Screw all the crappy Marvels movies (not the good ones) post Lord of The Rings already

Wanbli Wakua

Iron man 3 not as good as the first one. Thor the dark world: Hold my beer...

Morris and his code

I can't wait.

TurtleKungFu

58:30 As someone with an absent dad, I give Tony the pass.

N00B

Between 2 and 3 is hard, 1 and 4 are bit easier to put behind.

PrivateXimmy

Id' say it's Iron man 3>1>2 for me

Fenronin (Dorian Dubourg)

Ya, The Mandarin in Ironman 3 is probably the first in a line of lame villains. Followed by Dark Elves and probably the Lamest one, Ronan the Accuser(He’s soooo boring).

Moviejunkie

So while Iron Man 3 is a really liked movie, it's also probably the most weird one in terms of choices made. There's a pretty drastic choice they make which fans are really split on with the Mandarin. Originally the Mandarin was THE Iron Man villain, and he is.....very different. In the movie he's leader of a terrorist organization called the ten rings. However in the comics, Mandarin has ten rings which each grant him a different superpower. Now they changed it for the movie obviously but a lot of people are mixed on it. On the one hand you completely butcher one of, if not the biggest villain in Iron Man's mythos, because it's a huge departure from the tone of the MCU as a whole. On the other hand it leads to an pretty neat reveal. Another weird choice they Make is the Iron Patrot. Now this is an iron man armor, but.........ok there's a lot that leads up to this, but to cut to the chase, Spider-Man's arch enemy Norman Osborn gets his hands on Iron Man armor and pretends to be a superhero called Iron Patroit while just being a piece of SHIT on the down low. It's cool seeing it in live action but it's just another odd choice for the movie. And the whole Extremis thing is also weird because it functions differently than in the comics, I believe it works differently for each person? Because Tony injects himself with it at one point and that's what causes him to be able to summon his suit to himself instead of those impants he has. Now I don't want to come off as a hater of this flick, I enjoy it's vibes and the story of how Tony deals with his PTSD. The plane rescue sequence is one of the best scenes in the whole MCU I think, and seeing tony cobble gadgets together is really cool to see and shows off just how smart he is. Overall I think this is a good Iron Man flick, it's my number 2 pick behind the first movie, it's just kind of odd.

Jacob Goodheart

Cool, thanks.

Argon

Some MCU films have one after credit, others two. From here on out most of them will have two, only a few will have one.

Riku1186

And that just get more and more prominent as Tony gets more people in his life to protect.

N00B

It’s on the list

Lythr0_Nax

“Because Tony learns from his mistakes.”

GavinGamePad3DS

Is Alicia also going to watch Deadpool?

Argon

Iron Man 3: Mandarin chicken with garlic bread.

DanielTheHamster

"thank god I have garlic bread". I need that on a t-shirt

Artemis

Fun little detail you may have missed. the necklace he gave pepper at the end has the shrapnel in the chain

Azweldin

The movies never explicitly point this out, but I love how in every movie Tony has upgraded his suit to deal with something that almost killed him in the last movie. Like when he was attacked on the racecourse in Iron Man 2, Happy had to physically bring him a suitcase that turned into a suit. Then in The Avengers, he has a little bracelet that allows the suit to track him so he can put it on mid-air when Loki throws him out a window. Then in this movie, he’s clearly gone “not good enough, each piece of the suit needs to be able to fly through the air and independently attach to the relevant part of my body”. It’s such a cool detail!!

John Playstation

FYI Alicia, they do the "(Name Here) will return." thing at the end of the credits of every movie. But due to the way they did production, multiple would usually be in the works at the same time, especially from this point on, which is why you'd have them referencing a specific movie, like Captain America returning in The Avengers. But when they know a character will return but there's nothing currently in production involving the character on the movie's release, they just do something like a simple "Tony Stark will return." like you see at the end here. There is no specific title there because they didn't have one yet.

Ellerian

Unfortunately, you're past the point where EVERY MCU movie is going to be a magical masterwork. There are still some really good ones coming, but the quality is going to be more uneven. Notes on this movie: -The treatment of The Mandarin is...divisive. In the Comics, The Mandarin is Iron Man's nemesis, as Joker to Batman, Red Skull to Captain America, etc. So the bait and switch REALLY pissed some people off. At the same time the Comic Mandarin started out as a Fu Manchu/Yellow Menace Archetype. Oh no, fear those dastardly chinese and their low cunning and exotic ways! So AIUI they felt they needed to zig-zag the character in SOME way because they were afraid of playing it too close to comics would come across as #problematic in the current era. Personally, I think revamping him into a terrorist mastermind would've worked real well and I can write a whole schtick on revamping him into a figure who is basically in opposition to Tony Stark and Iron as emblems of western technological progress, American Entrepeneurship and the military-industrial complex, and you see hints of that in THIS treatment, even! -Yes, Iron man has a LOT of villains in his rogue gallery that are evil mad scientists or evil inventors/Tech CEOs/Weapons Designers/etc. A LOT of them. -You commented that Tony could do so much good with robotic suits of armor deploying in large numbers all over the world controlled by Jarvis. Please Remember This Comment For No Particular Reason.

Linnaeus

I lot of people say this is the weakest of the three Iron man films, but i say it's almost the best.

Gildarts1#fan

I won't forgive how badly they scuffed Iron Man's most iconic villain.

TurtleKungFu

Of the Iron Man series, think this is my middle one, with the OG being the tops. Overall though, definitely not one I feel much need to revisit. Still a good reaction though.

Derekloffin

and teased said fix with this film's blue ray short ''all hail to the king'', which was the only hint of it up until shang chi. thing is the ''mandarin'' here had his comic look DOWN, the robes ,the rings, they tied it in with the group that captured tony in the first film. if they didn't go for the red herring it might've been a better movie, with killian working for the actual main bad guy, you'd still have the extremis arc, you'd still have the mandarin arc. not to say i didn't enjoy the movie when it first came out, cause i damn well did, but if they didn't pull the misdirect it would be a top tier marvel film

Ozone279

Look i’ll just say, i like the film so it sorta distorts my perception of The Mandarin. But also, i have ZERO attachment to The Mandarin as he is in the comics, he was a C list character during a time where Tony Stark was a C list character in the comics. So I do not have the sorta appreciation for the original form of the character, so therefore I’m fine with the twist. I don’t think he’s a joke though, bc Trevor isn’t the Mandarin, he plays the Mandarin for the Aldrich who is actually the Mandarin. So I don’t agree that the Mandarin is a joke, because Killian Aldrich isn’t treated as a joke. I think it’s a change that is helping the film, not hindering it. It isn’t faithful, but I don’t think everything has to be faithful for it to be good.

Ethan

Understandable. I've never been big into comics myself, but had a friend that was at the time describe it to me like "How would you feel watching the first Spider-Man movie and seeing it build towards the Green Goblin reveal... But then suddenly it's just some dork in a Halloween mask, the Goblins not even in the franchise, and instead you got some random other guy!"

QuibblesAndGitz

To be fair, he gave such a strong impression from the beginning of the film and in the trailers that expectations were set really high for him. It was being compared to Heath Ledgers Joker, a reimagining of the character that could become a modern classic. Instead, he was turned into a punchline and replaced with a villain we had seen twice already. An old millionaire rival of Tony Stark.

Kristian

It’s divisive, I think The Mandarin in this film works, it works for this film and the story. It’s a change from the comics for sure, but that doesn’t mean that it’s a bad change, for the film they made I think it’s fine and I don’t think that is what divided most fans of the film, I doubt most fans who saw the film at the time even knew The Mandarin from the comics, he’s a very C-List character to be honest. I genuinely think, this film is where people started to see, what me and you now know as “MCUing” or things being “MCU’d” that phrase people use to label things that are directed very basically and have quippy one liners that break up moments of seriousness. This film really is the start of that, it will become more noticeable later though. That style divides people and it’s why around this time and further along moving the MCU started to get this bad wrap.

Ethan

I think what determines which side of that you end up on is whether or not you care about the movie turning The Mandarin into a red herring/punchline.. For comic fans, that would be like having the Green Goblin just be some kid in a Halloween costume instead of an actual Spiderman villian

QuibblesAndGitz

I think an important cause of that divisiveness is not the tone shift, its the handling of one of Ironmans biggest nemises, The Mandarin. Fans can handle tone shifts, they deal with it enough in comic books, but when you turn a primary antagonist into a red herring and a joke, you have MAYBE 2 movies to fix that.. Instead, they waited 8 years to eventually make Shang Chi (which had nothing to do with Ironman)

QuibblesAndGitz

I quite like this film. It’s very divisive I feel amongst the fan base, because it sorta marks a tone shift in the MCU that some people like, some people don’t. People sometimes say how this can be skipped, I disagree I think this film is must viewing at the very least for the development of Tony Stark moving forward in the MCU. Thor 2 however, I’ll be interested in seeing what you think. I’ve only seen it once, and there’s a reason.

Ethan

I think out of all the Iron Man appearances one is probably the best three I’d say is probably second and then after that, it’s pretty much all the avenger movies and all that stuff Iron Man two is kind of like the bottom of the barrel one for me

Daisy Azuras

I think I’ve re-watched Iron Man three more than I’ve rewatch Iron Man one even though I like the original Iron Man a lot more Iron Man two I’ve never really rewatch I mean it other than here and at once in a while with friends if they haven’t seen it yet, but like I don’t watch that one for pleasure

Daisy Azuras

What's interesting about this movie is that they pissed A Lot of fans off with their portrayal of the Mandarin. So much so that Marvel came out with a 10 minute short titled Hail to the King as an apology a year later. The Mandarin is Tony/Iron Man's big/main recurring villain in the comics going back decades. A lot of fans did not appreciate Trevor Slattery.

Roto

Iron Man 3 feels like a filler movie. You could skip it and you would basically lose nothing from the cinematic universe.

Okoga

Rather watch paint dry tbh

Photon Pnk

I didn't like Iron man 3 as much as the other two. For me Tony lost a few points in this one. Sure he was going through PTSD after Avengers, but I don't see why that makes him joke around and ignore all the warnings. The comedy might be coping sure, but I would think he would take a few things far more seriously.

YukoValis

Titanium man really loves cheeseburgers 🍔

winch 234

For me, this was the best Iron Man, the one where Tony finally earns the hero title. But you're going to be getting Captain America 2 and 3 soonish which will just blow this away regardless. This movie marks the point where the stakes start to get a lot higher because we're now building towards the goal of this whole project. Everything up to and including Avengers was the setup, now we're building towards the climax.

Kevin Bartelen

FINALLY, LET'S GO!

Easy Mode - A.I

The thing I liked most about this one is showing that Tony is a superhero whether or not he has a suit. I loved how inventive he was, how he Home Alone-d bad guys, it really showcases his genius outside of just iron man suits.

David Bodor

im over haldf a boittle deep of vodka SOP WE AR BOTH for a trip in this movie experince hella yeah

Spicy Noodles

Power through this and Dark World, and the rest of Phase 2 is generally great.

rainyfriday

In regards to multiple end credit scenes. The one at the end of the regular credits like this one is always the last scene. Some movies will also have one when they transition from the animated credits to the scrolling ones, but that's less common.

Matt Clark

I agree, Iron Man 1 is by far the best of the trilogy, but I think 3 is underrated, I prefer it over 2.

David Bodor

Man I thought Winter Soldier came out between these movies. I cant wait till you check it out. I remember watching Iron man 3 hyped of for the mandarin. And they played with my soul lol

Yahroh

I love Iron Man 3, as it shows us again what we first saw in 1.... The suit is not Iron Man.... Tony is, when his backs against the wall (like in the cave), at his most dangerous

FlaschenJoe11

Dark World is enjoyable too.

Adam

The problem is every other candidate is either a shittier choice, or unlikely to get elected.

Adam

FYI, it was intended that the botanist would be the actual mastermind, but of course executive meddling got in the way (they wanted to sell toys and make money instead of letting a woman be a villain). And yes, Tony Stark will return for more Avengers movies

Joshua Garingan

I remember when they were hyping up Iron Man 3, they were promising that the final dedicated Iron Man movie would be serious and dark, playing off of Stark's experience in The Avengers. I believe they were wanting the audience to realize that despite being super, he's mentally susceptible just like any other person.

KatoBen

Alot of people dislike this one and I can see why but personally I enjoy it more than 2.

Jonathan Canfield

Personally I enjoy this one a ton more than Iron Man 2 lol. I never end up remembering much about 2's plot and for some reason this one just sticks with me better.

SpootDoot

I wouldn't even put this on the same level as DW tho, i actually got enjoyment outta this movie

Craig

you are not terrible, Trudeau is a lousy prime minister, and we would be better without him

Ignis Flame

yeh imagin how much good they could do

Lance Ivy

Yeah ngl iron man 3 tends to be seen as the weakest of the 3

Aspy 130

at 1:12.38 you yelled Harley and i was looking at my phone not paying attention with headphones on listening to this on my laptop and immeadietly looked up thinking i did something and was in trouble lol (thats my name)

Oh yeah, so unfortunately this is roughly the point where Marvel movies start to become more commercial. Like not that they weren't that from the start, and not like that's exactly a bad thing, but there is a point I think in the middle where a lot of marvel felt very factory made? They were shooting and making the CGI for it way too fast. And you know the saying about you can only have two of three things. . . On top of that there are a number of movies that just had a lot of production issues from the get go, sometimes even changing directors in the middle of production and stories about last minute script changes became pretty common. There is one movie later on that that was kind of a huge cluster fuck. To sum it up: It had three different directors, with the first one leaving in the middle of production, the second one apparently making a shit ton of changes to the story where it seems like they might've just rewritten the entire script, shot a lot of it and then left as well. So they brought in a third guy to more or less weld together the two scripts and use what the first two directors had already shot plus his own shots to Frankstain together a finished movie. . . There is also one of the tv shows, where well into when the show was already airing, they pulled back together the crew that built the sets to recreate one of the sets for some very very desperate last minute changes.

RF

woah, i didn't know stiles's dad was in iron man 3

Alicia:"I'm not on keto so I'm eating garlic bread" Me:"FUCK YEAH!" Me instantly afterwards: *panics because it's 1 am and everyone else is asleep*

Sam Smith

this and Thor 2 are the little stumble marvel made before locking tf in all the way up to endgame

Photon Pnk

Ofc a lot people dont fuck with the Mandarin adaptation which I respect, but I've never read an Iron Man comic (only spidey and DC), so that's not an issue for me.

mykanike

lmao this is pretty funny cause it is about a decade of movies away.

mykanike

I could cry tears of joy. I came here to watch Dragons 2, but that's gonna have to wait. Now for my usual unsolicated yap session where I go down memory lane. Only talking about this movie so safe from spoilers. Crazy that this was dropped more than a decade ago. I remembered my family went to the theaters to see this after I got out of class in 3rd grade. They always say this is their least favorite one, but I beg to differ. I will die on my hill saying this is the best out of the trilogy. I love how raw RDJ's performance is here. Also how Tony loses a lot of his resources and we can see him use his intelligence to craft those cool little gadgets (that's prolly the mech e major jumping out). When I was in my senior film lit class, I chose to write about Tony in this movie and how he shows a lot of signs of PTSD here which is another reason I give him less of a hard time for doing dumb shit like doxxing himself. Dude's barely gotten a wink of sleep since Avengers 1. I know I've done some stupid shit while sleep deprived. Also the prototype suit is one of my favorite and the whole mechanic of it will never fail to make me start cheesing. Okay time to watch the movie.

mykanike

IM3 showcases Tony's genius more than any other movie. He has NOTHING with him, and yet takes on people with superpowers and wins.

Anzac-A1

Heck yeah Marvel time!

Oh! That Robin

Shang-Chi is nowhere close to Iron Man 1 xD it is sooooo far below.

Jasmin Jakobsen

Currently watching barely 20 minutes in did not expect nor want to learn about jelqing. Been watching for nearly 2 years and Alicia still manages to surprise me with what she says/knows.

Prince of the Saiyans

Awesome! Can't wait to watch this, I don't remember the earlier Marvel movies outside Iron Man 1 that well since it has been so long! I hope Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is on the Marvel list though. It's a bit out of left field, but I think it has a chance of topping Iron Man 1 possibly, if nothing else does. It just surprised the hell out of me, going in with no expectations.

L Freya

Your so close to a masterpiece!!

Corey Boesch

I actually really like this one. Shane Black's directorial style shines through, and I appreciate that

Sam

It'd be near perfect if not for dark world being so forgettable.

Jonathan Canfield

Let's go !!! Daddy Stark

Hiddenite Gformer

The best phase! I’m excited!

Dragonstar868

I JUST got off work & was getting ready to watch your "Hellsing" Episode 2 reaction, but I'll take this sign from fate! XD
