2024-12-22 16:43:46 +0000 UTCOda doesn't have a thing for furries, but a lot of his side pieces are whimsical, and often feature animals, especially when he's doing commissions, or in the chapter covers that aren't canon compliant. The existence of a race of anthropomorphized animals was never really a surprise, particularly with the existence of fishmen, not to mention the other races. Any attention to making Lucci 'attractive' as an animal is probably easier to lay at the feet of the Toei animators, rather than Oda himself. Oda does tend to sexualize women, Nami in particular, but he's not nearly as horny or as as varied in his attentions as Toei is. They go the extra mile when converting his work, and then some. To note, however, Shabaody introduced the Mink in a few ways, not just by introducing Bepo. Specifically, the Mink were name dropped during the arc; it was subtle, and you wouldn't have picked up on it unless you could read Japanese, but when they were checking the going rates for mermaids at the auction, they referred to a list of races. Other "items" on the list included humans, fishmen, and notably, "Mink". That being said, Mink weren't worth much comparatively, and there seems to have a pretty low opinion of them overall, as though they're just animals. This seems to be consistent with Chopper's bounty, and the WG and marines might actually believe Chopper, himself, to be a Mink. Note that, this is never confirmed, to my knowledge, it's just inferred by reading between the lines, when you realize that there _is_ a precedent for "animal people", and that while Chopper is unusual to the world at large, he's not actually that unique from a relatively knowledgeable outsider perspective.

Her thoughts are always in the form of drawing that looks like they were made by kids and cute looking. Now look at Kanjuro's drawing i have the skill's of a kid so that just aligns with what Robin adores ;P

Having a tail and fluffy ears doesn't mean you need to act like a dog. Furries, is when you have animal parts and animal traits. But there also the worst ones: characters with 2 sets of ears because who ever drew them gave a flying fuck about what impact on their person, their lives and culture the ears have.
