Just a heads up, the following comment is meant to be a jab at Zoro specifically; Do not take this seriously. also, I JUST thought about this....if they're Technically "monkey minks" with less hair......does that mean they technically get the N word pass? Cause if that's true, than Zoro beat the racist allegations. (there's this running gag that Zoro is racist, due to most of the enemies he beats, like Mr. 1, Ms. Monday, Ohm, Braham, Kuma, and Pika are black/people of color;) Personally, I don't think he's racist and it's just a coincidence.

2025-01-15 19:00:01 +0000 UTCin all honesty, it could be taken either way. Not like luffy is gonna get offended.

2025-01-15 17:14:37 +0000 UTC@Bachira look, again, I don't want to dwell too much on a joke, but my point was that what Wanda said wasn't that uplifting message that was presented and yes, you can absolutely be unintentionally offensive and that it wouldn't change that you are still offensive (have you ever been on the internet? XD). Calling a human a "hairless monkey mink" is no different than calling a mink "a hairy human". Do you think that no mink would take offense to that? (or rather that they could not take offense?) Or would they not want to take pride in being minks and not humans? In the human world, fishmen were classified as fish until 200 years ago, so just because your culture views the world in a certain way, it doesn't mean it's acceptable (and yes, the example is not the same thing, just wanting to point out that "this is how I see it" cannot be a justification).

2024-12-09 02:19:47 +0000 UTC"doesn't matter the intention" it kinda does matter when you're literally talking about a translation. She's not "denying the existence of humans", they just interpret the world differently because of their culture. It's no more denying the existence of humans than it is denying the existence of any other animals they include in the Mink culture. It's true that some people might take offense to the "we are all the same" thing, but I don't really see why that should matter. Some people would take offense if I said that humans are animals, a type of ape, but that doesn't make it any less true.
Bachira
2024-12-09 01:21:44 +0000 UTCI mean, but that's what humans are. We are literally apes with less hair. In real life, we of course have more developed brains in certain ways, but in the show, the Minks are clearly just as intelligent as humans, so to them, yeah, we are basically just monkeys with less hair.
Bachira
2024-12-09 01:15:46 +0000 UTCHonestly I don't think being referred to as a bald monkey-man is all that good either.

2024-12-04 00:54:26 +0000 UTC@ChaosSepher I was a bit sarcastic, but it's probably a case of lost in translation since, from what I understand, "mink" is the word used for both the race as a whole and their furs. She also says "lesser mink" in English, not Japanese, so the end result does not sound very "nice". It doesn't matter the intention, I don't think it translates well in English because without the full "explanation," you would not take anyone calling you a "lesser mink" in a good way, would you? But who knows, maybe that's why the minks have a bad reputation for being human-haters, so maybe that is intentional world-building? I think it's just Oda messing up English, it wouldn't be the first time XD And even with all of that, she is basically denying the existence of humans and assimilating them into minks. I understand the positive intention of "we are all the same", but I wouldn't bet that no one would take offense to that if the OP world were real. Again, while I think these are valid arguments, I'm making a sarcastic remark. I'm not taking it seriously or think that the minks are actually racists. I just find it ironic.
leviathan_13
2024-12-04 00:26:24 +0000 UTCNo no no. She specifically means and explains in show "Lesser" as in Less Fur, not as in inferior.

2024-12-03 15:32:09 +0000 UTC"We are not racists, we just consider you lesser minks" - Wanda, sweetie, if I say to you that you are a lesser human, that's not exactly the progressive mentality you think it is :D.

2024-12-02 07:24:43 +0000 UTCOne of the main differences between crocodiles and alligators (apart from all the others already mentioned in the comments) is that croc teeth slot between each other while all the teeth in an alligator's lower jaw have corresponding sockets in the upper jaw So if the animal has its mouth closed and you can see its bottom teeth you've got a croc on your hands
Vokiman
2024-12-02 01:15:39 +0000 UTCCrocodiles do however, tend to have a much stronger bite force than alligatos, and their bottom teeth poke out from their mouth, while alligators top teeth poke down from their mouth. This is so crocodiles wider bottom jaw can scoop fish like a basket, while alligators can drag prey down like a spikey trap
Emperor Moist
2024-12-02 00:59:05 +0000 UTCCrocodiles are mainly water hunters they have sharp skinny snouts for quick snaps and areodynamics. Prey: Mainly fish Alligators are water and land hunters, They have chunkier snouts, in order to grab land prey easier. their legs are more down facing than crocodiles which allows them to move on the ground much easier and catch their prey: land animals

2024-12-02 00:56:59 +0000 UTCI feel like one of the greatest aspects of one piece is how unlikable or lack of interest a character may have at first but as the story grows you grow to like them somewhat or at least dislike them less. I personally like bege but i also just like all the worst generation members. but i cant personally attest if she'll like bege or not. I just find it cool that given time oda does seem to build on his characters pretty well.

2024-12-02 00:07:19 +0000 UTCAlligators have wider, U-shaped snouts and are typically found in freshwater habitats, while crocodiles have narrower, V-shaped snouts and prefer saltwater or brackish water https://databayou.com/crocodile/habitat.html this web address will show the habitats of all big clamp dragons

2024-12-01 20:27:25 +0000 UTCIt does make a lot of sense for something like the Minks tribes to not judge based on appearance because of how wildly diverse theirs is. I think the only reason the Fishmen aren't like that as well is because of the extreme discrimination they suffered.

2024-12-01 15:12:46 +0000 UTCCrocodiles can be saltwater or freshwater where as aligators can only be fresh water. crocodiles also have a pointer longer snout . than the short-rounded snout of an alligator. they also can ...generally... grow larger. a big alligator is like 12 ft a big Croc is like 18. google says this weird thing about a max size but i have seen an 18ft alligator with my own eyes and Gustave the crocodile prove that wrong
Lance Ivy
2024-12-01 15:09:17 +0000 UTCAlligators are the ones that avoid humans crocs can and have hunted and eaten humans from the waters in Africa throughout Asia and Australia especially salt water crocs they're the most aggressive.

2024-12-01 14:37:07 +0000 UTCkind of wild that the day Alicia starts Spongebob is the same day we have a bunch of anthropomorphic animals living in pineapples on top of the trees

2024-12-01 13:37:55 +0000 UTC13:35 A crocodile's snout is long and pointy like a v while an alligator's is short and broad like a u. Crocodiles avoid humans unless provoked and alligators are aggressive and will attack with no provocation

2024-12-01 13:19:54 +0000 UTCYou’ve gotta have sex on the brain if all you think about when you see anthropomorphic animals is “furries” and how each one would fuck a person. Instead of sexualising them just accept they’re a different race of creatures. People forget that we humans are also animals with less hair.
