A franchise operates like a mom & pop shop, but with a corporate that can screw you over (for example, rebranding, where you're now on the hook to remodel your entire restaurant on your dime) and that takes their money off of the top line. You could be in the red every month but the chain doesn't care because they're still getting paid. Sure there are some franchise owners that are huge, but some people just have like 1 or 2 stores. My dad bought a couple of sandwich shops from the owner when he retired and corporate usually found a way to gobble up most of his profits. Also going to point out that in the US, most jobs don't have an employment contract.

It is so greatly appreciated to have more staff members on hand, even if it's not necessarily *needed.* It both feels better to have more help *if* it is needed, or to have a more relaxing night because everything is easier when you have more hands on deck THANK YOU.

I order out multiple times a week, and i almost always check deals first and focus on the best deals, even if it wasn't something i normally consider. There are multiple local restaurants that i eat from regularly purely because i found them on the app and enjoyed their food, so you're absolutely right on the brand loyalty and getting your name out through deals that don't hurt the bottom line. And i also completely stopped ordering Zaxby's because they raised both of my usuals by 2.50 and 4 dollars respectively, and i refused to pay 4 dollars more for the same product when im already dealing with delivery fee and tip.

I was a shift manager who always closed and I just asked my crew if they wanted it instead. We made a good profit at our store and I cared more about my crew getting whatever they wanted.

All these types of shows create drama and issues to film it. This was especially noticeable in the hotel series where the place somehow completely messed up 3 meals over the course of the day. Not just a little mess up, but like would be shut down for 1 of them let alone 3.
