To note, this isn't a spoiler. Beyond Corazon, Oda only continued to flesh Law out in SBS issues. He has said that it would take too long to incorporate Law's full backstory into the main story, so he just gives overviews for events that are prominent, but that aren't necessarily relevant.

2024-12-05 04:58:20 +0000 UTCThe reaction of the Straw Hats to Luffy mentioning Kinemon is the reason that this is my least favorite arc. They can make their opinions known, but for them to try to police Luffy so hard is off putting to me. At the end of the day, he's still their captain, and Kinemon is still their supposed friend. It's one thing when Nami gets angry and beats Luffy as a gag - that's an actual facet of their relationship, and those reasons are typically internal. It's another thing entirely when others join in, and the motivations are external. Especially when it directly concerns Kinemon, and they have no moral or authoritative power over him. The entire thing was just handled poorly by the Straw Hats, and this is the only arc that actively had me questioning or disliking the actions of the majority of the crew at one point or another. Usopp, in particular, starts to feel like he's backsliding to his pre-Water 7 days, and Brook just becomes disappointing.

2024-12-02 03:55:18 +0000 UTCHe didn't know before he got there, but when he gets there one of his men says "there's heavy hitters guarding them". I can't see in the manga or anime that he gives names specifically (guess that was some Mandela effect), but given he knew Doflamingo was defeated and captured, it's possible he knew how heavy those hitters were. Granted, that's all speculation though. Either way, Jack is strong, and strong enough to do some damage and be labeled as "body not found" rather than confirmed dead, but he definitely bit off more than he could chew, whether he knew who it was or not.

He managed to sink 2 of the ships (think there were four total), but you could chalk that up to surprise. But yeah, Jack really had advance notice of Sengoku, Fujitora, and Tsuru being in that convoy, and thought "I got this."

2024-12-01 17:39:00 +0000 UTCIn case you are wondering Alicia, the two that are shown with Bepo most of the time are Shachi and Penguin, together with Bepo and Law they founded the Heart Pirates. Story goes in an SBS, Law was still on the move after Corazon's death and saw Shachi and Penguin attacking Bepo because he was different, Law beat them up and all three of them chose to follow him. Also they each represent a different animal, Law is a spotted seal, Bepo a polar bear, Shachi a orca, and Penguin a penguin.
